Holiday Inn Express Big Rapids by IHG

Room was poor terrible mold on bathroom ceiling door frame cracked weld room wall paint terrible Staff was good breakfast just the usual hotel food Noise level high lot pf slamming doors On check in got surprised by a $5.00 amenity fee not disclosed on hotel.com when room was booked Also got charged a $30.00 damage security fee that would be returned 7-10 days after checking out The room was close to the swimming pool night shad broken so light from the pool kept the room very bright The lobby was nicely done too bad the room did not get the same treatment Parking lot needed repair This hotel on the exterior seemed nice but the room looked cheap old

Was never told pool was going to be closed would have canceled my stay. It was old and very dusty and dirty. Was not your typical Holiday inn express!

It was a clean hotel and they were very accommodating to us. The breakfast was delicious. Only thing is, the plugs in the room have not been converted to usb or type C plugs. We had to go buy boxes to charge our devices. Other than that, great stay,

First of all, we waited at the check in desk for almost 20 minutes to check in and no staff was anywhere in site. Then we get checked in and go to our room and the toilet was broken. I called the front desk and someone came up to look at it after over a half hour. Then, someone called my room at almost 11pm to ask if my toilet was working still and woke up both of my sleeping children who had to be up by 6am. Lastly, nowhere on Expedia stated the pool was under construction so I paid extra for a hotel room because of a pool instead of choosing one of the cheaper hotels in the area and the pool wasn’t even open.

Very unprofessional. Reserved for 2 people but only 1 coffee cup. I went to the desk to ask for more and the polite staff had a tough time finding one. Staff were nice but the room was awful. Water stained ceiling, mold in shower, peeling wallpaper and wallpaper paste that was never wiped off when installed. Only 1 elevator worked. Was not notified when booking or in advance of pool and hot tub closure. Paid a lot of money for a very poorly managed hotel.
