Legacy Inn - Cookeville

Average budget accomodations. A good bit of road noise and drapes don’t darken the room. Desk staff asked for a ‘incidentals’ deposit. Which has become somewhat standard in lower end accommodations. Usually they temporarily put it on a credit card, This place demanded cash, and had a cash machine conveniently located by the desk, which charged a $3 fee.

I was questioned several times about me being a single person staying in a room like she didn't believe me. Forced me to take a smoking room even though I said I wouldn't smoke in the room. I don't like sleeping in smoke. If I didn't take the smoking room after a five hour drive, she said she would cancel my reservation and it was 8p.m. at night. Paint peeling off the walls. Barely any amenities. $40 cash deposit at check in and when you check out they have to go look at the room before the refund the deposit. I won't be going back.

Very nice room. Clean with a friendly, helpful staff.

We were very impressed with this Inn. The rooms are clean and beds/linens comfortable. AbI the Inn Manager was very personable and attentive to our needs. We will definitely be staying here again. Good Value for the money. Bring $40 cash for a refundable deposit

Parking lot is tight.
