Mountain House motor Inn Downtown Gatlinburg

The beds were fairly comfortable Our room had a hot tub with a sign saying not to turn it on because it leaks. Ok..has a fireplace. That doesn't work. Very low water pressure. The exhaust fan doesn't work in the bathroom either.

Carpet and bed covering looked clean and fairly new. However, we found a lighter in the room, trash on floor behind toilet. No cold water at the sink. Light above sink had 1 out of 4 working bulbs. Pools were not yet ready for the season.

First of all, their 2 pools were not usable! One looked like a pond & the other was not balanced in chemicals (smelled awful!) Room very outdated! The last day (Memorial Day) when packing up, we found bed bugs!! When leaving, no one was in office to complain to. Will not use again. I guess I got what I paid for!!

We were given a room.by the pool and on same level as pool. I wanted to share a picture of the nasty pool water right outside of our room with mosquito larvae. Nasty opaque green water.

3 blocks from the middle of everything Gatlinburg. Leave the car parked unless you’re traveling further than the mile strip. We were pleasantly surprised and very pleased. Only 1 of the 2 pools were operational but kids didn’t mind. We would stay again fantastic value for the location.

It was good. Good beds great location. Check in and out was easy. Only 1 pool was available to swim in but was perfect because it had a kid pool.

Check in was very easy. The room ws not well kept though. We got an adjoining room and the door between was damaged like someone had previously kicked it in. The rooms looked clean but we found tons of dirt behind the bed and a soiled pillow case. The coffee pot hadnt been cleaned in a while and we were only given 1 cup between the 2 rooms. Even though the kids didnt have time to swim at all, they wouldnt have been able to swim since the pool was filled with green/dirty water. It gave us a cheap place to rest for the evening as we were passing though but I do not recommend for a long stay. We will be staying elsewhere in the future.

Property as a whole was ok. Pools were nasty and green. Room appeared to be clean until you looked under the edges of the bed. . . . Microwave in room did not work. Bathrooms are extremely outdated. Overall ok for the price range.

After reading other reviews, I knew I was taking a gamble with the cleanliness. The beds are fairly comfortable and we slept well, which is great! That’s what’s most important. The location is also great. It’s just a short walk to the Village and the main strip. Let’s start at the beginning… We walked into the room and were immediately greeted with a musty, dank smell. The sheets and blankets were stained and I’m not sure that they were washed after the last people. There were hairs on the beds when we arrived, and on the far side bed there were stains that seemed to be from bodily fluids (I have pictures). Thankfully, we did not see any bedbugs while we were there. Under the beds there is an abundance of unvacuumed grime. Some of the lights worked, and some didn’t. While these issues were unpleasant, I didn’t want to take the risk of getting moved into a room that was worse off. Overall, the lack of cleanliness is enough to make me not stay there again. However, we left without any bug issues, so I call it a win on that front! The staff were friendly enough, and I have no personal issues with anybody involved with the motel. I’m not attempting to bash the motel with this review either. It had some pros, but the cleanliness was simply unacceptable. Sure, the rooms are outdated— that’s perfectly fine! What isn’t fine though is the lack of effort that went into cleaning the room we stayed in.

It was a pretty scenery. But for inside the room it was dirty. And I was charged more money than what I was told

Room had bed bugs

Toilet was not cleaned from previous user who had some gastrointestinal event in the toilet. Hair in the shower. Almost slept in my car.

The property was conveniently located to the main area of Gatlinburg. The only complaint is the room wasn't clean & the bedding was stained. Everything was covered in a layer of dust &/or food residue.

We had a very good and confortable stay. They room was clean and the beds were comfortable.

There was nothing I liked. Shower didn't work, unsafe area, room was not cleaned well, room had a terrible smell. Front desk guy looked like he had just worked outside all day. Granted the price was cheap, should have been cheaper. Would NOT RECOMMEND

Midnight. Discovered BED BUGS in both beds while turning down covers.Room 303. Called housekeeping They came and saw the bugs. Got moved to another room. No bugs but not clean. Took photos and left a note. We were told we'd get a refund. Still waiting. We slept in our car in the parking lot. Left before anyone showed up at the office. What a disgrace. I'm surprised Expedia recommended this place!!!!!!

Bedbugs.

This hotel has cockroaches very bad. When I told the staff she handed me a can of raid. I did receive a refund when i told her we were leaving. But did not refund the night we stayed. If you choose to stay here don't take luggage in your room. The location is not worth taking the bugs home with you. You have been warned.

No hot water

It was a okay place to stay we had absolutely no hot water at all and our shower handle was broken. The beds were poorly made and could have been better. One still had dirty sheets on them.

The rooms do not looks as advertised and there were some pluming issues in the shower, but the staff was nice.

I was unhappy with the bathroom it was way too small you barely had room to move around in it , the tv was complicated to use had to call for manager to come and show how to use it , the people in the room next to us was very loud could hear every word they said , other than this it was a ok place to stay at .

Had no hot water. One lamp worked the other lamp didn’t have a cord. The light in the ceiling flickered.

Excellent location. Good place to stay for quick and easy access to downtown! Basic room with no amenities but a safe neighborhood! If youre looking for a room for sleeping, its perfect.

Bathrooms are quite small,

Bed and pillows were comfortable. Carpet was stained. Bedspread had quite a few stains. Could use a good washing. The couch had what looked like fine shreds of paper all over it. The bathtub could use new caulking all around it. It took awhile for the water to get warm enough to shower and even then, it wasn't as warm as I like it. Location is nice and within walking distance of the shopping and restaurants.

In desperate need for an update, beds were hard, room was humid and would not get comfortably cool regardless of how long the AC ran. Other patrons were loud and obnoxious. Not a wink of sleep in 2 nights. Room wasn't necessarily "dirty" but felt stale and uncomfortable. The best part about the room was being within walking distance of pretty much everything, especially the The Village. Thanks to the other patrons screaming all night about trash bears and the cops, I at least able to hit up Doughnut Friar at 5am for the best Doughnuts money can buy. Overall 3/10, even though the lady at the front was fairly nice, i dont think my family will be booking this place again.

The remote did not work for the TV so we could not get it to turn on. The front desk staff was not at the desk the entire time, so when you need help with something, they are not always there. They told me they would be out of the office a lot, and just so happened that when I needed them, they weren't there. There was hair all in our bathtub and shower from previous guests. There was black mold in the shower as well. In the bathroom window, there was a half full water bottle left from a previous guest. And behind the furniture, it was filthy. We dropped a shirt behind the dresser and was afraid to touch it because of all the dirt back there. The min fridge was frozen solid and was un-usable. We planned on using it, but it couldn't because it was room temp the entire time. The room does appear to have gone through some recent work... the caulk looked new in the bathroom, etc. But over all, more work needs to happen. Better maids maybe? A 24 hour desk staff (which is the usual for hotels),

Had no contact with staff at check in. The room key was in an envelope taped to the office window.

Still using metal keys. No telling how many keys are out there. Office is closed like 5 pm to 9 am. Any problems your on your own. No one answering room phone ; least they could do is have an answering service pickup. Photos not of this office area!!! If you arrive late your key is in envelope taped to door. I thought this was a tourist motel but there are a lot of local living there full time. I feel this Property is totally misrepresented!!!! UNSAFE!!!!

Stayed for 2 nights to walk around Gatlinburg. Absolutely no issues with parking or walking to the strip. The check-in/check-out clerk was very nice. For $70 a night after taxes, fees, and whatever else it was well worth it.

The hotel staff is simply fabulous. Due to the staff and location, I would not rate any less than 5 star

The people that work here are amazing and very nice. The facility, however, is a bit dirty and outdated. I would recommend lowering your expectations if you stay here. It’s a limited service hotel so don’t expect too much. If you want five stars then stay at the ritz Carlton. If you want a cheap place to stay that’s decent at best, then this is place for you. Close to town. Walkable.

Check-in was a new one for me - we arrived for our stay around 6:30pm and found an envelope with the last name written on it taped to the outside window. Inside was a key ( and actual key, not a key card ) to the room, receipt and a parking pass. The room we stayed in ( ground level, near the swimming pool ) was ok. The lighting could be updated, same with the carpet. The bathroomnis due for an update - tub/shower paneling was loose in a few places, dings and peeling paint in a few places. The area was busy and we could definitely hear noises from the swimming pool, but it was quiet overnight. Overall, I feel like this was an ok stay for the price paid.

Bathroom was broke for 3 days. No one was ever on duty to help. They stuck room keys on office door for check in

Was brief just an overnighter was surprised no one was there for check in around 6pm had an envelope taped to front door with my name and a key in it which was a little disturbing should someone else just walk by and get my key and receipt for the stay. Left next morning around 6:10 and still no one in office and no place to leave key. Went back to room and left key in the room

Great location, very close to the main attractions, like Anakeesta and aquarium

The hotel was in perfect walking distance to downtown. It was very quiet there and the A/C was nice and cold and the room was very clean.

Don’t let the reviews scare you. Yes the place is a little outdated but it was clean staff was very nice and it was a close walk to downtown Gatlinburg. I will definitely stay here again. The view of the mountains was great.

The location is the best thing about this place! 8 minute walk to all the fun stuff. a 4 minute drive to the smokey mountains entrance. The locals were so nice! Bears were in the trash it was a great site to see!

It was really easy to find. We found a way to bypass most of downtown. It's within walking distance to the donut friar and Maddie Mays Creamery. And all of downtown Gatlinburg. It was a great vacation!

Nice stay. It's not the 4 Seasons but it worked for us. Little outdated but for a family on a budget it was great! I'll stay here again. Convenient walk to most everything in Gatlinburg.

This was a brief get away for 1 night in Gatlinburg. I loved how close it was to the main strip, free parking, and a in room coffee maker. It served it's purpose of having a place to lay our head for 1 night. It's not fancy, and definitely dated, but for $100 it is good! Check in was the fastest I've ever had! Would definitely stay there again

The hotel is located in walking distance to parkway and is amazing to be able to leave the car at the hotel for the day and walk around. Our room was nice we only were there mainly to sleep during the day. The only thing that was overlooked was cleaning out the coffee pot in the room before we got there. However, I loved staying here and enjoyed the convenience of being here. My first time in Gatlinburg and was very happy to be close to everything.
