Extended Stay America Suites - Chicago - Midway

No ice maker, no coffee maker in the room, no blow dryer in room - empty ice trays in freezer, had to get a coffee maker/coffee from front desk, and all blow dryers were checked out. Staff very nice!

Property has no ice machines, but the rooms are very comfortable.

There was no ice trays, no ice bucket, no ice machine. There was a kitchen with no working stove, no paper towels. Limited tv channels, air conditioning didn’t work. It was the worst room I ever stayed in.

It was very nice to have the kitchen in the room and the AC was blowing ice cole I loved it

Was expecting more bang for my buck. While everything was "ok" it just didnt meet expectations for the price point. Everything in the room was clean but old and definitely showed its age. You're supplied bar soap in your room but told to ask for shampoo. You have to ask for the kitchen supplies as they are not in the room, and again really showing its age just being so worn out. Breakfast was also disheartening, which had I done better research I would have been given a better heads up. But a granola bar, muffin and oat meal is all, and inconviently located right by the front enterance in a cabinet that opens up. Would I stay again? Maybe.....but the price would definitely have to be lowered or their hotel needs to be upgraded.

Friday night, Definitely not worth 184 the night! Breakfast: Packets of Oatmeal! Dirty hallways, elevator. Room clean, beds bellow average kitchen had absolutely no utensils cup pots… had to call and go back down to lobby and carry up what they gave which was only two forks, coffee cups, plates no pots or spoons or bowls

The room is clean but I don’t like that they are still in Covid mode. No daily cleaning and you have to bring your used towels to the front desk in order to get clean ones. All dishes and utensils have to be requested from the front desk as well. Breakfast is just grab and go mainly coffee, tea, muffins and granola bars. No gym. But it was clean and quiet for the most part. I’ll rate it a 7 out of 10

Fast check in and lot of parking spots

It was advertised as having a pool and hot tub which it did not. The hotel smells bad. No Utensils were provided with the kitchen. Gum was on my headboard and sunflower seeds in my bathroom.

Nothing special. Just a place to sleep. It is in a very safe neighborhood. Lots of parking and close to Midway.

Not clean, woke up to roaches on the counter. Wife and I slept 2 nights and were disappointed. Hot water took awhile for a shower. Only reason why we stayed is all the events happening had the hotels booked or ridiculous prices.

Dirty bathroom and dirty towels on the bathroom floor. Dirt under furniture. 5 outlets were inoperable. Street level Windows open upon arrival. Entry door frame was bent and loss and deadbolt would not engage. Loose toilet seat unable to be tightened. Coffee maker supplied didn’t work. They said they were low on kitchen supplies no silverware. Staff was ordering pizza in cell phone while we were waiting to check in.

No breakfast had roaches

The floor in our room was sticky. Place was generally unclean. Smelled like smoke. Our friends who stayed in another room found a bed bug and packed up/left the property.

Room has everything we needed. Convenient area to the airport. Just wasn’t cleaned well. Random hairs everywhere that weren’t mine. Had ants on my nightstand.

There were live bed bugs in the room.

There were roaches in the room.

The hallways were filthy and had a bad smell. The carpet in the hallways were worn and damaged. The kitchen was outdated and the counter was stained.

Stayed in room 109. All surfaces were sticky, including tile floor. Shower curtain rod falling off the wall. Bathroom door could not be closed due to crooked doorframe. Breakfast included meant coffee & power bars. Would not stay there again. I expected more for $200/nite. Lots of other options in the area. Pick a different hotel.

The refrigerator had some sticky stuff around the door handle. The bed felt like I was sleeping on a stack of hay. The bathroom was alright. The breakfast was coffee and muffins.

Light switches and outlets out and no microwave, which was ridiculous however staff was great and fixed it once we asked

our shower curtain rod was broken and wasn’t able to be closed completely so while showering, the water would spill onto the floor and make a mess. other than that, it wasn’t bad for price

Desk clerk was welcoming and lobby is typical. Exiting the elevator, the stench hit me. The room was clean (smell tolerable) but disappointing as the furniture and fixtures are outdated. For safety and health issues, mock kitchen fixtures/appliances should be replaced. Freezer and microwave look clean but smell. This takes away from the staff, property location and room rates which are excellent! Questionable if I would stay here again let alone recommend this property to others.

Basic room totally fine with thats all i need is bed and bathroom but the showe/tub had no hot water and one sheet on the bed not even a top sheet

Horrible place. Dirty, smelly. Tv not working. No hot water for shower! Just incredible! I should have slept in the park!!! Stay away!

The lady on the night shift was rude and unprofessional. Will never stay at another extended stay again due to my experience here

I booked my stay over a month ago through Expedia. I expected things to go smoothly because I have stayed here many times with minimal issues. Check-in was at 3pm on the 3rd, but due to travel, we checked in around 5:45pm. The room smelled horribly of cigarettes. We tried to request another room and were told that they were fully booked, but they would make a note of the smell so we could avoid any additional charges. Soon after, we were ready to unpack. We were surprised and disappointed to find there were drawers filled with clothing and drug paraphernalia, clothing was discarded under the bed, and since there was no blanket on the bed, we were convinced that the room had not been cleaned whatsoever. The man at the front desk came up himself to remove the clothing and paraphernalia. We asked for a blanket and took it to the room. Then we asked for sheets and were treated like guests who had been staying for WEEKS, not ones who had just checked in. We were told to bring the obviously dirty sheets and such to the desk and were expected to change everything ourselves. Ridiculous, considering we were given a filthy, uncleaned room. We left shortly after and could not get in contact with the GM of the hotel. We never came back, as we called the next day around 3pm and were told the room was STILL NOT CLEANED. I had to go through expedia, a manager, and other hotel staff to get a refund. I used to love staying here. I don't think I will stay again after this experience.

Staff is excellent!

Although the facility was quiet during the night and at least the shower worked (able to get hot water with water pressure), the staff was exceptionally rude, the elevator (when working) smelled like fish (we purchased air deodorizer and sprayed it each time we entered), the floors were somewhat sticky, much of the furniture was broken, the room smelled of cigarettes, and I had to "flip" the breaker in my room (IN THE DARK) without the front desk person even offering to assist (at least he told me where the breaker box was). Honestly, I'm glad I have experience with primitive camping, so not much bothers me. But, seriously, one of the worst places I've ever stayed.

I arrived & there was no one at the front desk I was holding my baby and I sat her & my son down & I said excuse me a couple times & a couple mins later the front desk attendant came to the front & said all of the rooms were full, so I replied & told her that I reserved through Expedia, she says ohhh ok but we still don’t have any rooms so I ask her how is that possible if I already have paid, then she says ok & takes a deep breath and asks me what’s my date of birth? So I tell her & then she asks my name & the last 4 of my social so I tell her & then she asks for my ID or drivers license so I tell her that I am waiting on my replacement and that i only have the paper copy that the dmv place gave me and I have a picture of my id on my phone as well, so she tells me she can’t let me rent the room without a physical ID she says she has to have the physical ID to take it to the back to make a copy of it, I offered to give her my paper copy from the dmv she refused and said no & you can’t get the room ma’am. My kids were already tired so I began to leave but then I said excuse me again & she came from the back & I asked her how can I get my refund? She responded call Expedia tell them you canceled& I’ll release your refund &I said ok. I called Expedia & they wouldn’t refund me & they knew that I never stayed there. She denied me the room & she could have accepted my paper id from the dmv. She lied & said I used the room, & now they want me to review a room that She’s probably in

Location of the property seems to be good but the maintenance and upkeep need to improve. Staff is helpful.

The bathroom smelt like cigarette smoke, no ice machine, and the breakfast was minimal, but overall dandy and a fine deal. 30 minutes from downtown Chicago, safe, and free parking. It’s what we needed!

Likely great for those staying long term and need a discounted place. Not quite the mattress comfort and quiet you’re looking for a one-night layover. There were street racers outside our window all night on a Saturday.

I needed a place where i could pull up and self park on the property. I was going to Chicago and didn't find much option for self parking on the same property

Easy access to local services. Most reasonably priced Hotel within 15 minutes of Midway Airport. Great for early morning flights from Midway Airport.

Our lights didn’t work and we had to figure that out multiple times, it was a good sized room but very much in need of updates. We went for an event and enjoyed the area as it was out of the city way, clean and safe for the most part. Most staff were friendly, others we hear complaining multiple times. As frequent hotel guests we do our best to stay out of the way, leave it cleaner than we arrive and enjoy our time

Worst hotel Ive ever been too! I wish i wouldve looked at the reviews before I came.its not like its a cheap hotel(at least not from where im from) 1)it is NOT in Chicago, thats a complete lie. It is 35 minutes away from Chicago. 2) it is SO dirty. They do not clean it. It smelled horrible when we walked in to the room. 3) they dont give you shampoo or any amenities . How cheap can they be to not even give out shampoo or soap. Ive never ever seen that from a hotel and ive stayed at way cheaper hotels. 4) they do not have breakfast. Thats another lie. Part of why we booked this was because they said they had breakfast included. What a joke. They have a table with coffee, a muffin, and oatmeal (no bowls for your oatmeal though). Mind you ive gotten full breakfast bars from cheaper places. 5) we talked to locals and the area around the hotel is not safe! They said car jackings and theft occurs alot.

It is an okay area. There are restaurants like 1 miles away but not in walking distance. The traffic in Chicago is quite congested. So the taxi for 13 miles would take 1 hour. It would be expensive. The room does not have a working phone. The breakfast is just some snacks. There is no shampoo provided in the shower room. But you can ask for it.

The floors were dirty inside the room. First when we got in, our first room smelt like smoke, so my family got a different room. Limited space to eat. Beds were pretty tiny. Breakfast was not even a full breakfast, only a coffee section, muffins, and bars.

Breakfast bar was a little lacking. There was definitely garbage all over the floor in the room by the window. None of the middle lights worked. The shower bar was bent so the shower curtain didn’t close but sank to the middle of the bar getting water all over the floor

Breakfast needs improvement. Fruits need to be added. Toast and bakery items can be added easily. Yogurt should be added. Carpets need to be cleaned.

Room was quiet and allowed us to sleep, but not comfortably. It is advertised there is breakfast available. This was told at check in with the night guy, it was only a grab and go. The morning lady tho teold us it was coffee only, no food of any kind. So seems that they are totally lying about providing a breakfast and that should be taken out of their description.

The description is off. “Breakfast included” does not mean just coffee and wrapped muffins, and that’s all you get here.
