La Quinta by Wyndham New Cumberland - Harrisburg

This was the most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed in. The front desk told us they were fully booked, despite only 11 vehicles being parked there throughout the day and night. The pool was initially closed, then reopened at 6:30 PM, but it was extremely dirty—filled with dead bugs, trash, and debris. The toilet next to the pool was overflowing with feces, and it appeared that someone had wiped themselves with a paper bag and tossed it into the toilet, clogging it completely. The entire hallway reeked. In room 215, the bed had a dead bug and a large stain on the mattress. Room 217 was equally appalling, with disgusting walls and an oily headboard. The back door was not locked, anyone off the street could gain access into the hotel and up on the hallways, they were hardly any front desk agent or security in this property when we were there. It seems like the hotel only renovated the front exterior and lobby seating area, while the rest of the rooms and hallways remain filthy, smelling of mold and damp carpets. My kids were very tired and I was not feeling well, else I would have left. Plus I wouldn't get my $350 back from the 2 rooms, so we rode it out for 10hrs that we stayed there and left first thing in the morning. I even had to stay outside With my kids for as long as we could, to avoid breathing or cating any bacteria from this hotel.

My room smelled like weed. I called the front desk but they did nothing. The gym was a mess! The air conditioning unit was leaking and falling off the wall and a ceiling tile fell and after we told the front desk it was still there the next day. The breakfast was horrible. Nothing was replenished, it was disappointing.

The pool was extremely unkept. The handle to get into the pool was broken, the pool was slimey and full of bugs. The room itself was ok except for the floor preventing the door from opening and closing. The laundry is out of service which is fine but don’t offer the service if it can’t be used. There is no way I should have paid what I did for the condition of the hotel overall.

The room were dirty the ice maker were out of services the full 3 day every time that I had to go to the front desk I had to wait more than 10min because nobody were at the front desk the elevator was terrible every time that we used the elevator was shaking and making noises.

Good location. Breakfast items should be varied on weekends. Disappointed that the washer and dryer were not available.

The elevator smelled and the down button on floor two did not work. The room was disappointing. The carpet was actually sticky in a spot between the two beds. The room was overall outdated including the bathroom in the room. The tv was very small maybe a 32 inch at most, smallest hotel room tv I’ve seen in a while. Comforter on one of the beds was stained. The AC worked well and kept the room at a comfortable temperature. WiFi was slow in the room…even streaming YouTube was hard. This was my first time at a LaQuinta and I will not be back based on my experience.

It was showing its age. Needs some work. But cleaning up the pool and landscaping would help. It looked like they were starting.

On my way to Florida - great little gym but the AC was too high so needed to go to the front desk to ask for it to be turned down, which they kindly did. But no towels in the gym or way to clean equipment after use of equipment, plus there was a drinking fountain but no cups. There was no hairdryer in the room but again the helpful front desk Sri came to the rescue. The fridge was noisy so I unplugged it, and the AC was too but it was too warm and muggy not to have it on.

This hotel had an odd odor in the elevator and hallway. Our room had multiple cobwebs and spiders. The sheer curtains had black mold all along the hem as the air conditioner blew through them. The neighborhood was sketchy. My husband went for a short walk around the hotel and was stopped and questioned by a police officer on patrol as they have had lots of calls to the area. We have stayed at other La Quintas that we have enjoyed but this was definitely sub par.

Hotel is very dirty. Hotel is near comedy club that is loud until wee hours of the morning. When I opened up closet door looking for blow dryer (which is non existent) and a roach went running, we left and stayed elsewhere.

Our room smelled like a wet dog. Then when we asked if we can switch rooms it was like asking for a new kidney. The front desk guy was definitely not friendly and zero personality. The room was dirty. Don’t recommend this place.

0/10- do not stay if you care about your health and do not want to inhale mold. My fiance' and I booked the room due to us being from out of town and wanting to have 48 hours to ourselves. There was mold in the room on the windows, curtains, and lamp shade (314) (I have video and photos) the bed was initially wet when we arrived -but we thought it was due to the room being super cold and/or the condensation in the room. When we pulled the sheets back after they came off there was bright red stains that looked like blood on the mattress (very large area- I have photos that covered 1/4 of the bed). When was the last time the room was checked? When was the last time the sheets were changed? Because if they were then they wouldve seen the red blood (assuming) stains on the mattress. When was the last time the curtains were pulled back? Then they wouldve seen the enourmous amount of mold going across the top and down the sides. Then I was charged 124.88$ instead of 50$ for the room hold. I have a letter from the staff and spoke to the manager Dee (she stated a full refund would be issued) and that the hold would not stay and she did not know why their was a hold- apparently this is something that occurs when people pre-pay. Yes the manager was nice- but that room should not have been made available . Thank God we did not bring the kids- they would’ve immediately gotten sick from the amount of mold. I would like someone from LaQuinta Inn & Suites cooperate office to contact me.

You get what you pay for at this hotel. Cleanliness is definitely lacking.

Receptionist at check-in was not at all friendly. The smell in the elevator was unbearable. I had to call for clean sheets as soon as we go in our room. The bathroom had mold in the shower and the the rest off the bathroom was not clean. I've stayed at this chain before and have never experienced the filth like this one. After reading the reviews on this establishment I will always read reviews before booking a hotel. I would have not stayed here if I read the reviews.

Room was filthy

The only good things about this hotel was that the location for us was very good and the water pressure was good and hot. The bad was the elevator smelled TERRIBLE, like mildew. The carpet in the hallway was very dirty and needs replacing. When we asked for 2 extra towels we were told that we needed to bring our used ones for clean ones. We'll NEVER stay at this hotel again!!!

Hotel was okay but the pillows were horrible. Felt like I was sleeping on rocks. Mattress was good.

Initial room at check in was smoke laden. I was moved to another room. The plumbing fixtures were loose...low water pressure....torn bed linens. Staff was pleasant....lobby clean. But room was not good.

The hotel and room itself were very clean and well kept. I will say our bed was completely worn out. We travel a good bit and this bed was the worst one by far. The staff was friendly but it was like pulling teeth to get new towels and wash cloths. We stayed 4 days and our room was never cleaned. All of that being said we would stay there again.

The staff was wonderful but the hotel definitely needs a lot of work. Old beds, broken fixtures(faucet and Drain) . The room was dusty and dirty.

There is no sound insulation whatsoever. If someone is walking down the hall you hear it. Someone getting ice, you hear it, elevator....definitely hear it. Air conditioners in other rooms kicking on...definitely hear ir. Every noise you can absolutely hear in this hitel.

Cant speak for entire hotel. Stayed in 207. The ac sounded like a rocket ship at times with a loud vibration and it would cut down to 61 but according tonthe thermostat on the wall, room never got below 68. Behind the mirror or above in the area the next rooms bathroom would be, there was alot of knocking like perhaps the water pipes heating up and cooling down. Would be almost asleep and they would make a knock and wake you. The body wash was empty the first day and no bags in the trash cans so that hadnt been checked. The first day I went to breakfast and sausage was out at 830. Told person at counter. At 930 still no sausage. Day 2 sausage was empty at 9 and never got restocked and both days breakfast was til 10. Next 3 days didnt bother with breakfast. It wasnt worth the price for sure. I wont stay here again. It was at least clean, and the bed was comfortable. Hence 3 stars instead of 2. I took a video of the knocking but looks like i can only upload photos

Interior needs an upgrade. Example bathroom walls are old and Duquesne rug on the floor in the hallway looks dirty and matted. The person on duty at the desk was extremely helpful and courteous.

My friend and I did not smoke in room but were charged $150 no saying anything - called was lied to hung up on- went to car right front smoked. Unprofessional

Hotel was fine. I needed them to approve an early checkout due to an emergency at home which they didn't. My only complaint.

Staff was exceptional. Continental bfast had plenty of options including hot food. An early TV issue was resolved quickly.

am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the appalling experience I endured during my recent stay at La Quinta Inn & Suites, Harrisburg PA, on Friday, April [insert exact date]. I had booked a King Bed Room for two nights through Expedia well in advance and drove seven hours from Toronto, Canada, expecting a comfortable and stress-free stay. To my shock, upon arrival, the hotel staff informed me that only a double bed room was available, despite my confirmed reservation for a King Bed. This was completely unacceptable. I calmly explained the situation and requested a solution, yet I was met with indifference and told there were no other rooms available. When I insisted on waiting in the reception area for a resolution, I was told I could not sit there and was threatened with police involvement if I did not leave. Shockingly, the hotel called the police on me, despite my peaceful behavior and legitimate complaint. Only after the police arrived did I agree—under pressure—to accept the incorrect room on the condition that I would be transferred to a King room the following morning if one became available. What happened next was even more appalling. In an effort to make the best of a bad situation, I attempted to push the two beds together to mimic a King-size bed—only to discover a filthy, dust-covered area beneath the beds. It was obvious the room had not been vacuumed or cleaned for a long time, indicating serious neglect of basic hygiene standards. I immediately

Very nice up-to-date hotel conveniently located right off I-83. Clean, quiet, plenty of parking. Comfortable bed and pillows, clean linens. Front desk staff were courteous. Close to shopping and restaurants. Area seemed safe. Would definitely stay here again when in the area. I highly recommend a visit.

The hotel is in an inconvenient spot. It's old and dingy and needs upgrading. The rooms are small. There were not enough towels. There was one person manning the desk, doing the breakfast, cleaning up and generally everything else. There were not enough luggage carts. In general it was way over priced for the conditions and we won't stay at these hotels again.

Pictures were deceiving. Location was sketchy. Property was run down and dirty. There was a guest 2 doors down that had a dog that would not stop barking. Room felt dirty and dingy.

Hotel seemed new or maybe just updated recently. Has a good variety of breakfast items. Room was nice but our room could have been a little cleaner. Not sure that anyone had stayed there recently based how hot it was when we checked into our room. Took a while to cool down, but finally caught up. Area outside was smelly (garbage/dog poop smell). Bar nearby was loud on Friday night when we checked in. Asked for a room on opposite side and the front desk person obliged and upgraded us to a larger room.

Its so hard to figure out if a property is in a good or safe location when you are traveling through. This one was in a dark isolated area, near the highway - entrance to parking lot was hidden and difficult to navigate- poorly lit. In a more a area. However, the staff was friendly and helpful. Room was worn and dirty….

Run down area, sewer treatment plant nearby, smelled outside hotel but not inside. Friendly staff but not the cleanest most up to date hotel. I probably wouldn’t stay again but price was good

Hotel is nicely located. Quick fast and easy checkin. Room is good size.

The property was close to where I needed to be. The rooms are in need of renovation. The handicap shower had a crack and small hole in the base. The water pressure was way too low. The flow trickled out of the shower head. The room was 7 out of 10 for cleanliness. Could have been a little more clean. There was one coffee creamer and one sugar. Only one packet of coffee. King size bed - usually have more than one person staying in this size room.

Honestly this hotel isn't bad compared to some I have been to in the past. I slept well and the service was very good. The people were nice and friendly. The breakfast was pretty good as well. I've had less options at better rated hotels so thats a one upper to me. I will definitely be keeping this place in mind for future places to stay if I ever need it again. There is a few things I'd like to see improved upon down the road, but these things I find minor and dont effect how I feel about returning in the future.The elevator has an unpleasant smell to it and the door sometimes doesn't close properly. It takes it a try or 2 for it to actually close. Not a big deal, but just a heads up for those who might find it concerning. The hot and cold water were backwards in our shower, took my fiance longer than it should have to figure that out. He was afraid we would only have cold showers. So be aware that may be possible in some of the rooms if it was that way for ours. And the last thing I can say I didn't care for was the soaps they have available for use. What is on the label is not what is in the bottles. They definitely refill them with plain soap. You can tell by the consistency and smell. Its kinda watery too which makes me think they water it down too. So just be aware you should probably bring you own soaps. We would have but it was an unplanned stay for us so we didnt have much of a choice. Overall, for the price, convenience, and service I do plan on coming back again.

don't have good breakfast

Staff was super nice, The bed was incredibly comfortable with a pillowtop mattress. Had a wonderful night sleep. Decent breakfast too, with scrambled eggs, sausage, toast yogurt etc.

Our room was clean and well maintained. There were plenty of power outlets. That was a nice bonus. Everything worked and the lobby and breakfast area were inviting. The breakfast was pretty good. Sausage, eggs, waffles, yogurt, juices and more.

Very comfortable rooms. Breakfast was just ok. You can do a better job with this. Maybe someone refilling the food and drinks and cleaning up after people.

The linen should be changed out every day and the breakfasts staff should monitor the status and replenish as required to ensure that all guests has the opportunity to get the meal that they paid for!

We only needed a room for 1 night but would stay longer another time. It has a great breakfast, nice pool, good "gym," helpful staff, clean room and comfortable bed.
