I can usually count on Embassy Suites to deliver a good stay wherever I travel. This trip was "okay"...some things done well, others not so much. The staff was friendly and helpful, the restaurant was much the same and the food was good. Our room was quiet each night. It was clean and cleaned each day. BUT... going up the stairway from the food area to the 2nd floor revealed a desperate need for maintenance as the carpet on stairs was torn, dirty, worn out and in places had been pulled or torn from the floor. Many of the lights on the risers were broken or ajar. It really looked like a bad staircase in a poor urban area and not in a nice, mid-range hotel. Our room was mostly nice enough, however, the tub liner was cracked which of course led to water being beneath the liner resulting in a "squishy" feel. The tub did not drain well and after a 5 minute shower there was 2 to 3 inches of standing water. This led to a near-fall by my wife who, we speculate, slipped on soap that had settled to the liner after having floated on the standing water. Also, the sink/counter area appeared "unhinged" from the wall in places and there were noticeable gaps in seams. So, I'd give the property itself a C and the rest of it an A- to B+. But you really do need to pay attention to maintenance of the property. It will affect our decision of where to stay during subsequent travel.

The staff was great! The hotel pool needs a little help. It smelled , and the smell was stronger by the hot tub. Hopefully, they can figure that out. They had a very nice hot breakfast though and the bed was comfortable.
