La Quinta by Wyndham Columbia / Fort Meade

I’ll start with the staff. Both check in and checkout went smoothly and both staff members were kind and polite. The corridors smelled a little musty and our room as well. I originally booked this hotel because the pictures showed LVT flooring in the bedrooms but when we walked in the LVT stopped at the bathroom and the rest was carpet. I am highly allergic to dust mites so I avoid carpet like the plague. This was disappointing but there was no point in complaining to the staff as this is not something that can be changed. Some other issues were: 1. The peep hole on the door was blocked with a piece of tissue. When we removed it we noticed the peep hole was broken and you couldn’t really get a view of the corridor. 2. There was trash behind our TV. 3. The shampoo dispenser in the shower was broken although they did place the little bottles of shampoo on top of the sink I guess to make up for the large broken one. 4. The faucet was wobbly. 5. The pillows felt weird. Like it had little chunks of foam instead of a uniform, solid material. 6. The bed was okay, a little too soft for me but that’s a me preference. 7. The AC unit was loud. So we didn’t really get a good night sleep because it would make a loud noise every time it started up. All and all, it is a 2 star hotel but the maintenance could be improved but what was annoying was the carpet flooring. That’s not what the picture of their rooms when making the reservation showed.

Breakfast was great. Enjoyed my stay.

It was very hard to get info to cancel. You call they send you to the site. The site send you some where else. Very confusing and annoying.

Disappointed no coffee until 7am

Staff took our towels and made the bed but never brought us fresh towels. Even sent a request for more. Also the toilet seat looked like a dog chewed it all up.
