The fist punched hole in the sheet rock wall next to the bed has not been repaired since I reported it for room 118 over a year ago. Though the room was reasonably clean the bed mattress sagged and was very lumpy. Mattress sheet did not fit the bed (too small and not fitted) Rat or mouse turds all over the floor at west entrance to the building. Waffle and syrup tasted so bad is was not edible.

When booking this property, I saw no mention of the fact that this property has no elevator. We were placed on the 2nd floor and had to carry all our stuff up stairs. I have two bad knees and stairs are very difficult to navigate, even more so with heavy luggage. Had I known there was no elevator, I never would have considered this property in the first place. The front desk has a sign stating the property was sold out, so there was no hope of changing to a ground floor room. The only thing reasonable about this property was the price, but only in comparison to nicer properties in Ames.

Coffee was horrible. The color of tea!!! No one came to the front desk for more than 20 minutes when we were trying to check in. Concrete in the parking lot was a major trip hazard. Otherwise we were very pleased

Torn window screens. Parking lot broken concrete. Dirty and old hall carpet. And it cost $184!! Don’t stay here and we won’t consider a Super 8 if this is an example of what they’re like.

Our tv came with 4 separate remotes; that I had to go individually get that each controlled a separate function on the tv. There were homeless people hanging out by our car everytime we went outside. No shower curtain in the bathroom, even after I asked to to have one brought to our room. Mold on the bed skirt. Highly recommend this hotel👍

Overall, the front desk person was very friendly, the room was cleaned well, but unfortunately, there was a bit of a musty odor, in the room I stayed in had two substantial cracks in the base of the tub that clearly leaks water, and you had to be careful not to cut your foot on it. The bed was actually more comfortable than some of the higher in the hotels I had stayed in earlier in the week and the week before. If you're not looking for anything can see, but want something quiet and comfortable, it's definitely priced right!

Easy enough check in process, duvet was stained, carpets seemed really filthy, ceiling in shower discolored and collapsing inward. If you need a quick place to sleep this works, but not for an extended stay of any kind.

Credit card machine wasn’t working so we had to get cash. Remotes for tv don’t work, you have to get right up behind the tv to change channels and even then it doesn’t work well. Whirlpool tub had scum all over it. Sheets and comforter smelt like mold, whole room smelt like mold. Don’t stay here. Worst experience of my life.

Very minimal tv channels, noise from other room a/c heater units, super noisy bathroom exhaust fan. Bed was comfy, after 11:30pm all noise subsided and I slept well.

The property is rundown inside and out. Inside the building there was an odd odor, luckily only in the halls and not in our room. The mattress wasn’t terrible, the linens were very thin though. The only light for the bathroom also turns on the bathroom vent which was extremely loud. Staff was friendly and the early check-in was appreciated.

It is a Super8 so don't expect it to be nice. Dirty worn carpet. Old linens. Old thread bare blanket peppered with holes. Minimal poor selection for breakfast. Yogurt, cereal and packaged low quality pastries. Would not stay again. We normally stay at much nicer chains like Best Western etc. But we were here for Iowa State grad and prices were sky high everywhere. We needed 2 nights. Total was $360.

Hallways & common areas were dirty. Fan in the room was too loud to run at night. No toilet paper or paper towels in lobby bathroom, staff did not replace when notified. Breakfast was cereal & a jug with 1/2 of milk. No napkins in breakfast area, front desk clerk offered kleenex when we asked for napkins.
