Nicely updated hotel. Worth paying the few extra dollars at booking for the breakfast. Only complaints would be the noisy elevators (a bit concerning) and the dirty floors in the room. Just because the floors are hardwood doesn’t mean they don’t need to be vacuumed every day.

Clean, renovated room. Hotel has a nice bar, plenty of parking. Love Bonvoy!

Wonderful ovation with access to highway with a fantastic breakfast. They permanently closed their indoor swimming pool which was my family’s favorite! Overall friendly and welcoming staff at the front desk to the restaurant to the club level!

We stayed here to attend the concert at Ravinia. The hotel provided the shuttle to take us to the concert venue and pick us up after it was over. This was a great service.

Functional hotel, elevators need serious care, loud metallic clonk noises at every floor, loudest air conditioner fan I ever heard, overall worn and not well maintained (hallway carpeting done, windows dirty, damaged and leaking shower hardware, etc)

Be aware no pool tv at the gym doesn’t work

Terrible experience….was stuck on a floor w teenage girls having a rertreat…it was extremely noisy well into the night…other customers were complaining as well…then they moved us to a higher floor and when we got into the elevator it dropped a floor and we got stuck for 5mins…! Then when i mentioned it to the front desk they said they KNEW the elevator was broken…and fave us a free breakfast! LMAO! What a joke!

Pro: Really helpful staff! Con: loud ice machine outside of our door.

Hotel had a free shuttle to The Pavilion at Ravinia and came back to pick us up with towels when we got soaked in a hard rain. Excellent service and the hotel was very affordable.

not real clean

Check in took 10 minutes even though I booked online and paid. Tv and internet didn't work all night. Shower wall had soap stains and god knows what else on it. Not clean. $210 for one night for a crappy stay. I wish I could get my money back.

Seemed like there are major housekeeping issues at this property. We had to wait in the lobby for over and hour for a clean room, and when we got to the room the body wash and conditioner bottles were completely empty. Also the lotion was previously used and was half empty. Also, the AC was incredibly loud and the toilet splashed water outside the bowl whenever it was flushed. There was an event going on at the hotel and loud music could be heard clearly up in our room until almost 11pm.

I found a bug on the bed of the hotel. After calling the customer service, I got a pillow at 11 p.m. an hour later. The room is not clean, and there are still paper towels used by previous guests in the trash can. Breakfast and Wi-Fi are charged separately, and mineral water is not provided in the room.

Always my first choice of where to stay when visiting family in Chicago. From the friendly front desk (welcome after the long drive in) to the comfortable and clean rooms, to the nice breakfast, a stay never disappoints. Really like the new, remodeled rooms and architecture.

Just an overnight but it was comfy and clean. Happy staff!

Bathroom needs more attention when cleaning. We found hair in our sink and shower.

Room was extremely dirty. We were told housekeeping would clean our room while we stepped out and when we came back it hadn’t been cleaned - there was a price of salami on the floor. They switched our room the next day and offered us breakfast/coffee to make up for it. The room they switched us to had bed bugs. DO NOT STAY HERE. Save yourself the hassle and stay somewhere else.

I’ve stayed at this property for work 6 times in the past 2 months. One stay I had to call the front desk twice to request the shower be properly cleaned. There were long strands of hair clinging to the shower walls (I have a buzz cut, so I know not mine). And on my latest stay, there were clipped toenails on the bathroom floor when I first arrived. The hotel management may want to consider more thorough cleaning routines to the housekeeping team members.

Their bedding is simply amazing, so comfortable and luxurious. I always sleep better at the Renaissance than I do when I'm at home.

Overall nice hotel, good location, lots of parking, big rooms and a large tv. Annoying wifi connection protocol, annoying periodic error message for netflix on the smart tv. ( i say this only because "netflix" was included in the room )

The room was really nice and the bed very comfortable, but the noise was unbearable. There was an adjoining room and you could hear the occupants' conversations. The doors slam shut loudly. I could hear people in the hall talking all night, and there was stomping from the room above me. I can't quite blame the hotel for these things, as it was otherwise very nice and clean, but I wish it was better soundproofed. I barely slept all night!

The Renaissance was great. The only complaint I had, and the reason why I only gave 4 stars instead of 5 was because the lighting in the room was horrible. Room(s) are extremely dark and dont have enough light options. What light options they do have, all have separate switches and are not connected to a generic switch on a wall - so you have to walk to each individual light to turn them on/off

We stayed here last year and it seems like the property needs to be renovated as well as the rooms/bathrooms. Not sure if we were on an older side or not but the carpet is worn, dated and dirty. We took advantage of the breakfast buffet which was pretty decent. However, the service was poor.

The staff was so helpful and let me check in earlt, which let me prep for my meeting in comfort and get a shower in after an early flight. So appreciated!

Front desk staff arent great. We arrived at 3:50pm on Wednesday with a 4pm check in. When we arrived they said our room wasnt ready yet and could put us in an "upgraded junior suite". We went up to this room and it was indeed smaller than the room we originally booked. Not sure what they were trying to do there. We came back down and requested the room we booked and we would wait. They then said it would be AT LEAST an hour. At this point it was 4:05pm. We said we would wait at the bar. We got a drink and before we even had a sip of said drink, the front desk came by with our room key. So what was at least an hour became 5 min. It was clear they wanted us to take the smaller room for some reason. What the reason was is unclear.

This was hands down the BEST hotel experience I have ever had, and have had in a long time. Immediately upon entering the hotel, the staff was so warm and welcoming. I was traveling alone, so this is especially important to feel safe and welcomed. However, even if I wasn’t traveling alone, I believe I would still feel that welcome and support, as this seems like a genuine priority for them. I got into town a couple of hours early before checkin, and they graciously found me a room to check in early. This was especially so helpful because I was so tired from my travels. The hotel is beautiful, and the room is aesthetically pleasing as well. The shopping and convenience stores are walkable, however their shuttle service will take you anywhere within a 5 mile radius. For the days I stayed, they would take me to the train station to travel into downtown Chicago, which was wonderful. There are even some attractions and activities close by that the shuttle is willing to take you to. Overall, it’s a wonderful hotel stay with wonderful staff. I’d recommend this to anyone who is looking for a great experience and good hotel stay.

I've been staying at this hotel for the last 4 years every time I'm in Chicago. Usually it's been good, but this stay broke the mold in every way. From the basics of being a hotes: 1. The first day they didn't clean at all, we followed up and it still didn't happen. 2. The second day, they cleaned the way my 13 YO would if I told her she couldn't leave the house unless she cleaned her room. They made the bed (with original crumpled bedding) and replaced the towels. There was a coffee stain on the floor, the sink was dirty, etc. Again, I asked for cleaning, and nothing happened. It wasn't until the 3rd day of the stay that they cleaned the room. 3. There is a pantry next to Reception. I had an early morning call and grabbed an iced tea from the pantry right in front of reception where the employee was on the phone. Sat down to take my call. When the employee got off the call he yelled to me for my room number. I pointed out that I was on the call by pointing to the computer and my headphones. He walked over to me and demanded the room number while I was still on the call. I again pointed out that I was on the call, but he continued to stand there. I left the iced tea, grabbed my computer, and headed outside to finish the call. The employee followed, and as I walked through the revolving door, he pushed the door, trying to block it. I had to hang up the call and call the police to prevent the situation from escalating and stop him from harassing me. The manager later appo

I liked the friendliness and excellent customer service and want to commend Kathleen and Dani at the front desk. They were very helpful in recommending a taxi service to take me to the airport and arranging for it to pick me up at the exact time needed.

Was centrally located between Northwestern and the Chicago Botanic Gardens, both of which we were visiting. Hotel itself was fancier than I imagined with really cute decor. Some people in the hall were a bit noisy one evening and could hear people outside in the parking lot talking very clearly even though we were on the second floor. Didn't bother me much though. Pillows and bed were extremely comfy!

Very nice hotel inside. The staff was very helpful. The free shuttle to anywhere local was awesome, though didn’t start until 7am so we had to Uber to catch our flight. There was no lawn or pool, no real place to relax outside, but the botanical gardens are only five minute drive and absolutely stunning. Highly recommend staying here and visiting the gardens and catching a show at Ravinia Festival

The location is not near anything. You have to jump on the highway to get anywhere. But for us we just needed a nice room to stay the night in town for a work function. Check in was smooth, staff was nice, but when I asked if housekeeping could bring up a lint brush to our room or if there was a gift shop on site to buy one, house keeping did not provide stuff like that and there is no shop. Fine no big deal. The room was nice but the couch was not comfortable. The bed/mattress was comfortable but the noisy wood platform it was on made noise every time you moved. The bathroom was ok but the water pressure in the shower was weak and the toilet was low to the ground which was uncomfortable for me at 6'3. The biggest issue was how thin the walls were, you could people talking in other rooms plain as day. Same thing with hearing anything in the hallway. When you walked down the hallway you could hear what was going on in any room, not good if you hoping for some discrete adult time. So overall it wasn't the best but also not the worst just meh...

Nice hotel very close to Winnetka where we went for a music festival. Very conveniently located close to the the highways. The staff was extremely helpful, on more than one occasion. Interesting art around the common areas.

Our waiter Andre was a bright spot each morning. He was engaging and prompt. We have no complaints about the room or hotel. Even the elevators were all working and quick to our floor.

This hotel is very over priced for the condition. They charge for wifi. They told me it’s because they’re a top end elite hotel. The service and the restaurant was horrible. Our door lock broke and they said they fixed it and they didn’t and we had to sleep without a lock on the door. The room in bed were comfortable, but the bathroom was very small. It almost unusable. The water heat would constantly vary from hot to cold. I enjoyed the staff. They did try hard

The room was great! It was in an ideal location for everything that we had going on for the weekend. Unfortunately due to an issue with the 3rd party that I booked thru, I essentially had to pay 2x for the entire hotel stay and wait until we checked out before the refund would hit my account but that was the only issue. The restaurant on site was wonderfully delicious as well.

Hotel staff was unsure about the breakfast credit we paid for in advance. She never followed back up. Breakfast for $20.00 a person with minimum eating option. Breakfast checkout was horrible and the gentleman working the counter was very judgmental. He assumed we couldn't pay for 2 additional Breakfasts but that totally wasn't the case. Will not be revisiting.

Loved our shuttle driver (bald guy). Super fun and friendly. Perfect for our drive to the Lenny Kravitz concert. Bar area was a fun vibe Beds were SO comfy!
