Hampton Inn White Plains/Tarrytown

Parking was on a hill that needed huge potholes repaired. Checked in really late and when we tried to open our room door, the card reader didn’t work. Sent husband back to front desk to get the room keys fixed and tried again with the new card keys and still didn’t work. Had to go back down to the lobby to get staff to open door and he couldn’t either. Turns out the room was already occupied by someone else. How did the front desk not know this? We could have been placed in a dangerous situation had we entered someone else’s room. Unacceptable!

Beds were great and room was comfortable but the furniture as well as corridors show signs of aging. This is not the way Hampton inn hotels looked like 40 years ago when they became popular with my family and many others. Breakfast was included and okay. Hotel conveniently located a few miles from town with nice restaurants And tight of I 87.

We did not take part in the breakfast. The room was clean, the staff was cordial and professional and the parking lot worked out very well for us.

There were 2 leaks in the ceiling between the lobby and breakfast area. This week they had decaf. Breakfast was ok. Staff was exceptional.

The room and the bed were both comfortable, and the breakfast buffet was good. There are aspects of the building that need attention (e.g., the front steps, the exhaust fan in the bathroom). The hotel is in a good location, and provided exactly what I needed for my one-night stay.
