Comfort Inn Albany-South, Glenmont

Overall good stay. I used electric car chargers to charge my tesla while I slept. Downsides were the ac heat unit didnt work and it is located next to thruway so truck noise all night. I put on a you tube sleep video on my phone to drown it out.

Hotel was clean, rooms were decent, comfy bed, gym was outdated with sparse equipment, no free weights available, pool was nice, hot tub jets didn’t work.

Good overall. The staff and faculty’s were overall super nice. The gym was on the smaller size and the area around isn’t too bad either. It’s more ok the pricey side in the area compared to other options nearby but even with that it’s worth the money. Would recommend

Not to bad here. Very comfortable and the breakfast is amazing to! Rooms are cleaned very well and spotlessly clean on my return each day from visiting my family. I would give 5 stars though if something i love would work properly. Seems that maintenance cant fix the jacuzzi. Why?

Exterior doors were quite noisy slamming shut all night. Very helpful and friendly staff. Nice pool.

Was in town for NCAA tournament. Easy drive from hotel to downtown Albany...5-10 mins. Free parking at hotel, clean, comfortable, good water pressure in shower. Bar on property, but closes at 10pm. Would have been nice to have it open a bit later, esp on a weekend.

The front desk young man was very polite and professional. He let me check in early. I was meeting a friend there to go to the Albany Wine festival. The entire property was clean and seemed in good shape. The room was great and relaxing. I was sad that the bar wasnt open. The pool area was nice, but the hot tub jets weren't working. At least the jets were pumping in hot water. I would definitely stay again.

Got a great price on this hotel for three nights. Could not beat the price. Had a pool hot tub. The Jets didn't work on it. Complimentary breakfast. The restaurant and bar are under construction so that wasn't available. Other than the mouse in the bathroom at night that my son saw it was well worth the price. I would stay there again

The staff were very kind and friendly however the bathroom was not clean at all.

I have stayed at this particular hotel 4 times now, every time, the hotel lobby and the room were neat, clean and orderly. The desk staff has always been polite. Even when ive arrived later at night. During this stay i did have some noisey neighbors across the hall and i could hear them pretty well but usually its quiet and comfortable.

Dirty rotten droppings in draw outdated musty smell trash on property

It was very dirty, hair all over the bathroom.

I woke up during the night to find a roach in my room. The day I was leaving saw another on the hallway wall

Very old and outdated one of the other people in my group had a room downstairs with mice poop in the dresser. They told her that they have had a mice problem for awhile now

Our room was dirty and hadn’t been properly cleaned. There was vomit on the wall behind the toilet. I cleaned the wall next to the sink because I couldn’t look at the brown stains (spit or something disgusting that I was able to clean with a hand towel and water and soap. Not sure why the housekeeping staff couldn’t see it? The mirror and shower walls were dirty and there were hairs in the shower (I didn’t shower because I thought it would actually make me dirtier to get into the shower), I picked up a “clean” towel and it had pubic hair on it, there were hairs on the toilet and on the Kleenex dispenser and the toilet hadn’t been cleaned. The doors to the hotel slammed all night (no soft closing function or signs?) people shouting and being disrespectfully loud in the parking lot right outside our window kept us awake. I touched the blackout blind to clip it closed with a hangar (because otherwise the parking lot light would have shone right in because the blinds don’t close properly) and the blind was filthy. The lobby looks clean, but everything else seems like it needs to be scrubbed. Walls, doors, everything is dirty. We checked in, opened the door to our room and then went out to the parking lot to get our bags and the keys stopped working immediately but no one was at the desk to help us and we waited a long time to be let back in. We should have spent $30 more for a better hotel. This wasn’t worth the savings.

There was a mouse in the room.

Freezer in the room didn’t work and the shower in the bathroom was so-so. Fixtures aren’t secured. Hotel entrance and the hallways were extremely warm

The curtains don’t close all the way (as in, at all) and there are THE BRIGHTEST street lights in the parking lot. It was terrible night’s “sleep.”

It was a very wonderful hotel it was close to Albany Medical Center our son had to go for surgery and the hotel had wonderful pool hot tub the rooms were completely comfortable was staff was so nice friendly and everyone was so helpful with questions

After check-in, I realize that half of the hotels rooms are facing highway 87 which is noisy, immediately I came back to front-desk and politely request to switch to a room not facing the highway, at that point I didn’t touch anything in the room. But I was only two rooms available, the rooms also facing highway. I woke up by the highway noise in the early morning and walked out at 5:30AM, I found about 70% of the parking lot is empty, how come you don’t have rooms not facing the highway 87!!! The comfort Inn made me feel NOT comfortable. Besides during my check-in, the receptionist pretty was not communicating, not provided information such as breakfast time, Wifi, etc. Also only a few tissue left in my room. I am not emotional, the breakfast is very great,, hotel is very clean and cost efficient, not far away to Washington Park and Albany downtown.

Bad: Stains on walls and curtains. Cracks and holes in walls. Breakfast area needs to be double the size, arrive area or you will be fighting a crowd. Wifi was spotty. Good: Generous TV selection. Room was decent size and ameneties. Located close to downtown and points of interest.

Pro: Staff was friendly and the beds were comfy. I did ask for a rt9 facing room as per a recommendation from another person and it seemed quiet enough traffic wise. Free breakfast was included. Cons: doors and walls were thin- you can hear everything in the hallways and door had 1.5-2” gap underneath. Pillows were square (strange), room had hair in sink, bottle caps under desk, AC/heater in our room was SO noisy I’m not sure I slept more than 2 hours. Definitely smelled old, like overly perfumed of some sort. Had our child with us and a second floor room no screen so window stayed shut and locked. Worth noting- The lobby had a sign saying, please excuse them during renovation (not sure didn’t see any work?) & The bar /restaurant had a sign on the door that said permanently closed.

By far, one of the cleanest hotels I’ve ever stayed in. Quick and easy Check in. Will definitely be back

I had asked for an extended time for check out the night before I left. I asked the front desk clerk to note it in my record he agreed to a 1 pm checkout for me the next morning I was bothers at my door 4 times by housekeeping to leave. I already had it okayed they were so annoying 4 times they knocked. Even had a supervisor come to my door. I had approval. They were so annoying. I didn’t get the sleep I needed because of 4 interruptions. Rude staff!!!!

My favorite thing about this property is being received by the Comfort Inn night manager Hazrat. He was absolutely excellent in accommodating all of our room needs. Sincere thanks!

We had a problem with our first room and they went out of their way to get us another room

I had one glitch which could have been catastrophic. I had an early morning train to catch. I set the alarm clock and , for insurance, asked for a wake-up call. The alarm didn't work and the wake-up call did not happen. Fortunately there was noise outside my door an hour before I needed to awake so I just stayed up. Had the noise not woken me I would have missed my train and the next connecting segment and had to incur additional hotel and pet sitter costs.

The room was clean, but they seemed to be out of toiletries. They also charged me twice for my stay.

Staff was not very friendly

Staff at front desk for check in was amazing, super friendly and courteous.

The hotel is good, but these people make charges without reason or justification, they made me two additional charges, I only stayed one night, and they made charges for two, I have bank proof of that, these people are not recommended. If they reimburse me for the unjustified charges, then maybe I will change my review.

Bar examiners, I do not recommend staying at this place. I needed to talk to a staff but there was nobody at front desk. It happened on my way of going to exam. When I call the hotel later to make sure my bags are safe, the front desk lady gave an attitude. I did not want to deal with it while I am already in exam stress. The owner should raise their employees salary. In this way, they will have people who are happy to work there. One star to management. Housekeepers were excellent and very nice.

10 minutes from downtown Albany NY. Quiet and peaceful location

Great spot and just 8 minutes to downtown Albany. I had a good night sleep 😴 enjoy

Easy access and convenient from the highway for us being out of town. Out of Albany city proper. Yet still close enough to be accessible to all.

Nothing to walk to. Need car. On highway

Stayed here after a concert. After booking last minute, it was a good place to spend the night. Easy property to access. The biggest negative was the coffee was likely the worst in-room coffee I have ever had.

Breakfast was great plenty of options the pool area and gym where kept in good condition. Clean and quiet. Would definitely recommend.

The inside was much nicer than the outside. Our room was very cool when we arrived so great air conditioner. Beds were comfy and room was spacious. Family enjoyed the pool. Pretty quiet hotel. No complaints. Breakfast was good including eggs, bacon, fresh fruit, and waffles.

Tha coffee and egg for breakfast was very bad and also the smell in the hallway in second floor was horrible because of Indian spices and foods.

Property was fine. Very disappointed that the bar and restaurant was not open on a weekend. I don't think I have ever experienced that
