Motel 6-Libertyville, IL

Hotel was under construction. Elevator not working properly almost got stuck on multiple times, cleaning crew didn’t clean rooms while there or refreshed room with clean towels, and air conditioner in room was leaking water.

This place is very nice and clean and the recipient is very friendly in the parking is good and it’s a walking distance to restaurants and shops nearby. I love it.

Two flat pillows on each bed. The beds were a mattress on a frame. When we arrived there wasn’t any bath towels, only hand and wash towels. When we first arrived we thought it was clean. By the time we went to bed there was sand on the sheets under the blankets. The tv hardly worked, would either get too bright or dark or no sound if the channel worked. The elevator was scary. Didn’t see any maintenance records posted anywhere. Then it would hop when you’d get to your floor. We stayed for 4 days and we’re only originally given 1/2 roll of toilet paper for 4 people. Had to go to front desk for more. Don’t expect a pool. It’s filled in. The smell of marijuana is overwhelming. Yes, it’s legal in Illinois but, not everyone enjoys the aroma. Especially military members. Broken down and damaged cars left in the parking lot. Possibly stole and abandoned. Don’t let the pictures fool you. Very deceiving. A/C unit was loud and would changed temperatures. Middle of the night ours was down to 60 degrees. Third floor windows were secured. Opened easily and no screens. Will not stay again

Conveniently located near a gas station and quiet neighborhood, the motel was good for affordability and location. No gym, no pool. Coin laundry available.

They are under construction, so I understand the possibilities of having some issues. The only one we had was that our water in our room quit working. We figured out they were working on it and the staff was quick to get us dealt with. Very nice people, decent place. I’m sure it will be even better once the construction is over.

The property is very clean. It is the parking receptionist very friendly walking distance to restaurants and shopping. It’s a very nice place.

The hotel was under construction and I did not get a handicapped shower .. but it was one night and great price & location.

I stay here a few times a year when doing work events. I normally like my stay. This time was not pleasant. I was put in an end room on second floor. Elevator was broken which was a set back. Then ice machine on my floor was broken. I found old pieces of crackers in my bed sheets. Then was called later in evening asking if I had showered or if my toilet was running. Apparently room beneath mine had a leak. Well all was fine in my room and I had not showered yet. I took a quick shower cause was afraid something might leak. Nothing did but was not enjoyable. It still cost me 73 dollars. That is not cheap for a place that does not even provide you shampoo. I hate complaining and service is usually good here but this stay made me want to rethink booking here again.

The team at Motel 6 was helpful,kind, available and responsive. The hotel is being renovated. They are adding new refrigerators and microwaves to the rooms. Laundry facilities on-site, parking is a breeze and they have the best pet policy of any hotels in the area. Additionally, as a single woman traveling alone, I felt safe. I would definitely stay there again.

The place was not clean, there was visible filth on the walls, had my allergies going all weekend. The shower had cracks everywhere and there was a smell. No toiletries were provided besides 2 bar soaps. I understand it's a motel 6 but it's not worth the price.

Lots of trash around the building. Floor was not clean. Crumbs and ants under the bed.

Staff was ok, but the room was very old and did not smell pleasant at all.

Non smoking room smelled so much like old stale smoke. Bathroom was dirty, towels had stains. You have to ask for shampoo and conditioner at the front desk which is inconvenient. I checked out early due to the conditions, wouldn’t stay there another minute.

I was actually really impressed with the cleanliness. The grout between the tiles in the shower was actually clean which I don't even have it done at my home. Lol the staff was very friendly but a huge thumbs up for housekeeping they are fantastic. It's definitely top Notch for the priice. no bugs = sweet deal

The worst hotel I’ve ever been to in my life. I gagged and nearly vomited everytime I walked in the hallways. It smells like urine, wet dog, & cigarettes. The rooms look nothing like the pictures they advertise. The tv showed a naked woman because it connects to one of the staffs photo memories & my 4 year old nephew was in the room which was highly upsetting. The towels and bathroom smelled. The toilet was not cleaned neither was the bathtub it had hair and dark stains & something that looked like blood on the toilet. This hotel is beyond disgusting I understand it’s a motel 6 but it would at least be considerate to provide a clean area for your guest. I’d spend an extra 300 and go anywhere else.

Front desk guy was very nice, room was very clean. No fridge or microwave 👎 worth the price.

Room was ok and clean. Late night front desk person was friendly and helpful. TV didn't work correctly, no instructions in room. Called front desk but wasn't much help either. No TV for stay. Luckily it was late night, and I just went to sleep.

This was the smallest motel room I have ever been in. The floors were still not yet all the way dry upon check in. The bed sucked--- not a lick of support. This place is kind of screwed up. I was happy to see Libertyville Police circle the parking lot several times randomly as there were a ton of sketchy people in an otherwise normal, safe, fun area.

Their beds are really comfy & so are the pillows. I usually have problems sleeping somewhere other than home however I fell asleep easily here

The lady at the front desk threatened to call the police on me for being 5 min after check out. Then she extorted for 10 dollars, if I didn’t give her $10 then I would end up in jail . Geez good morning, how are you this morning , sorry to bother so much this early.. just saying

Was woken up by one of the managers to tell me that they needed to change the window in my room. Only after I said that it was a huge inconvenience and asked why I wasn’t told of this when I checked in did he say it’s ok we will go to another room. I was already awaken and I by that point it was no point. Just bad management.

Made a reservation, got a call a few minutes later to say they were cancelling it because they had no rooms available but failed to update that with Hotels.com. Turns out they didn't cancel and tried to pocket the money, Hotels.com had to figure it out and credit me. Not a good experience, look for a more honest option in Chicago.

I understand that toothbrush and toothpaste are complimentary but if there are 3 people in a room why would the receptionist only want to give 1? The room was paid for by us not by the state or state programs. Receptionist argued that the owner only allows 1 to be given per room. Still trying to make sense of this. She did call owner and then mumbled underneath her breath, was rude and not just with me but my family.

We had a decent stay. Check in was smooth with no issue. Our room was clean as well. If you’re looking for a place to come back to rest I recommend this place. The entrance is a bit confusing but you can figure it out. The place also needs to be renovated. It was also pretty quiet at night. We only experienced noise once when someone was yelling outside and dogs were going crazy, and at times the hallways would smell like cigarette smoke. That’s about it.

The room was great, only 2 things from my stay. The light above the sink near the entrance no way I could turn it off. The second was no housekeeping I stayed 2 nights, I believe there should have been house keeping, but I’m not sure. Trash was still there etc. other than that great service, hotel is under renovation so dont expect breakfast. I would stay again, very close to welcome center and RTC Navy graduation which is why I stayed.

There was construction going on. It was across the road from a new Holiday inn & there was a beautiful new neighborhood behind the property. But there was no place to hang out outside because the property seemed to have vagrants

I find the corner location off a busy street intersection makes accessing the property difficult. I've stayed here before and I always miss the driveway into the lot. There is no access on Milwaukee Ave only the blind driveway past the gas station around the corner. The updated rooms are simple and clean. The paint scheme is cheerful and welcoming. It's an older motel and appears well maintained. The parking lot condition is a bit rough. For the value conscious it is good place stay.

Do not recommend. Long wait to check in even though no line. Room only had beds and a tv. No where looked super clean. No breakfast, fridge or microwave. Garbages outside overflowing.

No fridge in the room, they don't even give you coffee. There was rust on the bathroom door frame which made it look dirty. I don't expect the best for this price but there are basics which should be included.
