I really liked the general ambience, the decor, the large guest rooms, the absence of noise, the breakfast, the outdoor spaces. Feeding the ducks with duck food supplied by the inn was a plus. Problem areas for me was the internet did not work well (hard to get on, and once on, it kept going out) and the only available microwave was a small one in the lobby. The indoor pool was nice, but the water was so cold that it was practically unusable. There were problems with the elevator and it could not be accessed from the first floor. The person on duty did go up and send it down to us when we arrived. On the day we left. The elevator did not work at all, but a repairman had been called.

Meadowbrook Inn has location, a good indoor pool and good breakfast. It is also struggling with some infrastructure issues, like an air conditioner in our room which did not work, telephone in room not working, and tub draining poorly in one room. They responded promptly to fix all our concerns, and made them correct and right. Staff are wonderful. Will return again!

The property is in a very nice setting withe a brook flowing through it. It is in walking distance to Main Street. The beds are very comfy and the pool and gym very nice. It just needs a little makeover.

We stayed one night as we where driving through Blowing Rock. The hotel is charming and private, yet within walking distance to the centre of Blowing Rock. The rooms felt very clean and spacious. The included breakfast was alright - nothing special but atleast theres some warm options to choose from. Friendly staff as well. The negatives: the gap around the room door ment that voices/sounds in the hallway easily made its way into the room. This was not really an issue for us as we stayed here in a time of the year with less travellers, but i guess this could be troublesome in the high season. Furthermore the pool was closed (they had an option at a neighbouring hotel instead) and there was a bit of mold on one of the types of bread they served for breakfast. All in all the negatives did not bother us too much. This was among the cheapest hotels in Blowing Rock at the time i booked, and I would certainly stay here again.

Very nice Room was very warming Felt like home Hallways smelled really welcoming. Smelt like home idk how to put it. Warm vanilla Anyways parking was great Very welcoming definitely will come back. Decent price for amount of people. Only thing was the pool was down for maintenance. Upside was 1 min down the road at the other resort they had a pool and was allowed there due to maintenance. Sucks had to leave hotel to go do but better than not swimming at all. One reason I got this hotel.

Overall just a disappointment!! We have stayed here the last 3 out of 4 years and probably won’t go back. The bed sucks, WAY too hard, the pillows suck the lighting in the bathroom sucks the room never warmed up even when we set the thermostat to 75 degrees. If you book through Hotels.com you won’t get a free breakfast anymore they charge $15 per person per day and I’d rather just go down the street to the toastery at that price. The bar is NO LONGER OPEN…..need to remove that from the listing. We will look for other options next year

There was mold in the shower and we had almost no internet service the entire time we were there. We were told it was because we were using Apple devices. If that's the case, they should advertise that "we don't have good internet service if you have an Apple device".

We stayed in the main building and our room appeared to be newly renovated and was very clean although the bathroom had a separate drop ceiling that was water stained and in bad shape. The large, clean room was the only positive. The walls are paper thin and we heard everything from the room next door. Apparently we had a mechanical room on one side that was VERY loud all the time. The A/C worked but was so loud you couldn’t hear the tv. Note only select rooms have microwaves and if you book through Expedia breakfast is not included and cost $15. For the money there are some amazing breakfast spots in Blowing Rock. We had two queens and it’s really just a motel room. I have to wonder if those booking through Expedia get less desirable rooms as far as location and noise.

Staff was very nice. Our room was spacious. We were in the annexed building. No elevator, no big deal. Dirty carpet on stairs and floor. Bathroom around toilet hadn’t seen a mop or a duster in quite some time. Dirty floors in bedroom especially corners. For the price they charge they could have a manager supervising quality of rooms.

Dirty stained linens, moldy ceiling tiles, stained carpet, dirt on walls in bathroom. A/C unit looked like it had been rigged up last minute yet left that way for years….Loud continuous noise in room. Bed uncomfortable, barely slept. Would not recommend.

The room itself (204) was nice and updated. The bathroom drop ceiling, however, was covered with water damage spots. Parts of the bathroom ceiling were wet to the touch and moldy. The wireless connection was weak and mostly inaccessible unless you were in the lobby. Problematic in a town where cell phone reception is poor to start with.

Location can't be beat, staff were nice and it was clean. Hotel is very dated though and the AC units in the rooms were incredibly loud. If you are staying here heat or cool the room to whatever temp you think will hold through night and turn unit off to get a good night's sleep

Nice room but walls very very thin. Great location and parking. Really liked size of our suite. The patio door doesn’t lock from the inside and we have small children. They couldn’t help us resolve this issue so we had to go buy doorknob covers. Otherwise okay stay

We booked a suite and were pleasantly surprised by how spacious and well appointed our room was. New, modern furniture, very comfortable with a coffee maker and microwave. The only disappointment was the bathroom which was small and dated with peeling paint.

Hotel is clean, but has serious noise issues. The AC sounded like a jet engine in my room, and I heard the elevator button dinging all night. In the morning at 5 AM, a neighbor turned on the TV loudly, which I could hear about as much as if I had turned my own TV on. So in short - clean, pleasant, but not good if you need to sleep.

We love the area and we have stayed here before! We arrived to find that our room was not ready and I had to ask for someone to tell me an estimate of how long it would be! The front desk folks were not helpful! We get checked in and the temp in the room was 74-75 degrees in the sleeping area! This room had a sunroom type room which was completely unusable due to the heat! We had to keep the doors closed to that part of the room for our entire stay! We also had to keep the bathroom door closed to keep the temp in the sleeping room more comfortable. We were offered a bottle of wine for the late availability to which I told the person that "we do not drink" so no thank you! We were then offered more wine due to the air conditioning malfunctioning. The "Suite" is located in an Annex Bldg. I do not recommend that building at all. The hallway was super hot too! I'm disappointed! I still loved the area though!

Rooms need to be updated. The furniture is old-HVAC needs updating! Building needs A LOT of work! Our reservations were for 4 nights. On our last day we requested to add another night but was told there was a 2-night minimum - we waited over 24 hours before they agreed to book us another night. The staff was not helpful! Each time we would check at the front desk we were told a different reason why we couldn't book another night. Told us the manager had to lift the 2-night minimum. The manager (Allison) was non-existence! Spoke with Allison after our stay about a charge on our cc - she was rude and said we would have to call our bank. Christine at the front desk was somewhat helpful - but it was comical that she gave us different reasons why we couldn't book another night! Dillon, Justin, Christine and two other front desk staff gave us different answer when inquired about our request to stay another night. The HOTEL was FAR from being full!!!! In the past this was one of our favorite places to stay - likely to be our last time staying at Meadowbrook!

The staff really are trying, but this place is in disrepair. On the good side, the breakfast is great, and the staff are friendly. They also had homemade cookies in the lobby. That said, during our stay, the heat in our room stopped working (while it was 25 degrees outside), the door card-reader stopped working, and the hot water stopped being hot. Also, every visit to the pool, there were no towels available, and though the staff were very apologetic, they did say that they didn’t have enough towels. That seems like a management-solvable problem. The staff seemed so over-worked, I felt bad for them. Probably won’t be staying there again.

Beautiful hotel in a fantastic town. Just stayed one night on a family road trip down on the Blue Ridge Parkway, but definitely planning a trip where we stay longer. It’s within walking distance of great restaurants. We personally loved thr blowing rock brewery.

Restaurant is closed, also the bar, but it was not mentioned anywhere prior to making the reservation. I did not like the breakfast item at all, if you are expecting good variety, this is not the place. Rooms are good, ac extremely loud!! Housekeeping service I am not even going to comment on. I am not staying there again, nor am I recommending this place to friends and family.

Food at breakfast the only day that we there was not hot and the fresh fruit bowl was almost empty at about 9:15 (breakfast served until 10). Telephone not working and not repaired after reporting. Air handler extremely noisy- could not sleep or watch television while it was on.

Everything about this hotel was excellent. The check-in was professional. Our room was spacious and very clean. The bed and room temperature was comfortable. The pool was large for swimming laps and it was warm. The breakfast has an attendant. They had many gluten free options. Everything was fresh and restaurant grade. The parking was easy. The neighborhood is very safe. It's within walking distance of many downtown shops and restaurants. My wife and I have no complaints about this hotel. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

I am a retired engineer and worked at a Hampton Inn as a maintenance man. They were inspected but still did not have the cleanliness and maintenance that the Meadow Brook Inn does. Everything was up to date and clean. There were a lot of amenities including swimming pool and fitness room. Their breakfast was the best I have had. Large selection in heated trays and other items that were unheated. It was better than I have had in a lot of restaurants. The grounds were also very well maintained, and the gardens were beautiful. It was also within walking distance of Main Street and all of the shops and restaurants. They also had a couple of ponds with ducks and complimentary packs of pellets to feed them. It was fun to do so.

Quiet hotel, super convenient to downtown Blowing Rock. Everything we needed was within walking distance. Comfortable beds. Breakfast was better than the average hotel—they had an apple-pancake casserole. The staff were very courteous and accommodating. I would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay here and would return again. Staff were helpful. The area is interesting with plenty of dining options. We had fun walking around the area. We misread the description when booking and though breakfast was included. It was available for a $15 / person fee. We took advantage of eating breakfast there as it was convenient.

This property is tired and old. We stayed in the annex and it is positively disgraceful. The hallway smells of mold and as a result they leave the windows open which in turn lets in humidity and tons of bugs. The rooms are very dirty - see pictures. The buffet breakfast is easily the worst I have ever had - poor quality of everything. Staff literally snarled at me when I used the milk for my coffee that was intended for cereal. Apparently you are supposed to use the little creamers. All this for about $300 a night. Just don’t go there.

This is the best deal within walking distance of Main Street Blowing Rock. The other more affordable options are motels with doors that open to the outside - with kids, we prefer hallways for safety. The breakfast is great!
