Dayton House Resort - BW Signature Collection

If you are looking for beach, pool, drinks and food plus a great staff. This is it. One large pool, a lazy river, indoor pool, an indoor/outdoor pool, 2 kid pools and 2 hot tubs! A bar with food and fantastic drinks (after 11 am).

The Dayton House Resort is great for families traveling with children. In addition to the beautiful sand beach on the Atlantic Ocean, there were several options for pools, indoors and out. My husband and I were traveling to watch a grandchild in a sports tournament. We booked a room with a separate bedroom, kitchen and living room. We had a balcony with a partial ocean view. The kitchen was very tiny but it suited our purposes just fine and had all the necessary kitchen items. The couch was comfortable but, unfortunately, it did not face the tv so we had to watch at an angel (the couch was super heavy and we could not move it). There was additional sleeping in the living room with a Murphy bed! (We did not use it). The bed was comfortable and the the room was fairly quiet. The bathroom was clean and fairly spacious except for the small vanity top. We had a good supply of towels and more arrived each day. There is a complimentary breakfast served in a building just beyond the parking area. It was surprisingly good with make your own waffles, a coffee bar and a hot food buffet that included eggs, potatoes, fruit, grits, sausage, bacon or ham and a muffin. Every staff person with whom we had contact was very nice and friendly. Like most beach hotels, this one was just a little "well used" and could do with an update. The pool areas and lobby were great. Parking was a little tricky due to the city of Myrtle Beach construction project.

Overall it’s a good price for a beachfront room. However the parking is terrible. You will have to walk a block to park your car because the parking fills up so quickly. Also the area to unload your car is very tight.

The indoor pool near the jacuzzi was dirty and the pool area overall was not maintained. Tiles were loose on the perimeter. The staff in the Rose Room were so friendly and welcoming.

The biggest downfall is the large contruction site down the middle of the property. We did have a couple issue with the bathroom in our room but they were taken care of promply. The onsite bar was kinda of not stocked the way it should be. There is one one single bathroom for all the people who are using the pools, hot tubs and onsite bar and it wasnt very upkept. The property is beautiful and seem pretty well kept. The beds very comfortable. The room had a slight moldy smell but we got over it right away.

Easy access to the pool was nice . The hallways however needed updating and air conditioned.the staff was very nice and helpful.the bartenders were great at the pool bar but it was very small

Even tho they had construction going on outside the building we were staying at: they were quite. The pools were nice and kept clean. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The breakfast had some new options each time and the waffle maker was amazing! They kept the room nice and tidy while we were out. Definitely a lovely beach view for a partial view. Very happy with the stay we had here!

Beautiful right on the beach and nice to access all of the properties pools. The DJ at the main pool was a lot of fun!

Older property but was well taken care of. Beds were comfortable, seating on balcony was good. Pools were great. We enjoyed the pool snack bar since we didn’t have to leave the beach/pool for lunch.

The room was plain. No pictures hanging not people friendly at all. The bathroom was not clean, there was hair all over the sink, counter and floor. There was a dirty towel hanging on the back of the door. I kept sneezing. I called the front desk to have someone come clean the bathroom and vacuum the carpet. Also the beds were small and uncomfortable. My worst stay at Dayton House!

I stayed at Dayton Resort for two nights and three days. Unfortunately, I was bitten multiple times on my legs by bedbugs during my stay. While I understand that I chose this resort due to its affordable price, and I truly appreciated the excellent food and the outstanding service from the staff, the bedbug issue significantly impacted my experience. It’s disappointing because what could have been a relaxing and enjoyable vacation has now become a painful memory. For this reason, I can only give one star.

This hotel is in unacceptable condition and should be avoided. Upon arrival, the room was visibly dirty—black mold covered parts of the bathroom, the drain was corroded with rust, and the arms of the chair were stained with grime. The phone and safe were broken, offering no basic convenience or security. The entire property felt neglected. Hallway carpets were filthy and carried a heavy stench of mold and mildew. The pool water was cloudy and uninviting, and the elevators had a strong, unpleasant odor of urine that made them difficult to use. The so-called “included breakfast” was not even in the hotel—you had to leave the building, cross a parking lot and a street, only to find a poorly maintained, unappetizing selection. The most alarming part? Roaches were found in the room. This is not just poor hospitality—it’s a serious health and safety concern. Spend your money somewhere that respects its guests and maintains basic cleanliness standards.

Beach front. Our room was spotless, comfortable.

The staff was very nice and welcoming. Overall, the biggest issue was the cleanliness of the room, which made it hard to enjoy the stay. The room had a strong odor when we arrived, and we had to buy Febreze just to feel comfortable. We also found two pieces of someone else’s underwear tucked behind the bed, which was very concerning. On top of that, the pools did not appear clean.

This is not a resort. It is a run down motel, 5 buildings and none are clean. My room was musty smelling and sheets on bed had lipstick stains and hair. There was no room service and we had to go to the main office for toilet paper, towels. We had a kitchen and on our third night roaches were everywhere. On bathroom counters, on top of the fridge, the floors, in the sinks. We were switched to another room but we had to throw out all of our food stuff and management did not even apologize. The hallways are not air conditioned neither are the elevators and it is extremely hot in the elevators. The hallways also have a strong urine smell. The so called restaurant is a bar set up to take orders between specific hours that are not posted anywhere. I would not stay here again even if given a free room. Food was OK but it was the same every day. The music from the DJ was awful. Terrible track selections with poor beat matching. Old outdated songs were played and the DJ did not read the crowd. The music just became loud noise. The pool was filthy!!!!! We got up at 6am and not once did we see it cleaned. My son went in once for about 5 mins and said he will not be going back because if the excessive amount of sand on the bottom of pool. The water was also murky and cloudy. We asked staff and were advised the pool was cleaned everyday very early. It was not. There were also a lot of holes in the drapes. Overall this was a horrible stay and complete let down. Very sad

Really dated and smelled strongly like mold. Wife and I didn’t feel right staying there with our 1 year old son. Our “ocean view” faced a construction zone with a giant rusty bridge. Almost ruined our family vacation. We walked out after being there for 10 minutes. Luckily I was refunded 2 day out of 3. Pictures can be very deceiving.

Stayed at this property for 4 days. house keeping didn’t make the bed or tidy room not once. Shower filled with water while using. Drained out slow after use. And door was a bit hard to close also breakfast was nasty!

Excellent view. Rooms were clean but a little older. Pools were very nice! DJ daily until 5pm. Great Hotel for the price!

Property is dated, in need of update. Rooms just ok, found several palmetto bugs in room. Plus, when booking, be aware there are several buildings with one across ocean blvd with no ocean views at all. We were initially given a room here but after complaining we're given another room in middle building. Good view there. Again, most rooms don't have ocean views so book carefully. Staff was pretty helpful overall. The free breakfast was too early, 7am to 10am daily, so we never made it once as we like to get up a bit later on vacation. Plus, breakfast is inconveniently located in a building clear across ocean blvd and they stop serving immediately at 10am! Not sure why its so early and can't be changed to 8-11. Overall location is good, room not great. Good restaurant options nearby and very good breakfast and pancake spots. So if the free breakfast isn't too important to you, explore the area. I'd recommend honeybees, blueberry grill and Harry's right near hotel. Not sure we'd stay here again but myrtle has lots of hotels. Check other options.

I was pleasantly surprised with the room. It was nice & clean. Loved the long patio and of course the beautiful ocean views.

Property is old. Room had a strong musty odor. Bed was horribly uncomfortable. Could literally feel the springs in the mattress. WiFi was super weak. Parking was the most annoying part of the trip. The free breakfast was good. Cleaning staff were very friendly.

The room was outdated.

The people are wonderful but the facility needs lots of work. The building needs upgrades and upkeep. The bathroom is ridiculously small. Not worth the money.

Property as well as room were dated and in need of updating. Rear slider door to terrace was in need of repair as it was nearly impossible to open. The staff was friendly and very accommodating, we arrived early and were able to check in at 11 am also were able to use facility on our last day and staff kept outreach baggage safe due to a late flight in the evening . Overall good stay.

Overall, an excellent hotel. Definitely in need of some renovation of rooms (stayed in a suite). Carpet was in rough condition, but the room was amazing otherwise. Included breakfast was excellent. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again.

very good hotel, excellent staff, attentive and kind to us

I had a wonderful stay at the Dayton House Hotel in Myrtle Beach! The location is perfect — right on the beach with breathtaking ocean views. The property is clean, comfortable, and family-friendly with plenty of amenities to enjoy, including the pools and relaxing lawn area. The staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect, which made my vacation even more enjoyable. I highly recommend Dayton House Hotel to anyone visiting Myrtle Beach and look forward to coming back!

Staff very friendly and helpful

Place was good but within the first few days we noticed the toilet was leaking. We asked for it to be addressed and nothing was done. We had to go back to the front desk the next day again and then they fixed it. Then 2 days later we noticed a bad awful smell coming from the bathroom. We told the front desk again and they said they would send somebody but never did. we would not be returning to this resort again.

Check in was quick and easy. We managed to get lucky and find parking in the garage attached to our building. Stayed in the suites building 7th floor. 3 nights. Room was clean. Housekeeping (Sandra) came everyday and took our trash, brought towels and toilet paper. The construction noise never bothered us, but it did obstruct our Oceanview, but I did know at the time of booking that it was there. My son (and my husband lol) actually found it to be interesting to watch. Breakfast was ok, the staff in the rose room was wonderful. My kids enjoyed all the different pools. When construction is done I would stay again.

Shuttle to and from Airport or breakfast location my wife was handicapped. More handicapped parking. Also prior to booking our room it should have been told about the construction . No idea the patios were locked Was unable to sit on balcony . Once I departed to come home the clerk at the front desk never asked how was your stay. Only safe travels. More customer service needs to be implemented to your guest.

Lets start with not so great, cuz lets be honest thats what you want to know. The pools not clean as in lazy river and in second building. Main building was cleaner then other 2 but not sparkling clean like you want a pool to be. The breakfast which is hard to complain about its free wasnt the best. It wasnt the worst I have had either. Now the Good, the Staff above and beyond. The room was clean. It was im the middle of prices so not the ritz but still nice. The View Great. But to warn you there is construction going on on pier next to hotel so if it bothers you might want to check dates. They were also updating and painting so again if it bothers you. It wasnt an issue for me but I was only in room at night.

Housekeeping was subpar and we had to ask daily for fresh towels. At one point the phone operator told us to bring our dirty towels downstairs to exchange for new ones. I complained to the front desk and they said they would tell the cleaning supervisor for that floor. The first room we were assigned smell heavy of old cigarette smoke. I can go on on but I leave it at that. It was mediocre at best.

Nice stay, staff was all friendly and provided a nice experience. Breakfast was good and the staff working the breakfast area were excellent!

This hotel has a great central location, is easy walking distance to convention center while still being on the beach. We had a suite room which is located in its own building with limited parking. There is a TON of construction on the property as well as the entire pier being rebuilt in between the buildings on the property. This property is not friendly if you have limited mobility. They do have some chairs and lawn games were convenient. Beach access is convenient, however noisy right now due to he pier construction.

The location is fabulous! There is construction currently occurring that would’ve been nice to know about. They’re working on a pier and something else maintenance was really quick to fix a faucet leak. The breakfast is always a highlight tasty and a pleasant treat in the mornings they not so pleasant is the marijuana smell from people smoking on their patios. Almost every day you could smell the marijuana.

Loved everything about this hotel , being closely located to the beach and also having an option to sit under an umbrella in the grass or pool side gave us many options daily . The young man that worked the pool bar was great with a wonderful personality , restaurants are in walking distance along with shopping , would recommend

Very reasonably priced. I had an ocean view balcony. 2 queen beds with a whole kitchenette and full size fridge. I like the secure elevators and all the pool options. Easy parking. Staff was very friendly. 10/10 recommend.

Dayton house saved our vacation after having to transfer from another hotel that was just filthy and we were unable to stay there after one day . We had a great time, great location and service by all. Thank you!!!

Excellent location, excellent food, excellent drinks, excellent recreational areas, excellent breakfast, and it's included. But they should look into the maintenance and renovation of the rooms and bathrooms. If that were fixed, it would definitely be a 10.

The breakfast was a plus. Not many breakfast options around area. McDonald's a couple blocks away but always eat the buffet and they have it set up real good and quick. You have to walk across the street to get to it but its more like a restaurant setting. Great staff

The hotel is nice, the city is doing construction right alongside the property. The breakfast consisted of several items that came frozen, were microwaved, and then sat in the buffet table until they were various colors of rubber.

Nice view of the Beach! I stay here twice a year. Very pleased with the accommodations. Except I was disappointed with the breakfast this time. The variety was not like they had in the past.

The view was great and the food was very good. We really like the breakfast variety and warm options.

Buffet breakfast was excellent along with the staffnthat served it. Supplied towels for pool. There was DJ by the pool in the afternoon that played fun games for adults and children.

It is beautiful very clean the staff is very friendly nice resort for family. Morning breakfast hands down we will return.loved every minute
