The new renovation's are excellent! Beautiful new buffet breakfast area, very good food and choices. Room was spotless and the king size bed was the most comfortable bed I ever slept on! We always stay in this hotel when we visit family in East Brunswick and Would highly recommend!!!

The hotel was recently renovated and is still a work in progress. The first room that we had was noisy ( from badly behaved guests and outside) noise and had chirping alarm . At 10 pm maintenance man came up and reset it. At 11pm Children banging on our door and running in the hall. Maintenance came up again. At 4AM the alarm started chirping again. I was told by Hotels.com that it was up to the hotel to allow us a refund for the second night if we decided not to stay. The hotel said “no” & Hotels.com offered a $50. Instead !! The front desk gave us a different room for the second night. Everything was fine. Breakfast was disappointing … hope that it will improve when the room gets finished. After driving for 12 hours this situation especially unpleasant. We have an upcoming road trip with a number of rooms booked through Hotels.com and this has left a bad taste. I would not stay at this property again.

Our room clearly hadn’t been vacuumed and the bathroom hadn’t been mopped. Then we found a large stain - off white, dinner plate sized (maybe washed and persisted, I don’t know but… not what you want to find on your hotel bed). Once you see that sort of stuff, everything just feels gross. The staff provided me with extra sheets upon request and all staff folks were fine. Meanwhile, the hotel is under renovations that seem sloppy. Renovations are good but there were half done construction areas all over the place and construction rubbish was piled in the stairwells and back hallways. As a note, our room seems like it had been recently redone, but once you notice the dirtiness, then you all see the caulk wipes on the wall paper inches away from corners, the chipped corner (with a very jagged edge) on the new mirror, and an old AC that smelled a bit moldy. Holiday Inn - I’ve always figured the company was a quality brand - you’ve got to check out this hotel. Yikes. (As a note, the breakfast was pretty solid.)
