The property was very clean but felt dated. The parking elevator was out of service. Tge parking area was in need of repairs. Friendly staff.

My “Court Yard” view room 309 had no view of the court yard. The room was so dark at 3:00pm with the drapes open I had to use my flashlight to find the light switch to find the light switch. Our private patio was shared with the room next door. There are only 7 lounge chairs around the pool.

Parking was TERRIBLE!!! Only a second floor space accessible only by a one-way ramp. VERY POORLY lit parking garage. 3/4 elevators were not in service which required much walking to get anywhere. The signage was also much to be desired. The passkeys were very difficult to use. I am surprised that Wyndham let its name be place on this hotel.

Cute place, but seemed like walking through a maze to get to our room. Elevators could use an upgrade. Our airport shuttle driver was very helpful, offered to take us to a local taco eatery when we arrived at 1am. Hotel has a very old town, elegant vibe, would definitely stay here again.

The rooms are OK. I think the parking sucks when you have to go up that ramp I thought that not being able to take beverages to the pool was kind of crappy and also there’s no chairs to sit around the pool if you get a room in the first floor you definitely don’t have any type of balcony or patio area so it suggest second or third floor.

Solid stay. Early check in was appreciated thanks. Breakfast was solid and bar service as well. Great walking location too

Beautiful property for a great price. Terrible car park situation (two-way traffic with one-way spacing, so be cautious on the ramp), but good pool and great AC. Beds were comfortable, and rooms are clean and well-stocked. Reception is friendly. Amenities are good too, including fitness center. Overall really enjoyed the stay.

All good but, you have to control de mess when you have events in the night and the persons from the event lead their party to the parking! 2 nights in a row couldn’t sleep because the noice at 2am from people in the parking lot arguing and playing music so loud! At 2:00am please! Control please!

First, let me say I am not a picky traveler. This weekend we drove 12 hrs to arrive to a room I felt was unsatisfactory. When I checked in, I asked the gentleman if we could have housekeeping to come clean our room the next day.... that did not happen. Once we got to our room, we noticed heavy rust on the fire sprinkler, mold/mildew on the shower head, white stains (I don't want to imagine from what) on the couch and stains on the carpet. Since our room was not clean, I had to go get towels from the front desk. I told the lady at the desk about my concerns. Although she was nice, she really didn't show any concern about correcting the issues like offering to have someone come clean the areas that were disgusting or offer us another room. This was very disappointing especially being a Wyndham Rewards member. It looks worse in person than what the attached pictures show.

Let’s stand out the most was that the hotel was spotless. The room’s very clean and the staff is very friendly and a great environment.

Too much photoshop on the online property photos. The property could use upgrades. Carpet & bed duvets were very dirty.

Room was dirty. Toilet paper in the toilet. And pubic hair, head hair and makeup stains on bed. Will not be returning ever again

This hotel sucks but idc lol luckily it was only one night..... Man I really wanted to like this place though.....it's a beautiful historic property that seems to be falling apart. My review: I really wanted to like this place. It's a beautiful property but it needs some help. I'm not even sure how they are able to keep their Wyndham flag. This place is in need of some serious maintenance and staff training. At first glance the room looked wonderful. However, once the lights were on and I was using the room, it was apparent that the staff did not fulfill their duties. The carpet was burned and stained as well as what appears to be an old blood stain on the bed skirt . The bathroom was dirty to to the point where I had to clean the bathtub to take a shower. After my shower I went to wash my face with one of the towels hung out to find a pair of eyelashes attached. I went down to the desk and let them know I was disappointed, the nice gentleman at the desk offered to switch rooms but it was too late in the night for me to switch rooms for a one night stay. As I was collecting my belongings I checked under the bed and found a roll of painters tape. This tells me the room hasn't been properly cleaned since the last time they did renovations. Before leaving I decided to go check out the pool, what I found was a very dirty pool area with cigarettes all over the ground. The fountain had a dangerous broken electrical panel exposing wires. I'm am so very disappointed. 1/5

Great ambience and the area the hotel was in was nice and quiet. Beds a little too soft, I have a bad back, but didn't really harm the experience. Loved the courtyard room with a small living area and balcony. Will definitely stay here next time in town!

The room they gave us was missing some carpet on the floor. Also the A/C was very loud.

The room was great: clean, smelled good, beds were comfortable and it had a balcony with a courtyard view.

Please get a service call looked into the thermostat seemed not to let the room feel cold or close to the temperature settings. 70 wasnt cool. The ducts didnt push out great pressure at all. We slept with no blanket for this reason. All else was great! Thank you

Very small rooms, people yelling at the hallways at midnight and another screamingat 6:30am. Extra charge for the internet. $15 dlls for a continental breakfast. First and last time in this place. Pros: location and clean room.

The lighting is perfect in these rooms. The room was a little small and bathroom was tiny but nice. The room we got was right next to a service door so it was a little loud. Will return next time i will just ask for something not by a door. Very clean and felt great otherwise.

I was in room 157, which is located right next to what i think was a machine room. Was bot able to sleep at all, lots of noise and the room had a very weird smell, I had to get an air freshner because I could not stand the smell. Dont think Ill be staying here again.

It was hot in the room. It smelt old, which I knew it was an older hotel but didn’t expect it to smell like that. Only reason we slept comfortable was due to having our little usb fans to plug in. My kids enjoyed the pool, bartenders made a hella of a sangria. If you like older hotel this is definitely for you. My family and I like to sleep like we are in Alaska in this down South Texas heat. It was an experience, definitely wouldn’t stay again.

The staff at this hotel were all incredibly friendly and helpful. They made our stay more enjoyable especially the staff at the bar. Unfortunately, the rooms are pretty outdated and smelly.

The hotel itself is gorgeous and the property is well kept, however we had so many issues with staff, the toilet clogged and overflowed so maintenance moved us rooms, we go into town and they lock us out claiming we checked out and we didn’t, we had another night all of our stuff locked in while we had to leave early the next morning. Took them an hour to reach a manager and resolve , Next morning at check out come to find it they charged us an extra night we ALREADY had paid for.

The guy at the front desk was incredibly rude. I tried to check out late, but he refused to let me. I asked if I could pay for it, but he wouldn’t help. I even requested an extended stay for another day, but he said there weren’t any rooms available. I went online and booked a room anyway, and then he called me to move rooms. It was unacceptable behavior.

We have stayed here several times and love it. The front desk is nice and the chef and Alex the bartender were wonderful!! Will stay here every time we come back!

Joey and Ricardo were fabulous they made us feel like we were home the very minute we got there they were very open. They were willing to help. They went above and beyond everything was attention.10/10

House keeping didn't come to our room, even after I requested at the front desk.

This is a beautiful property. The rooms are lovely - the pool area is wonderful. The staff was exceptional. From the moment we walked into the hotel, the staff made us feel very welcomed. The receptionist was very accomodating. The waiter at breakfast was exceptional - friendly and super competent. This is a wonderful property!

I was treated boringly from the minute. I took my foot in the hotel. The receptionist Jesus was rude and did not check me in until later had an earlier flight. Although there was two guest arrive at the same time with me and he checked them immediately and when I asked him, he said well they were here last night. And they walk in with the suitcase and he did the check in in front of me. The bathroom clocked after five minutes from checking in. I over charged $45 for stuff that I never used. I never consumed and it took me two days to get a hold of somebody.

When we arrived right before four, we were told that we were going to be put in first floor when we requested a balcony room so I said I’d rather not and then we were told that we would have to come back 30 minutes to be able to get that room we asked for key in there he said no he wouldn’t give us one because he didn’t want us to go to the room so we had to wait! I felt like it was just unprofessional when everything was prearranged so in the past, I’ve always requested early arrival this time I did not so there was no reason that my room shouldn’t have been ready, but it was the fact that he denied us the key and letting us know that he wouldn’t give it to us on the basis that we would go to the room that was uncomfortable!

The stay was great. Very clean and quiet location. There was a parking lot of food trucks a block a way from property. I tried the Venezuelan Food Truck and had a shredded chicken-beef arepa with cucumber lime drink. Very Tasty and exactly what I needed after 6 hour trip to McAllen. I stayed on a Sunday night.

It was amazing. Walking distance to downtown.

Property was beautiful and walking distance to two 5 star restaurants (Salt and Philly 77) as well as a food truck park with live music. Had a great shirt trip! Will definitely stay again in the future. Getting in/out parking garage was scary with minimal space for 2-way traffic but easy to overlook for properties beauty. Private balcony was amazing. Also loved the double sinks separate from the other!

My family and I always stay here when we visit McAllen. Its a nice, quiet hotel that is also historic in downtown McAllen. It is also a great value too and there are fun restaurants, coffee/ wine bars within walking distance. Highly Recommend!

Birthday celebration stay at Casa de Palmas in McAllen, Texas. A historic hotel in the Spanish Colonial style in the heart of the city. Booked a Courtyard view roo m with balcony that I enjoyed as the balcomy overlooks a courtyard that has a lovely fountain and pretty pool. Overall all my stay was pleasant, check-in was somewhat delayed as computers were not cooperating and our beds were much firmer than desired. Biggest complaintbwas their pillows are super old and lumpy! A bit of a surprise as it is part of the Wyndham family franchise. Best part of the stay was sevwral top notch restaurants are in walking distance such as SALT and Birdie's Bistro for brunch.

AC dont work, restaurant gas leek. A lot of noises for the worker in the gas leek.

I booked this room for my elderly parents. They described the room as old and dated, in need of repairs. The bath tub would not drain properly and the tub itself was rusted. The room rate included breakfast. When they arrived to the dining room they were told it was not included. My parents decided they would pay the extra charge but when it was time to pay, they told them there was no charge. I believe there may be a communication issue between the front desk and the waitstaff.

Classic Hotel with a good restoration. Poor Quality Restaurant Food and no daily service unless requested, yet this is not informed upon check in. Did on line check in as requested and was charged a deposit after prepaying the stay, then was charged the same deposit on check in. Some online fields for check in would not activate. I noticed many complaints on line with canned pre scripted response.
