Was a great stay however was very disappointed by the amenities that were promised prior to booking (lobby bar which was closed, and morning mimosas on the weekend that were never available to name a couple).

This hotel has seen better days. Unfortunately, this hotel did not have a working pool during our stay, the coffee machine in our room didn’t work, one of the elevators was out of order, our keys stopped working on day 2, the fitness center had poor ventilation and fans/AC, and there were dirty towels left inside the pull out couch from the previous guests. I would still stay here again because it was a great deal for a holiday weekend, just don’t expect the same level of quality as other Marriott or Residence Inn hotels.

Front desk staff and breakfast staff were phenomenal so friendly and helpful. Hotel location was good. Room was big and clean. Pool was very dirty and discolored water so we didn’t swim in it.

Beware of the parking scam by the hotel! They charged an extra $19/night to park in their lot. Says nothing about that when you are booking online. Also the room we stayed in had ripped carpet at the doorway to the bathroom exposing the rusty tackless strip to the customer’s feet as they go to take a shower. I suggest being up to date on your tetanus if you stay at this hotel. The mgr had a chance to make things right on our checkout but elected to just “thank me” for the information. Disappointing to say the least. There are many options in STL and I will be staying at one of those next trip. Hope Marriott enjoys the extra $19 scammed off their guests.

From the outside, this hotel looks decent. The parking lot appears gated but I'm not certain they closed the gate at night. I had read reviews from a year ago stating the pool was under construction and figured it had been fixed by now but both the pool and hot tub were still under construction. This location is also NOT within walking distance to many of the downtown attractions. Additionally, the paint was peeling in the bathroom, the soap dispensers were not properly full, and the front desk never brought us the additional blankets and pillows we requested. According to my sister, who requested the blankets and pillows, the front desk worker appeared to be on his phone and distracted. If you're looking for a place with a kitchenette, then this might work for you, but if you're looking for a true downtown location, keep looking because this isn't it.

We did not get the room we originally book. When we were placed in the room they had available it was dirty, blood on the toilet and bathroom floor, food in the pull out couch bed. When we went down to address this issue with staff they did quickly get us into two clean rooms (i booked one so we could stay together) but the rooms were right across the hall from each other and they comped the second room.

The 1st room I had cockroaches was on my drink at night and took shower at got breakfast the next morning and had baby roaches on my food when I got out too eat it highly unhappy

The staff is nice and that's about the only good thing I can say about this property. Don't let the photos deceive you: this hotel is tired and dated and 10 years overdue for an re-do. Room was unclean at check-in: trash hadn't been taken out which included bags of dirty diapers from a previous guest. When I brought up to the staff they offered a modest discount for our first night only even though we had taken out the trash ourselves and done all of the cleaning. Additionally, mysterious white stains were all over the desk chair as well as weird stains on the carpets. Various drawers were broken in the room and one TV had a broken screen. It would've been nice if someone in that hotel cared to check a room that we paid over $200/night for.

I am disappointed with my experience at Residence Inn Downtown St. Louis and would not recommend this hotel to family or friends. We changed rooms twice because they were unclean. The first room had pubic hairs in the sheets and yellow stains on the pillow. The second room had a large urine stain on the sofa bed mattress, the air conditioner did not work, and one of the tables had a medium sized red liquid spill on it . The hotel did not look anything like what was represented in the online photos. The hotel is outdated, the pool was creepy and uninviting. I'm not sure if it was the reflection of the sun on the water, but there were a lot of particles of some kind floating in the water. The basketball court was super tiny, only enough space for one to do some free throws. The lady that answered the line at the front desk was nothing short of unpleasant, unhelpful and unprofessional. Still waiting on a refund.

We had a pleasant stay!! Breakfast was really good and staff was very kind and professional. The ONLY grievance, we found 2 Cockroaches in our room during our stay. One in the bathroom and one in kitchen, both alive. When we returned home all luggage had to be spray and left outside our home, which is very stressful.

The room was very clean. However, the furniture was very old and outdated. The pool was old but warm and water clear and clean. The staff was very nice. Breakfast was good. The one bedroom suites only have queen size beds and not king. We preferred a king and thought the suites had a king size bed. That was very disappointing.

I would start with saying the staff was extremely friendly. The room booked was NOT what we were assigned at arrival on the property. Booked a 3-bed double room suite and the room only had 2 beds and a pull-out sofa bed. Then the first room we had assigned to us the pull-out sofa bed frame was completely broken and absolutely no able to be used to sleep on. Transferred us to another room and that sofa bed was still very uncomfortable but was able to be used. The tub facet in one of the bathrooms leaked and dripped all the time, never turning off. I would not choose to stay here ever again.

When we arrived to our room it smelled like someone had smoked in there before. The A/C was a stand alone unit that was a tube to the window in the middle of the room (so there was no way for A/C to get to the 2 bedrooms. I went to the main desk to ask for another room, and the First Lady was kind of rude stating there were no other rooms, and that she would have someone come spray the room. After asking other people in our group how their room was, I went back to the desk and spoke with another lady. She was kind and got us another room. The new room had regular A/C and smelled fine, but you can tell it was run down some. The doors to the bathroom were warped on the sides from being wet. The A/C never got “cold”. It was very warm in the room. Overall a 2 star experience at a 2 star hotel at best.

Love the 2 bedroom reservation: one bedroom with a king bed as well as a bathroom with the 2nd bedroom with 2 double beds as well with a bathroom. Love the couch, TV area as well as a kitchen. With my daughter having celiac, we must carry food safe for her to eat. The full sized fridge was great to hold what we brought. Best bonus: a freeze large enough to keep our freezer packs frozen for use on the way home if needed. Beds are soft. Pillows for us, were a bit too firm.

A lot of things to do and restaurants around the property. The value is what you consider here. The pool was really gross though. It was foggy and there was stuff floating around. The breakfast was one of the best ive ever had at a hotel. We had a room with a view of the ferris wheel. The room was clean. I just wish we would have had access to a vacuum or a broom while we stayed so we could clean up in the kitchen.

My first room had no toilet seat. Was moved to a second room. Kitchen light was out shelf in the bathroom broken, missing wall piece in the shower. Closet door not on track. Shower wash not attached to the wall. The pool was freezing and the hot tub broken. All was reported to the front desk as we didn't want to move rooms again or be charged for damages that were already there

I was in room 202. I didn’t enjoy the fact that I had a big white humidifier in the sitting area connected to the window. Not sure if I would return due to this. I’m not one that complains so I dealt with it. The sofa had lots of stains so I covered it with a sheet to sit on. Lots of fruit flies were present.

Extremely packed hotel, fairly basic amenities for the cost, arrived to a broken AC and our room was 88 degrees, the TV also didn’t work—so the head of maintenance had to spend 90min sorting all of that out when I asked to be moved rooms. The head of maintenance was super kind and thorough but we had to sweat it out in there while everything was being fixed. Extremely packed hotel, fairly basic amenities for the cost, arrived to a broken AC and our room was 88 degrees, the TV also didn’t work—so the head of maintenance had to spend 90min sorting all of that out when I asked to be moved rooms. The head of maintenance was super kind and thorough but we had to sweat it out in there while everything was being fixed. We did not get house keeping for Any of our stay. Your staff walked out in the middle of the day and we couldn't get into our room for hours because our keys no longer worked but there was nobody there to reprogram them!!! The staff is nice and that's about the only good thing I can say about this property. Don't let the photos deceive you: this hotel is tired and dated and 10 years overdue for an re-do. Room was unclean at check-in: trash hadn't been taken out which included bags of dirty diapers from a previous guest. When I brought up to the staff they offered a modest discount for our first night only even though we had taken out the trash ourselves and done all of the cleaning. Additionally, mysterious white stains were all over the desk chair as well as weird stains on the carpets. Various drawers were broken in the room and one TV had a broken screen. It would've been nice if someone in that hotel cared to check a room that we paid over $200/night for.

We arrived and the front desk staff had all quit so no one was able to check us in. We left to eat dinner, and when we returned there was an individual who was able to check us in. We got to our room and it was the wrong type - we had a party of 5 and the room had only one queen and a sleeper sofa. They brought a rollaway and we made it work. The ac in the room had leaked water all over the bedroom floor, but there were no other rooms available, so we had to wear shoes the whole time. It was pretty much a disastrous experience.

I stayed here for a month. My third day I told them that the AC unit was leaking and that my rooms floor was soaking wet. They proceeded to do nothing for the entire month, no matter how many times I told them about it. The front desk was extremely rude to me about everything and constantly brought up the fact that I booked through hotels.com and several people said “ well it may be cheaper. The quality of your service will not be as good”. All the staff was very rude and dismissive.

Saturday night was a bit challenging, parking lot was full, people was hanging out in the parking lot, patio area, walking the hallways, playing loud music. Other than that our stay was EXCELLENT. I issue is how do you charge your payong guest a parking fee? After all the money you spend for a room that should be included. Now you should have charged the staggers a fee for hanging out on the parking lot.

Our check-in was very easy and smooth. The room was clean, and very convenient with the sofa bed for our 14 yr old. The area surrounding the hotel is rather industrial but we did not feel unsafe. Conveniently located for our trip to the Arch and City Museum.

The room size was great for our family of five but the hotel was in need of some updating. It is not really “downtown” so not in walking distance to anything. The pool is very small and no hot tub. I’m overall happy with how convenient the location is but don’t think we’d stay there again.

Breakfast was decent. Those are real waffles and they're tasty. However like any other hotel, I got a carton of milk and it had soured so always checked your carton. Wasn't too pleased that they were serving mimosas in the morning as people were leaving because those have alcohol in them so I don't like the idea of people going on the road while they have been drinking. They might want to stop that because it could be a liability if something happens. The officer asked them where did you get your alcohol? At the hotel. Not good. And my car got bumped several times so there are marks on it now on the bumper. People actually hit it and it had no marks on it before. It was 99° and the air conditioning worked great. I think the kitchen was about the best. Each suite has its own little kitchenette and it's very convenient.

I just wish we would have had access to a vacuum or a broom while we stayed so we could clean up in the kitchen.

Blown away by our stay! It was perfect for our family of 6! Loved having our own kitchen to cook dinner. The room was super spacious. A little outdated but that’s ok. Our one complaint was the pull out sofa. The mattress was way too small for the bed (4 inches too small on each side) exposing the metal and springs. We couldn’t let our kids sleep on it.
