This hotel is very much under construction. The front desk said I had 2 separate reservations for a double room. I only made one reservation. They couldn't cancel the 2nd one. The room smelled musty. There was construction debris in the hallways. The pool was empty and closed.

Desk clerk had to be summoned and then barely mumbled to us and we never saw anyone at the front desk, after that. Indoor pool was drained of water. Blanket on bed was a sticky rubbery velour. No fridge. Floor was dirty. Stale cereal at breakfast and very slim selection. Mold and a hair came out of the decaf coffee spout. I told my husband that the decor and condition looked like that of a Third World country and he (who has traveled in Africa and Afghanistan replied, “No, Third World hotels are much better than this.” Don't be lured by the cheap rate.

I do not like to leave negative reviews but in this case I wish there had been reviews for me to read. We only paid $71 per night with an Expedia promotion and for that amount I guess it was OK. But if I had paid more than that, I’d have been very disappointed. Mediocre breakfast with no fruit or yogurt. They did have a nice waffle machine. And coffee available in the lobby AlI day. I calle ahead the night before and was told that there were microwaves and refrigerators in every room. But the room we were assigned did not have a microwave. I’m guessing we could’ve been moved, but I didn’t discover it until we were all unpacked and settled in and just didn’t wanna mess with it. Bathroom tub needed to be re-caulked. A big chunk of the tub was missing showing the metal underneath. Also, there was no way to use the luggage rack to get the luggage to your room as there was no elevator and you had to walk up 1/2 flight of steps to get to the main level or down 1/2 flight of steps to get to the lower level. And then just small things were a miss. Like some brackets on the drapes were missing so that the drapes didn’t quite cover the window. No coffee pots iThe front desk staff all three days we were there was extremely helpful and pleasant. I felt bad for the young man one day as some unhappy customers were really abusive and yelling at him For something they were not happy with. He stood there and politely stayed calm, but tried to explain It wasn’t anything he had control over.

Amazing experience, can definitely tell that they care about their establishment and their guest, currently looks like they are remodeling/upgrading but were EXTREMELY respectful of guest staying there, did not hear any type of construction or hammers etc till at least 11 am but that could of been me just extremely tired.......HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Unfortunately, my recent stay at this hotel in Iowa was very disappointing. Upon arrival, there was a noticeable shortage of staff or sense of urgency; wait times at the front desk consistently ranged from 5 to 10 minutes. The condition of the room was unacceptable. There was a strong, unpleasant odor, almost as if animals had urinated inside. While the beds were made, the sheets were stained, ripped, and clearly worn out. Several light fixtures didn’t work properly, and the cable television consistently cut out around midnight. The bathroom was also very dirty, with visible grime and mold in some areas, and the ceiling showed clear signs of water damage with sagging pockets likely caused by leaks. Housekeeping was nonexistent during our stay. No one came to clean the room or take out the trash. We had to repeatedly request fresh towels and ended up taking our own trash outside. Each time we needed assistance, we had to chase down staff just to get basic support. Overall, the experience was far below expectations. I would not recommend staying here until major improvements are made in cleanliness, maintenance, and customer service.

There was no insect infestation. But there was not enough towels. There was no soap to wash your hands. The smell when you walk into the damp room is just awful. The beds felt wet and the floor felt slick it was so moist. You can get a better breakfast and coffee from the gas station. The pool didn't look bad. I wish I had some more nice things to say.

When we first checked in, the employee was not interested and was rude. After we arrived in our room, we started to unpack and that is when we noticed something crawling across the bedspread. It was a small white worm. Then we found food remnants left by the baseboard of the bed. The smell in the room was awful as well. We had planned to stay for two nights and instead turned in the keys and left. This was a bad experience and I have traveled across the country and stayed in many hotels.

Do not stay here. The entire hotel is dirty and outdated, and our room was gross. When we first walked into the room, it smelled musty but the AC was really low so we thought maybe it was just humid while we waited for the AC to kick in. There were multiple burn holes in the comforter and a black stain on the sheets. The shower and sink were rusty and crusty. We didn't spend much time in our room thankfully but when we came back to the room it smelled like pee. My husband ended up smelling around and deciding someone likely peed inside the AC unit. The rest of the hotel was gross so we didn't bother asking for a new room, we just spend that night with the window open and AC off. At checkout (a Sunday at 9:45 am) I was going to inform staff of the issues we had but no one was at the desk so we dropped our keys and left. Whoever is running the hotel obviously pockets the money made and doesn't put a cent back into the place so it's a dump. We brought our suits and wanted to swim but didn't want to risk a skin infection. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Lobby and hallways had overwhelming bad smell. I couldn’t breathe. I got the room and the bed sheets had human hairs and stain on it. They gave me another room and it had very strong sweat and musty smell, I thought I was going to throw up. They gave me another room which was okay compared to the last two but it didn’t have microwave. So I had to go all the way to lobby area to heat up my food. Over all it was a terrible place. I understand this isn’t luxury hotel but at least clean room, hallways, and lobby area would make a big difference. I would not go back and do not recommend anyone. If you pay few dollar extra it would worth staying somewhere else. Rather than staying at this stinking place.

The motel is old, but that's no excuse for how dirty the location is. The bedding was horribly stained, mold in the bathroom, broken chair, breakfast was a crockpot full of sausage, old cereal, white bread for toast and make-your-own-waffles with an incredibly dirty waffle maker. The place smelled of vomit and weed. Staff was nice and all this is beyond them. Wyndham, do better.

I am not one to complain, but I did not like this hotel. Hair everywhere, bedding very well worn, overall cleanliness not up to par. Bathroom sink doesn’t drain, only 2 towels, rusting out the door frame in the bathroom, fan sounding like a dying cat… I didn’t go barefoot and was happy for my late night, early morning stay.

The Desk Attendant was efficient, but not externally friendly. We were disappointed that 1) there was no mini-fridge in the room and 2) we needed to get an extra washcloth(there was only one);3) little soaps-nice, but little shampoos/lotion would have helped. 4)the breakfast was disappointing-so little, juice maker not working, and waffle fluid dispenser-not day one, fixed day two-yay. 5) very small flat pillows on bed; sorry I did not bring my own. The positives-cleanly room, bedding, good working air, good lighting, quiet-good walls. Walk up two flights to room; of course, pre-elevator days....Parking was convenient. Lower priced hotel, as good as it gets.

We paid for two queen size beds and the beds were definitely not queen sized - they were doubles. Sheets had tears in them. Room had a strange smell. The restaurant next door was very loud late into the night. The TV had a large stripe across the top third of the screen that was burned in and never went away and blocked the show.

You get what you pay for. This is an old hotel. I can't say anything bad about the staff, room or the location, and it was an incredible bargain for the price. But the bed pillows was absolutely horrible. (lumpy & small couch size). Breakfast was pretty sparse to begin with, and if you want protein, there isn't any. Our hallway was up a flight of stairs- very hard for mobility issues.

Waited to check in several minutes while the clerk dealt with an out of state roofing contractor’s employees.The reservation was in someone else’s name and they had no IDs. When our turn came the clerk struggled finding our reservations, assigning the appropriate rooms and even programming the keys to the rooms. He was very polite and apologized often saying he was just filling in. Both rooms smelled bad. Mine in particular smelled of heavy cigar smoke and the AC was not on so it was very hot-unbearable to be in. We turned the AC to low and I went to the front desk-the clerk was still dealing with the roofing guys who were now angry. I received a spray can of air freshener. After 20-30 minutes waiting in the hallway the room was bearable to enter. After unpacking we went to take a shower and the button to activate the shower head didn’t work so we took a bath. There were no washcloth and one hand towel two bath towels. Later we found the shampoo vial was used and nearly empty. No fridge or microwave in a single king bed room. We did like having a TV that had a Netflix option. The breakfast area was sad. Two choices of children’s cereal, a waffle maker, a plexiglass breadbox with white bread only and a crockpot full of link sausages. The tiny toaster had a lever that popped up before the bread was toast. Day 2 of 3 the coffee maker didn’t work. The TV when on was stuck on a TV evangelist channel.. The Mexican restaurant next door has excellent huevos rancheros.

This is an old property that has been renovated recently. I can't say anything bad about the room or the location, and it was an incredible bargain for the price. But the mattress was absolutely horrible. We sank in. Breakfast was pretty sparse to begin with, and wasn't restocked quickly as things ran out.

Room was clean, but very old. Blankets and carpet stained and worn out. No facial tissues, no water cups, no refrigerator, VERY small pillows. It is inexpensive but I will pay more to stay elsewhere on my next visit to Des Moines. The breakfast consisted of cereal or a waffle. No hot water or tea at all. Front desk was not helpful at all. They just said wait until the next morning to talk to a manager!

The hallways are not beautiful and have a faint smell (old carpets?) but the room was fine: large, quiet, reasonably clean, no smell, comfortable bed. Had a small fridge, iron and ironing board, hair dryer. No coffee pot, which would have been nice. I wouldn't count on wanting to eat their so-called breakfast. This is not a high class hotel, but it's adequate.

The hotel manager of this establishment is a complete joke. While trying to get explanations to any question he rudely interrupts you and asks if you're done as if he didnt listen to anything you were saying. I will NEVER think about comong here again. I didnt even keep my room and requested a refund due to his selfish behavior. Im disgusted to think that this is what Wyndham see as "acceptable" behavior.

Wasnt bad. When we got into our room there was no ftidge or microwave which shocked us. Went down and asked since we were staying for 2 days we for sure wanted those. The front desk guy did get us a different room. But he also was like did you make a mess in the first room. Told him no we were literally in there less than 5 minutes. He goes im going to check. Which I thought was rude but fine go ahead. Got in new room only 2 towels there were 4 of us staying but i was like ok whatever. Next morning go down for breakfast there isn't any. No one at front desk. So called finally a lady came out asked she said oh no breskfast not many guests. Which does make sense but would have been nice to know day before. Then asked her for more towels. She was very nice. Otherwise it was an alright stay.

Words cannot describe how much I wish I spent the $30 extra to stay at a slightly nicer place and not this horror house. I was moving across country by myself with my dog, and we booked this place just to have a place to crash for the night during the drive. I arrived to a run down, empty parking lot a little before check in time at around 2:30pm or so, and went I went inside there was absolutely no one to be found. I dialed the number for assistance, and eventually got someone was told very rudely on the phone that it was not check in time yet, and I had to wait. So I did. Upon check in, the staff was very rude about me having my dog and the room itself was actually from the year 1930. There were stains on the comforters, the TV didn’t work, and I had ONE medium sized towel. Also, God forbid you leave your key in the room. When I did this and went to get a new one, I was told “why do people always do this, it’s actually so annoying” 0/10 would not recommend staying here to my worst enemy.

The front desk of this hotel is barely manned and a phone jeeds ised to get attention. Key cards kept deactivating. Front desk girl told me to stop putting them with my phone. When i told her i havent she just rolled her eyes. There was hair and old soap in the shower. But tue rest of the room was okay. Bed was comfy. The male that would man the desk was kind and attentive. The female in the mornings was never there and acted like it was an inconvenience when she was called. Just overall rough customer service.

I had a late check-in, but everything was great when I got there. They even gave me an upgraded room for the same price, even though I was checking out that morning. Nice simple breakfast with the waffles, cereal, etc., available. Location is good to get on to the highway.

Great location as I was able to walk to food, convenient store and concert venue. The room was basic and the window was ground level, and opened! Only met one employee who was friendly and a bit slow due to his age, but overall I had no issues.

Run of the mill average hotel across the board. Advertises Hot Breakfast online but does not serve eggs. Only sausage, toast and waffles are available for breakfast. Felt kinda decieved about the breakfast but not the end of the world. Also, toilet was wobbly, not secured 100% to floor and key cards would need to be re-swiped at desk for them to work multiple times. All in all not a bad hotel for the price, not spotless but not dirty and any issues were somewhat minor. I'd stay here again if on a tight budget.

The location was convenient for our stay. The continental breakfast was horrible, the coffee was undrinkable and the biscuits and gravy were warmed up more than once. The only thing we could eat were the waffles and cereal. The only other drinks were juice and it was empty. The bathroom in our unit was dirty especially the tub. We won't stay there again.

The room was good but needs a little TLC. The bed was great, good hot water in shower, furniture needs upgradebut overall it was a comfortable stay. HOWEVER... i was dissapointed in the breakfast, it was pretty skimpy. Waffle mix was runny, sausage links but no eggs, no biscuits and gravy. I have had a lot better in other Days Inn locations.

Would it kill the staff to smile or be nice? Everyone was rude. Linens were stained only 2 towels no amenities and breakfast had 2 things. OJ was expired.
