Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Frederick

This was my first hotel stay in 3 years, and I was looking forward to quiet luxury, but the Fairfield wasn't it. When I arrived at the Fairfield, there was yellow tape completely surrounding the entrance, with no signage of where I should go to get in. I parked and walked around the building and found a side entrance propped open by the construction workers, so went in there. The entire 1st floor seemed to be under construction. There was a not-very-friendly clerk who checked me in, who with no other explanation said there is construction, a breakfast bar (didn't say where it was in the building) but that we could also use across the parking lot's hotel for breakfast, and handed me my room keys with no guidance of where to park or apologies for the inconvenience of the construction. The room itself was fine: updated and clean. Nice shower waterpressure (although I was hoping for a bathtub to soak), but the room was clean. Mattress was not the most supportive. The breakfast across the parking lot in the Residence Inn was fabulous: lots of hot choices and GREAT belgium waffles. At check out the clerk apologized for any inconvenince but said the construction was posted on the website. I looked for it, and yes, it is there but not prominent-if you scroll down the page it is 'Reno' and short desciription. Easy to miss, and why not put that front and center in bigger letters, with Renovation spelled out, with directions where to park? Or, close it completely during renovations?

Pool and gym were under renovation. Would have selected a different hotel if we had been told this in advance.

Efficient, clean room, plenty of towels and wash clothes, easy parking and convenient on site store.

I like having a Gym and pool to use. Breakfast was good as well.

Beautiful facilitites! We loved the pool - especially since there was no chlorine and it was cleaned with other chemcials / minerals. The weight room was great as well. Perhaps adding a running machine where you choose your own pace woudl be nice so my kids could run at the same time, on different machines. Please have the waffle maker every day, especially on holidays like the 4th of July when we stayed there. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful, brought two roll out beds to our rooms!

Went for a family event. Check in was smooth. Only issue was the elevator being out of service. Not a big deal for us but I could see it being an issue for others

Nothing fancy, but it was clean, and the breakfast was very good. The fitness center was closed, but we were able to use the gym at the neighboring hotel which is only a few steps away. I would stay here again.

I really liked staying at this property. It was in a nice area with ample security and parking. There was a shopping center nearby with multiple restaurants. The only regret I had was that there were no amenities available. The pool is permanently closed. The fitness center was closed as well as the business center. Otherwise, very nice.

Recently stayed with truck and 18’ trailer, safe and accommodating.

The price was right. However, I found a reddish fast moving bug in the bathroom that I think was a cockroach. I am not making this up.

Hotel was exceptionally clean. I really liked that.

There was no soap in the body wash dispenser. The position of all the dispensers was inconsiderate for those of us who do not take showers, but prefer baths

Bed sheets are dirty. Period stains.

Room not very clean. Bathroom no clean at all.

Liked that the toilet and shower were separate from the sink area so others could still get ready if someone was in the shower. Had a nice breakfast. Huge shopping center within walking distance with eats, groceries, movie theatre, and clothing stores. Quiet and comfy. Def will stay again.

The hotel looked much nicer online than in person. Pros: very nice hot breakfast including breakfast sandwiches, pleasant woman at front desk, shower water pressure Cons: cockroach found in pool area, pool area not as clean as pictured, no microwave in rooms, small bath area, ac units louder than others , only 3 pillows per queen size bed

The property was exceptional in its cleanliness and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The breakfast was included in the rates and the choices were good. Check out was a breeze.

The room was perfectly clean! Everything about our stay was great. The girls at the front desk were pleasant and friendly! Would definitely stay here again!

Noisy…room was near the dumpsters and they got emptied between 4am and 5 at least three times while we stayed there

Basic property, decent size rooms. Loud, could hear moving in floor above and hallways. Short shower head placement. Wasn’t impressed by breakfast options (tried only a muffin), some restaurants across highway, not easily walked too (even with crosswalk).

Clean room, comfortable bed. Felt like a safe location. Would definitely stay again!

Close to shopping and dining. Room was good. Shower had loose handle, notified the staff and they said they would fix it and apologized for the inconvenience. All in all, a nice place to stay.

Property was old and tired. Very quiet between rooms however

Nice size room. Clean. Comfortable bed. Pleasant staff. Loved the shower, small but had amazing water pressure. Bathroom itself was small. Sink was outside of the bath/toilet area. Lighting over sink is way too dim. I didn’t like shaving there, can’t imagine someone trying to put their makeup on there. Heating unit was very efficient but very loud. Woke me up at 2:00 a.m. I thought someone was using the laundry in the room next door and the washer was unbalanced. Left before breakfast was served so can’t comment on that.

We enjoyed the hotel but the breakfast was not that great. Not many options, no good fresh fruit except apples. We only ate there the 1st day, then went to breakfast out the rest of the time. Also the rooms had no microwaves - had to go downstairs to the breakfast area to heat things up….

Clean room. Spacious. Good breakfast. Sufficient towels for 2 adults. Shower worked well. This was a good stay.

Everything was good for the most part. We would have preferred a microwave oven in the room. The dresser drawers would continuously slide open about 6 inches making it somewhat hazardous. Also the ice machine was right outside our room which was a bit annoying when it was used late at night or early morning.

Reception was not too friendly checking in. Friendly checking out ( different person) Rooms ok , breakfast good, location good

The reception area staffs were helping and pleasant. I didn't like that the house keeping didn't clean the room during my stay.

Your staff are AMAZING! Derrick was so professional, nice and went out of his way to be so helpful. Everyone we interacted with were friendly but Derrick stood out:)

The young lady working the night shift was very patient very kind and extremely helpful. Just what a weary traveler needed after a long day on the road. Thank you

Front desk staff was rude when we had to ask for 2 extra towels over 5 day stay because housekeeping never came. We actually requested housekeeping during check in to same guy and never got it. Guy seemed frustrated with a baseball team staying in hotel lobby all day and night and snapped at us instead. Dude probably isn’t paid enough but still focus your energy to the right people. Breakfast station constantly had something broken and hot food unavailable by 8am most mornings. Charged us for the free WiFi as if we chose “premium speed” option. Rooms were fine and blocked out noise well. Overall extremely disappointing stay that clearly seems to be a result of lack of and/or poor staffing. I’d recommend choosing another property if in Frederick, a majority or in similar price range or less.

Property is clean and beautiful. Check-in was a breeze and personnel are very helpful.

This was a nice, easy stay. There were convenient restaurants nearby, the buffet in the morning was a step up from the usual hotel buffet, the amenities in the room were solid. I’d stay here for work again.

We enjoyed a convenient and easily accessible location, and comfortable, clean and quiet room. The breakfast was top notch as well.
