Homewood Suites by Hilton Cleveland-Solon

Not great! Pool wasn’t working, green color. Room smelled awful of urine. Room wasn’t ready. they originally put us in the wrong room and had to switch us. Room needed to be thoroughly cleaned.

The hotel stunk, the rooms were dingy, the pool did not work

All staff are very nice and friendly. I was able to check in and out via the app which was very convenient. Digital key was inconsistent so I had to request physical keys from the front desk. My son forgot his toothbrush and they provided a disposable one from the front desk. I needed to print a parking pass and the business center was easily accessible, let me print for free.

Hotel is under construction. It was very old and run down in the rooms The hallways are dirty They did not offer water for the guests and did not have water in the make shift breakfast room with very limited terrible breakfast I will never go there again.

There was no indication that it was under renovation until check in. Many things we needed/chose this hotel for were not available. The men’s bathroom under construction and my disabled father had to use the women’s bathroom—which I had to clear and monitor for his privacy. We needed a place to review things with business partners and were told to go to our room as the other area was under construction. We asked if they could offer a different room for us to use (their meeting room was empty and not being used) and were told no and to go back to our room or find another place to meet (this was by one of the managers). They ran out of breakfast multiple times. The rooms were not cleaned well. The microwave and fridge in my room was dirty. The furniture was gross and stained. In my parents room there was silverware missing from the kitchen. Also the room had a horrible smell overall and we had to buy air fresheners. My parents also found old dog treats on the floor in their room. Most of the staff—including one of the managers was incredibly rude. It was snowing and the handicap parking was not cleared—I had to ask that it be cleared for my dad’s safety. Overall it was a horrible experience.

The stay was great, the property was clean, however the pool was out of order and I feel That should have been disclosed at the time of booking. I would have chose another hotel.

1. About every 2 days of our 7 days stay we had to go get new keys from the front desk because ours would stop working. We were up on the 3rd floor. 2. One of the elevators was broken for two days, making the other working elevator very slow to use as the entire hotel was then needing to use it. 3. The breakfast attendant most days was lazy - forks/plates/food would run out and I have no idea what she was actually doing. They also choose to not have the waffle station out on weekends. 4. The key never worked to get into the pool- we always had to go to the front desk and they had to call engineering. The pool was also unsafe - they had two dehumidifiers in there powered by long extension cords that were just laying on the ground and definitely getting wet when people would walk around the pool. 5. The fire alarms went off at midnight two nights in a row - once for over 20 minutes. When I asked to speak to the manager the next day about a partial credit to our account, the clerk at the front desk said there was nothing they would do about it and that it wasn’t their fault. I was able to get one night credited back on our stay by using the chat feature in the ap. 6. Our daughter got sick one night - I called the front desk to see how if we could get some cleaning supplies I was told she would not leave the front desk and she didn’t have access to any cleaning supplies. Overall dirty. We will never stay here again - Will pay extra for the Townhome Suites next door.

Parking was great even during the snow.

The hotel needs to be updated. Workout room equipment didn't work.

There was a coin operated laundry, which was a plus. However, the property needed many updates. The wear and tear inside the suites is noticeable. The room smelled of smoke. Visible mold, dirt, hair and grime in the shower. Dirty utensils in the drawer as well as dirty dishes in the dishwasher. The kitchen table legs needed to be tightened by maintenance upon check in. This was a pet friendly hotel and their were several piles of dog poop outside.

There was mold in the showers in the rooms. We did not get the rooms we originally booked so there were enough beds for all the people staying, is happened for all 3 rooms our family booked. The breakfast is absolutely GROSS. But the room was nice and has a full kitchen and table with stove and fridge/freezer and that was nice. The concept of the bathroom was awesome but it needs deep cleaning monthly to prevent the mold from growing. Could be a really nice place with some modifications and cleaning.

First of all, I've stayed numerous times at this property and have never had a problem. This time it was horrible. The floors were sticky. There was a puddle of a sticky residue by the television. The bed was made with dirty sheets and the front desk seemed indifferent. I even had to request clean sheets and make my bed myself before I slept in it. I will never stay at this hotel again.

Room had mold covering the ceiling in the bathroom. Took a photo, showed front desk the photo and their only response was that the rooms will be renovated in October anyway. Very disappointing.

Stay was not great, but room was big. Internet did not work the whole time I was there (overnight stay for work - could not work). When going to bed, I pulled back the covers to find the sheets were wrinkled making me guess the cleanliness of them. Going in to the shower, it was not clean, soap residue and someone's bottle top was in the shower. I also found mold within the shower. With these findings I then had a look closer at the sink and that too was dirty. I did not sleep on the bed and instead opted for the couch (thank goodness the room had a couch), I did use one pillow but put my hood up to sleep on it. Did not sleep well, I also did not feel safe with how much noise was coming from the hallway, so I placed a chair in front of the door. Breakfast was ok, they did a more Mexican style with lots of spices, that I did not like (but I'm not a big spice person) and seemed like the other stayer did not like them either.

The hallways had a very strange odor. The rooms seem to need a really deep clean. There wasn’t garbage laying around but nothing seemed really “clean”. Probably wouldn’t stay there again

Clean room friendly staff

The property is in a good location in Solon the front desk staff was very nice. …and that’s about all it has going for it. This hotel was dirty bordering on filthy. We were given dirty sheets for the hideaway bed. There was a clump of long black hair in the tub. The chairs had crusty stuff all over them. Not once did we see any housekeeping staff. There were cookie or cracker crumbs in the hallway when we arrived. Three days later, those same crumbs were still in the doorway. We ended up checking out two days early to find somewhere else to stay because of the lack of cleanliness. We wouldn’t stay in a Homewood Suites again.

The staff was nice the first room we were in smelled just like smoke and the bath tub wouldn't stop up. We moved to another room and that room was sort of better but there was so much mold in the bath tub that I had to bathe with my eyes closed the property is very outdated the breakfast was terrible with eggo waffles wrapped in Saran wrap a lot of things that should be put out i.e. condiments you have to ask for the elevators were slow and kept messing up

Nice suites and good site at end of cul de sac. Easy access to highways and shops. Pillows were disappointing and toilet and shower area while ample could have been cleaner. Kind employees.

Room was next to elevator and was loud. There were other rooms but this is the one they gave me.

The stay and the staff were very nice and welcoming. They were professional and were able to answer any questions that we had. The property was very clean, quiet and just nice to stay at. The bed was comfortable, bathrooms were clean as well as the entire room. The rooms were way bigger than I expected. Plenty of room. Full size refrigerator, dishwasher, stovetop, dinning table, family room, huge bedroom and bathroom. I will definitely return next year.

Staff was helpful. First Suite we were in used to have a sofa bed, but had been removed. Under the cushions was some sort of board that had been screwed to the couch to cover the void that used to be the pull out bed. Moved to a second Suite with an actual sleeper sofa, which was broken. We were able to pull it out, but some of the rods were laying on the floor. We left it open the whole weekend, because we weren't sure if it would come back out again.

I stayed here a decade ago and it seems there have been no furnishing updates since then. All furniture in the room was very worn and sagging - so not at all comfortable. Bathroom was as clean as they could get it but it’s old so dirt buildup in corners and grout lines; tub stained from years of use. That said - the people - every single person - was kind, knowledgeable, considerate and professional.

Curtains do not cover windows. Room bright at night. TV channel options very limitied

Elevator door sounded terrible when opening and closing, otherwise fabulous place to stay.

We have stayed here many times and been satisfied. This time was awful. The couch was so old and lumpy, sleeper sofa was broken and couldn't use. The king bed was so loud and uncomfortable that everytime anyone moved everyone woke up. The tub needs updating badly. We will be looking for another place next time to stay.

I was getting ready to check out - took a shower 9:30 am and check out was 11 am. While i was in the shower- housekeeping knocked and opened the door. I stayed alone. And i only stayed one night. Couldnt they wait til i check out. When i checked out the front desk had bad attitude and aired my complain including the curtain rod in the shower that fell off.. but did not even apologize. Please do not stay in this hotel. I want a REFUND

Staff was great, always enjoyed a greeting when you walked in.

Our stay was horrible, arriving 15 minutes after check in but had to wait an hour and a half for our room to be ready, was even given a room key and told to go check and see if it was clean and ready. Finally once it was ready we went to the room and after all of that was put in the wrong room that was booked, went back down and was given a different room, went into the room and it was so hot in the room, went to turn on the air only to find out the thermostat was broken and wouldn't turn on. Went back down again and was given another room and still not the room we paid extra money for and booked but at this point just decided to stay in it because we were just so overwhelmed and frustrated at this point. The man at the front desk acted like this was a normal thing and he didn't seem to care. The room was filthy, food and dirt on the carpets, couch was the most uncomfortable thing I've ever sat on. Do not stay at this property as the staff couldn't care less and it is extremely horrible. Even wrote a message to the hotel manager and haven't been responded to so I am assuming that they have the same attitude as their staff. Horrible place.

Staff is excellent

It was ok. We are locals and my daughter wanted to swim for her bday. Check in was good quick and easy. Room was cheap except there were dirty dishes in the dishwasher. At bed time my daughters used the pull out sofa. One side of the bed was broken and sunk on that side. Then noticed there was no bedding for it. Called down to desk no answer multiple times. Went down there and found the receptionist sleep on the couch in front of the fireplace. Smh then she argues that all the rooms has bedding and only gave me a sheet said that’s all age can do. I probably won’t stay here again. Will go to one on chagrin instead

I wish Hilton would invest into this property to get it to match the quality of modern hotels. This building shows its age, I have been coming to this hotel yearly since 2010 and it looks mostly the same as then. The shorthanded staff here are excellent with the 5 stars going to the breakfast staff for the service they provide although the food is only 3 star at best. The lowest stars go to the lack of attention your room receives during your stay. The room was very clean and serviced upon arrival, however three days/nights staying there was no other service provided. Full trash bags that was left in the hallway in the afternoon was not picked up until the next morning.

The Cons - The app sucks, period. It's not helpful in any way, specifically the digital key never worked, nor did the check out feature. It also gives very limited information on the actual hotel you are staying in. The room needed a deep clean. It looked ok on the surface, unless you looked closely. Picture glass was extremely dirty, bathroom floors, cabinets, fixtures and the fronts of the kitchen appliances were pretty gross. The Pros-- The room was quiet and comfortable and the linens looked clean. **But the biggest Pro and the reason why I would absolutely return, is the customer service! I had a trivial request and called the hotel. The front desk was extremely helpful, but she personally didn't know the answer to my question. She however promised to pass it on to someone who would... Just to point out here that I did not give my name, just that I would be staying the following two days. When I actually got to the hotel I had to go to the front office to check in (digital key did not work) and that is when I met ESSAM. I put his name in all caps because it deserves to be. Anyway, Essam knew who I was immediately and not only answered my question but by the relaying of his story it was clear that obtaining the answer had taken him all day!! He went to his manager (also amazing!!!) and the maintenance crew to insure I got my answer. He went way above and beyond and definitely deserves to be recognized, so I truly hope he will be. He was astounding.

Reservation was made for pay at the property mind you my wife and I get a room once a month never has any place taken money out of my account until I check in. This place did just that took the money from my account the morning of my stay I reserved a king suite they changed a $150 deposit. Then put us in a queen room that was the most uncomfortable bed and pillows not that pillows at any hotel are great but these where garbage I spoke to management they handled these issues by offering me a $25 discount. Never again

Our visit was somewhat marred by our room overlooking a public grilling patio where people were hanging out, talking loudly and playing music till quite late. If we hadn’t been so tired I suppose we would have gone down to the front desk and asked them to handle it. But we were tired and just annoyed. That said, the rooms were clean, spacious, and comfy. Breakfast had several options including proteins:). Loved the bathrooms.

On Saturday and Sunday the breakfast was terrible not enough food. The food ran out by 9:45am which I found disappointing. No pork substitutions, waffles was nonexistent and there any fresh. Fruit

Stayed in room 110. Breakfast was horrible. Pulled pork and taco shells?? No cream cheese for bagels, no sausage or bacon, nasty hasbrowns, no plain oatmeal, just not edible or normal type of breakfast. I pay extra to stay at these hotels to have breakfast and save time. I went to breakfast instead. Room ceiling fan was loud, couldnt use it. Couch wqs hard as rock, cushions were so bad I had to sit on pillows, why get a suite if I cant use it? Mattress was hard as a rock and I could feel the springs. Gave me a huge backache. No comforter just a thin linen type of blanket and sheet. Shower curtain smelled like mildew was not washed or exchanged. The bathroom has spots all over that need to be cleaned. You would think a deep clewning would be done once in a while. The staff was nice, the commons area was fine and clean, but someone needs to do their job at inspecting these rooms. I wont stay here again.

They didn’t have the room we reserved. So while they did comp a second room it was not what we planned traveling as a family. Also the continental breakfast the next morning was terrible. The “hot” items were cold and completely inedible and other options were very limited.

My bathroom had very noticeable mold around the bathtub. The breakfast is below average. Other than that, everything was fantastic, including the staff.

Breakfast was very mediocre; coffee not good; potatoes mushy; salt and pepper containers empty - we could not eat it. Room was very clean - comfortable bed.
