Residence Inn Baton Rouge South

The hotel elevator has been BROKEN DOWN FOR THREE WEEKS. MARRIOTT cannot or would not get it fixed. I had a third floor “suite” with heavy luggage and equipment. The back doors were unlocked at night, and a homeless encampment is near the hotel.

The staff was so friendly and helpful! We arrived four hours early and they were able to help is find a room available so we can get settled to go out and do things in the area. The pool looked very clean and even had rafts available to use. The hot tub had little to no water and was very dirty but thankfully we weren't planning on going in it. The exercise room had complimentary waters and towels to use which I find very rare in hotels. The room itself was very cozy but the shower we didn't want to use due to the wall falling off where the shower head was. And the front rooms TV wouldn't let us play our nintendo switch without the volume being in 100 and we couldn't fix it...so we never played any games. And the front tv wouldn't connect to the free wifi provided to watch netflix. The bedrooms tv worked well though so that was a plus.

When we were there, the pool AND the hot tub were both not working. We were not aware of this before hand, considering it would alter our choice of hotel we’d stay at. Great breakfast with very kind employees. Overall a decent stay, but could’ve been better.

Maintenance was over worked resulting in rooms not properly maintained and projects not finished!

I normally wouldn’t complain unless I had major issues with a property. 1 Receptionist wasn’t customer-friendly 2 We had to move room because AC unit wasn’t working 3 Eye sore-large dumpster in parking lot with old mattress 4 safety concern- doors around perimeter were wedged open 5 Hotel advertised for guest the pool hours on Courtesy Bags… However the pool had multiple issues & wasn't operable for the public 6 The new room we moved to had multiple malfunctions. The fridge made ongoing loud noises, the 2nd bedroom had water & shower head problems. When speaking with the management, he attempted to try to address each issue. The main point: You can’t charge the customer higher prices if the organization needs to remodel/update the basics. It’s tough coming across 2 states to stay in a hotel that feels unsafe & can not rest well

The place seems like it old and could use some upgrades.You could smell weed smoke in the hallway outside door leading into the building don't secure

Very disappointing stay at the Residence Inn by Marriott. So many "little" things ruined our weekend. The pool was closed, the printer was out of toner, our air conditioning wouldn't go lower than 77°, our room smelled musty, the shower head didn't work, 3 light switches controlled nothing, we asked for fans and were brought one clean fan and one absolutely filthy fan that wreaked of chemicals, there was water leaking from the ceiling in the hallway on Friday, the floor was soaking wet, there were 3 trash cans put out to catch water and were still there on Sunday morning, one of the exterior doors was held open by a small twig because the card reader didn't work, the wall decor had water damage, the mirrors were damaged all along the sides, the bedroom door didn't close properly without being forced, the TV didn't work, there were tears in the curtains, the caulk around the kitchen sink needs attention and there was mold on the wooden containers in the breakfast area. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone or stay here in the future.

Pool was out of service. Grounds werent well kept. First floor always smelled like weed. I had to ask for additional towels and toilet paper. The phones did not work in the room and mold was in the bathroom ceiling.

Staff did an excellent job accommodating me. The AC did not work in my 1st room. 2nd room smelled like Mildew but 3rd room on 2nd floor was fine. The high grass in front of the hotel was not a very welcoming site.

Only 2 doors worked to enter/exit. I noticed people propped open doors, thats unsafe and made the hallways hot. I noticed a lot of garbage in the back parking lot. I thought the guys that worked the front desk were professional. I liked the size of my room and the ac worked well.

I always try to stay in a Residence Inn whenever possible. I like the option of a full size refrigerator and a microwave. I have cooked in the available kitchen in the past. Unfortunately, this particular Residence Inn was wholly disappointing. Unclean, unkempt and overall lack of attention to detail. This Residence Inn was the worst RI I have purchased a room with. I also believe it is the worst 3-star hotel I have experienced. The ceiling in the bathroom had mold on 1/4 of the entire surface. The carpet looked as if it had been repaired, but the repair did not match. If this were a 1- or 2- star hotel, some of disrepair could be overlooked, as long as the room was clean and bug-free. Additionally, the were some individuals playing basketball in the outdoor court, directly next to the hotel. These individuals were playing until past 10pm and if we hadn't said something to the front desk, I believed they would have continued into the night. The bed (king) was acceptable, but that is perhaps the only positive point I am able to put forth. I will never (!) stay at this RI again. I am also a member of Hilton Hotels and have yet to experience such disrespect toward a customer, by having a facility in such a condition as this RI.

Room was very clean and spacious. Air temperature was easy to control and worked excellent. Staff were very friendly. Grounds and building well kept.

The bedding was dirty with pee and hair all over the sheets. the grounds were not mowed, grass was super high and weeds everywhere. The room smelled like mold

The staff was great. Very friendly and had great customer service. However, we found three roaches in our room and there were gnats.

Been staying in this hotel for years. But enough is enough. The sheets had gum attached to it. Room was smelly, not enough towels, only small ones. Closet door in bad shape, this hotel needs to be remodeled asap!

The lobby smells like marijuana, the tv didn't work, and the shower was clogged. Whenever I went to the front desk, there was no one there. The coffee at breakfast was always empty, as well as the milks. The food was gross too. One wall in my room had some kind of stains of something spilled on it, and there were old stains on the ceiling throughout the suite. Worst Mariott experience ever. So much so that I left a night early.

Was everything I expected. Nice location of property within a few minutes from blue bayou, the mall, even top golf which was all the hits of my trip. Separate bedrooms and bathrooms was very nice. Few things could be updated here and there but was not disappointed at all. Will be staying again. Very great price considering two bedrooms two bath and even a kitchen

The condition of the room was not up to par with other residence inns. Mom found stains on mattress for the pull out couch. The tv in the bedroom didn’t work. The bathtub wouldn’t fill up with water. The doors were hard to close.

Great breakfast, thin walls so kind of noisy. Room was clean but shower wasn't the best because not all the water came out of the top and there were staples sticking up where the carpet met the tile so we had to put a towel over. Room was spacious!

Second time staying. Suite rooms with two bedrooms and living room are great for large or two families. Good breakfasts. Property needs some updates in carpet, door knobs, tv remotes, etc.

Was traveling w the in laws and this was a perfect unexpected stop. Was able to get a 2 bedroom 2 bath snd it worked out fantastically , area was safe and well lit , room was clean and comfy, front desk was friendly and efficient

My room had 2 TVs and neither one of them worked. My in room phone did not work. I logged in to my Netflix and wasn’t able to log it back out after downloading a universal remote app on my phone to use the tv. There was dirt and trash behind the nightstands. The bathroom tissue holder was broken.

Best thing about this stay was the helpful and friendly front desk staff!

Stayed for 10 days was great stay. Kitchen had everything needed. Staff was excellent and very helpful.

The front desk attendant when we arrived was very personable and accommodating. We arrived after 10p and her shift was about to end but she made sure that we were well taken care of before her shift ended. Loved the location and look forward to coming back to this location whenever we come to Baton Rouge.

I have rented a filthy suite and I have tried to share that with the manager , it took 4 days for me to voice my concerns to the manager , they are aware of the problems and have been trying to fix it

As a a frequent Marriott member I was disappointed in the quality of this Marriott and the lack of hospitality and staff. We had problems with getting our room cleaned each day and getting towels and it was just not the type of quality that Marriott has at most of there other hotels

The staff were excellent. One morning it was raining…as I was walking out the front door a staff member was walking in and offered to walk me to my car because I didn’t have an umbrella. They were constantly welcoming and making sure things were going well.

This hotel was overall great, the staff was extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating when it came to us asking for a late checkout so we didn’t have to go sit at the airport all day. It is in a very convenient location, definitely walking distance to a lot of places to eat, sightsee and just wonder around, there was always scooters available so that was amazing. I would rate our experience a 10/10, we will definitely be back!

I visit Baton Rouge twice a year and keep going back to this hotel. It has a kitchen and I can buy food from Wal-Mart, just 0.25 miles away. There's a mall about 2 miles away. It's accessible to the I-10. The staff is friendly and the room isn't as humid as other hotels in Baton Rouge.

Breakfast was great. The location was by lots of great restaurants. The beds were comfortable. Didn't like the idea of walking through the bedrooms to get to the bathroom. Loved the vent in the bathroom!

Great service by Traquencia at Front De. Very helpful and good breakfast. Location on I10 is convenient with Walmart, Sams Club, Gas Stations and restaurants in close proximity.

We really enjoyed the breakfast and walking distances for food. This was a really good location for a hotel in general, mall was just a couple miles down road and plenty of restaurants in immediate area

It was great. The staff was exceptional. The breakfast was really good and diverse. Many options. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I had a great experience here.

The bathroom had long hair on the shower flor and stick on the bathroom door, the ice maker never make the ice, the bed was very conformable. On the morning, i was told the breakfast star at 6:00, but was late. The staff on the cafeteria never apologies or at least notice we was there

Our room was right above a picnic table that was frequently used even after midnight for weed smoke session…basketball goal was next to picnic area which was kind of annoying. This property is obviously older cause our room had moldy spots. Breakfast options were limited to only pork sausage on sandwich and bacon, so that was disappointing.

There’s a dishwasher and stove in room. Pull out sofa is comfortable and convenient. Love that they always have makeup removal wipes cause I tend to forget to pack mine. Breakfast is top of the line.
