Baymont by Wyndham New Buffalo

Hotel is in poor condition. Breakfast was terrible. Stale bagels, no eggs, and no hash browns. TV, phone, and WiFi didn’t work. Shower was slimy. Exhaust fan and hair dryer were filthy dirty. Only one elevator - had to wait around 5 minutes to use it because housekeeping staff was using it to transport the clean and dirty linens. Front door was broken and there was a leak in the lobby.

The pool and Hot tub were disgusting so we did not go in them even though we planned on doing so. The entire hotel smelled of chlorine like the pool had been shocked. There were leaks coming from the ceilings all over the hotel. I would not even give this hotel 1 star.

Very nice pool and hot tub. Was noisy hard to get to sleep.nice rooms . We had two queen beds and one of them squeaked when moved. Will still book from them again

Family weekend with swimming for kids Except pool and hot tub were both out of order. I called ahead to make sure they were in working condition and was told they were.but they were not working Had just gone out of order the "night before." Talked to other people who had also checked one day ahead..same story. Im starting to think this is not always the truth We would have gone somewhete else but there was a big event in town and there was noplace else to go I have always booked through hotel.com but If the hotels are not meeting the standards may have to book somewhere else. It seems like there would be a way to notify guests of problems in advance We had four rooms booked and this was the only time we could all meet until next year Was not a pleasant weekend

Very helpful friendly check in. Comfortable beds. We had everything we needed in our room. Pool and hot tub was nice and clean. Casino shuttle is a nice bonus!

Shower had hairs in it, countertop was missing the side panels, carpet looked gross, no vending machines were working, pool was out of order, leaking roof, etc.

Hot tub and pool were not accessible. The breakfast buffet was toast and stale cereal. When using the shower half the water was going out the tub spout. Half the vending machines were out of order.

Pool and hot tun not in service for all of our 4 day stay. Elevator was out of service Fri and Sat. Hotel is clean and rooms are comfortable. Carpet in lobby and halls is threadbare and needs replacement

No hot tub or pool after they said it worked

Blood stain on the mattress cover. Marijuana smoke in the halls, lobby elevator. Just gross

We found a bed bug in the first room …. It was late so we couldn’t just book another hotel. The next room was not so clean no towels and the beds were super hard

Filthy and run down. Paint peeling. Shabby, old furniture. The room was dark even with all the lights on. The bulbs are low power and barely light up the room. Only 1 plastic cup was provided. Coffee packets were in the ice bucket. Carpet was dirty, stains. The room and hallways smelled funny. Parking lot had lots of trash. Small park like area in back of the parking lot had a picnic table but no trash receptacle, so there were quite a few cans and empty alcohol bottles strewn about. I feel this hotel is way overpriced for what it is.

Not clean or updated! Highly DO NOT recommend!!!

It was a very run down hotel.. there were broken tiles on most of the tile in the bathrooms and no grout.. broken doors on cabinets. A think layer of dust on everything throughout the hotel. Very run down.

Terrible. Room has missing grout, cracked tiles you could cut your feet on and the front stone on the sink was falling off in the bathroom. No fan. Main light flickered so you could have it on. Carpets were pulled away from the walls. Curtains were ripped and falling off so you couldn’t close them all the way. Paint was peeling in dirty pool. Whole place was gross. Will be happy if we didn’t bring home bed bugs or lice!

Room was not clean. Bugs in room and bathroom. some gross stains on the chair. staff was never at the front desk. pool and hottub had so much chlorine that our eyes were burning.

Everything was fine until we saw bedbugs ☹️

Dirty and unclean rooms.

Got into the room beds were not changed or made from previous people, crusty old pizza left behind on table trashs were full, TV was left on remote wrapped up in the bedding of one of the beds. Bathroom not cleaned. Got a different room which was cleaner than the previous one but bed sheets covered in stains and just gross overall. Definitely won't be staying again.

If you need a place to sleep, this fits the bill. The cleaning staff do their job very well; everything was clean and taken care of. However, the overall state of this place is in disrepair. Most of the things in our room didn't work or were broken (toilet rocked, shower floor had cracks, shower head wouldn't stay in place, broken tiles). A lot of things like chairs and desks were mismatched or broken. My online check-in only partially went through so I had to do things in person anyway. Thankfully, the AC unit worked just fine. I would say if you just need a place to crash, give this one a shot. But if you're looking for a comfortable, modern, and well taken care of facility, you might want to look elsewhere.

Hotel and rooms need some updating. Very outdated and some wear and tear. Breakfast was not great. Eggs were absolutely awful! Bed was comfortable. Need more pillows for a king bed. Jetted tub was nice addition. Nice for couple weekend getaway.

It was very loud above our room all night

Comfortable rooms with great beds for sleeping. The walls felt like they were thin, i could hear the neighbors as they talked

I gave it an okay rating because the bed sucked. It was hard and you can hear springs popping when you turneed. A nice mattress topper would probably fix that issue. There was a discarded plastic cup next to the jacuzzi tub with a liquid in it. It was okay nothing fancy about it like they used to be. I'd probably stay again if i had to. The staff was excellent and friendly.

The first room we were given wasn't actually ready. We got up to the room, door open, sheets stripped, still garbage in the room. Second room didn't have hand soap and was out of body soap. Half of the bottom of the bathroom vanity was missing the siding, and the tv/cable didn't work. Wifi sucked. AC sucked. Curtains missing pieces and didn't block out the light well. Hot tub didn't have enough towels. Definitely not worth the overall nearly $200 / night. Very disappointed. Review will also be posted to Google. First pictures were of the uncleaned too

This property was no frills, great location to the town of new Buffalo and Four Winds Casino. It was slightly outdated. In fact, it was pretty outdated, but it was clean, the rooms were large, the staff was super nice and it did the trick.! I would stay there again!

I’m sure this hotel was nice when it was built. But it has aged. Rooms are clean, except for the carpeting. Attempts have been made to keep the plumbing fixtures up to date. Room furnishings are not of top quality and worn, but adequate. Carpeting in the other areas of the hotel needs cleaning—probably replacement. I found the hallways and nearby rooms to be somewhat noisy. In general, the hotel is ok, but fits solidly in the “budget” category. However, there are worse.

Seems pricey for a very basic and dated hotel. Seems a bit shabby.

Great service flexible

Most everything about the stay was great! I enjoyed the lady that checked us in! She was very friendly! However, the blonde haired lady they had during the day was a bit rude when asked any questions. We asked about towels for our room and she acted like it was an inconvenience and made us catch housekeeping on a floor that wasn't ours to get some . The room itself was quite nice. No complaints! The shower was beautiful! The only other problem I had was that I got a hot tub rash from either the hot tub or the pool. I would use caution of using both if you have sensitive skin.

The front desk lady was very sweet and helpful. My stay was great!

Property was in disrepair and somewhat dirty. There were several examples of broken items throughout. Staff was not entirely friendly. Front desk was just OK, not welcoming or friendly. Breakfast staff was watching every move you made. Made you feel uncomfortable Would not stay here again

Manager and older gentleman who helped with cleaning and breakfast room were very nice and helpful. Some of the ladies at the front desk were short and even rude. Had issues with some of our families room keys which were replaced but we had to go get them and they were not apologetic about the situation. The room was clean and the cleaning lady was kind and good. Hotel could use updating. Overall we had a ok visit there but would probably try another hotel when we return there.

I've been to several dozen Baymonts and never had a bad experience... until today. Arrived at 6:45pm. Check in started at 3:00pm. The room was not ready as they had only cleaned about half of the rooms at that point. So dozens of people showing up in the late evening were waiting for their rooms to be cleaned. After a 15-minute wait, our room was ready. As soon as we walked in we saw the mini-fridge door was open and the seal ripped loose. After waiting for the front desk clerk to finish a phone call, she came to our room herself and pushed the seal back in so the door could at least be propped shut. Later we discovered that the TV remote didn't work. We figured out the manual buttons, which was good because by that time there were five or six people waiting in line to either check in or complain about how much the place sucked. The water pressure is terrible and lukewarm is as hot as it gets. The bed wasn't great but it wasn't terrible. Normally there are lamps on either side of the bed, plus at least one more on a table or in the corner. Our room had a grand total of one lamp so the whole room was pretty dark. At least if it wasn't clean, we couldn't tell. The chair was also broken, as was the sink. There were few positives but I have to give credit to the lady at the front desk, as I'm pretty sure she was the only person working in the whole building, covering the desk, maintenance, cleaning and everything. And she managed to remain pleasant and do her best.

We had two rooms booked. We checked in at the check in time. We were told both rooms were ready. Went to the rooms, one was ready and the other room was still not cleaned. Went to the desk, they apologized snd said it would be done within the hour. Went out for a couple hours and when we came back it still was not cleaned. Told the desk again and left, returned a few hours later and it was cleaned

I got there an hour early and there were no cars in the lot. I know it's within the norm to ask for an "early" checkin if there are clean rooms available so I asked if I could be checked in. I was met by a disgruntled employee who didn't want to accommodate me, told me to come back at 2:45, which I guess is when the "boss" allowed early checkin. As I was checking in, I had to stand next to a spider crawling around his web. I mentioned this and the housekeeper was standing near by who laughed.

Front desk was friendly and helpful. A close drive to Warren dunes, I’d say this is an okay hotel for that if you aren’t planning on staying very long. The breakfast was not good, somehow the scrambled eggs were bad(to salty and a weird texture), the only good thing there was the self serve waffles. We didn’t get to try the pool or anything, but it looked pretty okay. We noticed the bed sheets were stained a bit, that was pretty gross actually.

Both lauren and maria were wonderful and helped us with everything we needed. From reservations to on site issues they were on top of it for us and made our trip absolutely wonderful.

✔️Clean What we saw of the hotel was very clean & up to standards: foyer & check in, hallways, elevator, bed linens & bath towels, room & bathroom. The hotel room carpet was on the questionable side. ✔️staff The overnight staff member was pleasant & friendly. 🤢breakfast The only horrible part of the stay: the breakfast. Though we checked in close to midnight, we always try to be at breakfast at the start of the breakfast timeframe. Threw away after trying: ▪️Scrambled eggs— disgusting. Spongy & could still taste the frozen water. ▪️Biscuit: even after warming it up in the toaster, it was tasteless & dry. ▪️Sausage gravy (for the biscuits): inedible. It has no flavor & had the consistency of runny glue. Also, it was being heated in a crockpot. ▪️ The orange juice was so acidic that my husband got sick & had to find antacids. ▪️NO ice water anywhere. We were looking for something to rinse out our mouths — none provided. 🔹Because of the gravy & eggs, we weren’t brave enough to try the milk in the carafe & eat cereal. If the milk was individual cartons, we would have. We didn’t try the yogurt, bagels nor bread. ✔️Breakfast was saved by the waffle machine & batter. That item was consistent with previous experiences & tasted fine. Only thing that did not go into the garbage. ▪️Also, the garbage can in the breakfast room was 1/2 full at 6 AM, telling us it hadn’t been emptied from the day before. ▪️toiletries in hotel bathroom: no facial tissue, no shampoo

We went doen for breakfast food and the sausage and eggs werent available. We were told that they werent putting out anymore due to the breakfast service ending a half hour later. There were at least two others that tried to fet the above food.

Pet friendly was really the only perk, Shower was terrible, only 2 towels for 2 grown adults. No employee around to ask for additional towels. Breakfast was the worst, limited choices, cold undercooked biscuits, tasteless eggs, and was that supposed to be sausage? ... yuk, 1 bite and in the trash (along with the bite in my mouth). You can do better ... please do better

This was one of the most disappointing motels I have stayed at. First I couldn't log on to the wifi. It's a minor inconvenience. I had to make a couple of trips to the front desk because the room phone did not work. Next I went to take a shower before going to bed only there wasn't any water at all. Another trip to the front desk only to learn the hot water heater broke. Things happen but my shower the next morning was less than tepid. Things do happen but it would have been nice for the desk to let us know about the water issue when we checked or on the other two trips to the desk. At breakfast it was minimally ok. Most places have eggs and sausage or something. The tub of water was sitting there but no hot food. I came down around 6:30 and stayed until 8:30 while my wife slept. I never saw any eggs or meat. This was one of the poorest run hotels I have been to and I have been to hundreds of hotels/motels. There are plenty of other places so I don't see that I will stay there again.

Overall everything was great. Rooms and hotel were clean and smelled nice. Everything in our room worked as it should. As a bonus we above the stanard amount of channels for kids. The hotel has Direct TV. Kids were able to watch all their shows. Breakfast offered multiplehot items; Eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy and fresh made waffles. Also the standard choice of cereals, yogurts, bagels, hard boil eggs, ect. Coffee was fresh and hot. Coffee was also available at all times in lobby. Hotel also offers free shuttle service to the casino, which I decided to use. The pool area was clean and offered towels. All this for a reasonable price

We were just looking for a quick place to take our kids with the pool in the middle of winter had an amazing pool and a hot tub along with a great breakfast that included biscuits and gravy, sausage, eggs, eggs, and the usual things that are at a continental breakfast. All in all very happy and will be back soon.
