The front desk staff was amazing and helpful. We loved our room, it was spacious and gave us plenty of room for our family of 4, plus our dog. The breakfast was delicious, pancakes, omelettes, bacon and sausage gravy, plus cereal, oatmeal and bread/muffins, etc. They had a helpful board that had local restaurants, etc. Hotel was clean, quiet, and located in a great place.

1. The tub would not drain fast enough for a shower without filling with several inches of water. 2. The toilet kept clogging up. 3. AC would not stay on we had to turn it back on all night. 4. Got a room with 2 beds and sofa, literally asked the hotel a week before to be sure to get the room right. The sofa was wedged in on an angle that would not allow it to be pulled out as a bed. 5. Asked for extra bedding but “there was nothing extra but a single sheet. No bedding in room for sofa. 6. Check in was long but that’s nothing compared to the other issues.

Great location and nice facilities except for the heating/cooling unit. Controls were on the unit and continuous fan was available. However, it was either cold or hot. Setting the temperature seemed meaningless because the unit was either on or off. It did not use the set temperature. Otherwise a great place to stay. I would stay here again even with the annoying HVAC.

Great stay for reasonable rate! Our room was really nice for our family of 5. It was a unique layout with two queens and an extra bedroom with an additional queen bed. The extra room was so nice! The breakfast was great with many options. Nice pool area and very clean overall. The staff was wonderful and called us promptly when we left an item in the room after checking out and we were able to pick it up. We would definitely stay here again.

Check in was smooth and quick!! Check in manager is great!! Super friendly, great with recommendations!!! Room is up to date, clean and does not smell musty like a lot of hotels tend to have that musty like smell. Would stay here again, no doubt!!

The TV did not work. The person on duty tried to help but could not. The location was inconvenient with nothing nearby. It was situated in the parking lot of a flooring store where we picked up a flooring screw in our tire so had a flat tire. I had scheduled this stay with a Hotels.com reward stamp which they did not honor so I paid full price for the room and list my stamp because my Hotels.com app says it was a reward night and all I was supposed to pay was the tax 😡

Wonderful stay! All the staff were most congenial. We enjoyed talking with the desk receptionist Logan. He was very helpful and engaging when asked about what things he’d suggest we do while in the area. Very courteous young man. The breakfasts were very good and plenty of options to choose from. The young woman worked very hard to ensure all items remained full. We’d go back to this place every time we’re in the area

If you decide to book a weekend stay here, make sure there are no K-12 sports events scheduled. There were packs of unattended middle schoolers running the halls and pounding on doors until 11pm. The front desk was absolutely useless in mitigating the situation and the next day we were offered a meaningless apology.

Breakfast was good—was surprised they had bacon. Room was spacious. Beds were comfortable. Was surprised we had housekeeping services every day. Reservation was for 3. Messaged the hotel 2 days ahead of time—there was only going to be 2 of us—3rd person couldn’t come due to illness. Told the check in staff same message. Fee for 3rd person was still charged. Toilet was very low.

Overall excellent time spent @ hotel. I forgot my eyeglasses & they were found by maid service. She was wonderful to turn into lost & found. Allie, at front desk, was so kind to arrange mailing it to my home. We will continue to stay @ Holiday Inn hotel for the best stay in UP.

Hotel is in a convenient location. Lots of shopping and dining options nearby. Also, not far to downtown Houghton. Hot breakfast was nothing to cheer about. We stayed for 4 mornings and breakfast only changed slightly each day. Dining area was kept clean and tidy, but really isn’t large enough for the size of the hotel. One day people were standing in the hall to eat. Overall I’d recommend this hotel. Front desk people were very friendly and helpful so were the dining room attendants. Beds and pillows were comfy.
