Booked room for relaxing night for me and my husband for pool and watching the football game. Checked in and was told to virtually check in. Called the front desk to find out how late the pool was open and they informed me that it was under construction (even though that was my filtered search “pool”. We thought how nice it was to have a restaurant/bar at the hotel and the male bartender was so rude. We left and watched the game at another restaurant. Came back to the hotel after the game to relax and watch tv, and 4x’s had young hockey players knocking on our doors and ditching - not relaxing or worth our money and time. Disappointed 😤

We arrived late and check-in was quick and easy. Staff very friendly. Overall the rooms are dated and bathrooms need an update, but for the price you can't beat all the amenities (pool, fitness, bar) and the location near the highway.

The staff was friendly and the beds were comfortable, but the towel rack fell off the wall and the shower handles were lose and the pol was being renovated so we couldn’t use it.

Breakfast was excellent. Bar was nice and service was very good. . Grounds outside parking had excessive litter, probably from the adjacent highway. Wind was blowing garbage around the parking lot. Not a good look, but especially considering the price.

I had stayed at this hotel on many occasions. Unfortunately, the hotel is in very bad shape. The carpets are dirty, one elevator does not work and the other one is always busy and makes a noise as if it is going to stop working any moment. The cleaning services is awful. They only made the beds but did not clean the bathroom or vacuum the carpet. They left the dirty towels on the bathroom floor. For the night price we payed for this hotel they don’t even have a complimentary bottle of water. At checkout the lady had walked out of the front desk and a gentleman tried to find her while we wait. So sad that this used to be a favorite hotel but the quality has gone down.

I would have rated this higher, but the cleaning staff did not come to our room even though we were out all day. So we returned for our second night, and had no clean towels, no tissues, no coffee, very little toilet paper, and unmade beds. We saw the cleaning staff in the hallway when we left in the morning, and again later in the afternoon. There was no reason they could not have cleaned our room or at least replenished our supplies.

They were tearing the roof when we arrived and the smell was horrible. Also the property was not that clean garbage in stairwells, parking lot. We would not stay again. Front desk staff upon check in where terribly rude when we inquired about the smell. We were glad we only stayed 1 night would not have stayed longer

The room wasn’t ready at 4:30 so we left and returned unfortunately I would have waited even longer because the carpet was so stained it was probably the worst I’ve ever seen. It felt like it needed to be replaced and the common areas had carnage and leaves blown in and just looked horrible There was carpet that was covered in cardboard perhaps a leak. The entire place needed a refresh

Staff was 5 stars—super nice. Everything else was a mess. Blood on sheets, blood on hairdryer bag (how?) mirror falling off the wall, a toilet designed for a kindergartner.. overall very nasty for a double tree

Stayed only one night for my grandson's basketball tournament. Beds were so comfortable!!! Hotel and room was very clean. Staff were very helpful.We will definitely stay again.

Bathroom way to small. The toilet height is children size.....seriously have executive mgmt sit down on one of them and tell me that is comfortable.....ridiculous! No fan in bathroom...really!@$^.....BTW the famous chocolate cookies at check in were warm mush.....heated soggy dough.....not crispy like the last Doubletree I stayed in Bay City, MI

Just average. No closet in our room. The refrigerator froze all of our food because the door for the freezer was missing and the buffet was not worth the money. We requested the room to be cleaned for just one of the days during our stay and beds were thrown together. Overall nothing was a big deal but just not what I expected for a Hilton.

Last night, my husband and I were ready to relax and watch a movie on Netflix. But the hotel doesn't carry Netflix. We would have had to log into our own account. Well, I don't take my passwords on vacation with me. The room was not cheap. But it seems short-sighted and cheap of the hotel to not offer an easy-to-find movie channel. come on ....

Our room was exceptionally tiny. Including the bathroom. My 14 year old daughter bought some sodas from downstairs and the man that waited on her wouldn’t give her change when she paid in cash for the sodas. While walking on the sidewalk of the hotel at night, my daughters and I observed a man in a first floor room with his curtains wide open, watching pornographic videos on his laptop at the desk. Overall not a great stay.

The man who checked us in was very rude and condescending to us. We waited as he helped the person in front of us and was very polite and offered a complimentary cookie given to everyone at check-in, however, once it was our turn to talk to him, it was as if I were witnessing Jekyll and Hyde. Once attaining our room keys, we proceeded to our room where the air conditioner was blasting and the buttons on the heater were broken so we called the front desk of which another man answered the phone who after lengthy conversation of what was wrong, came to our room to fix the issue. Once in the room, he started bickering with my mother who suggested they put a note on the air conditioner to show that there is a different place to adjust everything. Where a suggestion was given and could\'ve been taken as a "I will suggest that", he instead decided to tell us that people should just have the common sense to look around and see that there\'s the thermostat on the wall. This led to us feeling insulted by this employee and he left with an attitude from our room. Needless to say, there are other hotels in Ann Arbor that are much nicer and for the same price on Hotels.com. So, avoid this place for the terrible customer service that you will receive and save yourself the trouble of dealing with angry men who feel the need to take their stress out on guests.

This property is overall not in great shape. Understaffed on one of the busiest weekends. Front desk staffed by the most rude person ever. Tried to make a change for my reservation before check-in, within the allowed timeframe but was repeatedly put on hold, call was dropped, was promised a call back that never happened. Manager at front desk unfriendly, not knowledgeable and plain rude throughout the stay. Ended up leaving early (which I tried to change before check-in), no refund, paid for theee rooms and two nights extra. Never again!

Main reason for the overall lower score was on our first night we were on bed at around 11:00 at night when someone walked into our room! Their room key let them into our room! It was a real shock to both her and us. We called the front desk and were told a large group had just checked in and there had been a mixup in room keys.

We stayed in the hotel 3 nights. The staff was not helpful at all. The lobby smelled of gasoline because of roofing work. I asked for my room to be cleaned one out of the 3 days. On that day, we came back at noon and saw that the roon was not clean. The cleaning cart was just 2 rooms away. So we left and came back at 4 pm and still the room was not cleaned. When i called the front desk, i was told that occupied rooms would get cleaned at the end of the shift. I said when is that? The guy said it's 5 pm. I said i was never told that and of all the hotels i stayed at, that's never been the case. For the fumes that were making me dizzy and afraid to eat at the onsite restaurant for breakfast, and the lack of room cleaning, can you give me a hotel credit? The guy said take it up with expedia because you booked with them. Not helpful. Then i went downstairs later to get some wash cloths and garbage bags. I asked for coffee from the coffee dispenser. Can you believe it's $3 and the guy said we don't offer complimentary coffee here. Hello! You want a bad review instead, I asked. The guy asked for my room number and looked away. I told him it'd be such a small gesture. He ignored me. There needs to be better customer service here.

Wife had surgery at U of M Ann Arbor and I called asking for ground floor close to room, they provide a room at the end of the hall not 50 feet from my parking spot. It’s often the little things that mean so much to a customer. Room was clean and updated and the staff was truly helpful ( not just saying that because of the warm chocolate chip cookies they gave me at check in) Price was very good however I did discover that if your stay is related to family members treatment at U of M and you book through hotel directly there is a sizable discount available. Again staff couldn’t have treated us any better and i would recommend it highly.

Location was excellent for a U of M visit. Not the best Hilton brand hotel I've been too - bit below average for the brand. There was a strong odor from either an adhesive or petroleum product in the hallway. It smelled like an auto repair shop. I am not sure if the hotel was being renovated or repairing a mechanical problem. Hopefully it was addressed and is no longer an issue.

Front desk was very friendly and helpful, and the room was fine. The rest of the stay was not great. They were doing work on the roof (tarring?), and the whole first floor smelled awful, like petroleum vapor. They oddly charged $3 a cup for the lobby coffee, and their breakfast buffet service was overwhelmed - we finished our food before the waitress brought coffee. We’ve stayed here a few times, and each time we’ve thought it was at best average or poor. The other DoubleTree’s have been great, so this still surprises us. We won’t be staying here again, we’ll try other options in the area.

Loved this hotel! Was skeptical after reading the bad reviews, but glad I ended up booking a room. Little pricey for what you get, but overall it was good. The hot water didn’t get very hot & the items at the little store they have are way over priced. Also, paying for a coffee seems like something that should be free with your stay.
