Hotel Valencia Riverwalk

Site location was a bit disappointing, abandoned buildings across the riverwalk. No pool, but a not really useful courtyard instead

Valet parking was $59 a night. I chose the public parking garage two blocks away for $10 per night.

This hotel is one of my favorites but the 60 a night for parking was outrages.

We loved our stay at Valencia Riverwalk. Our room was spacious with tons of add-on options. There was a fully stocked mini-fridge, down comforters and an honor bar in the room. We enjoyed sitting outside on the terrace during Happy Hour that overlooked the River Walk.

NO POOL JACUZZI OR SAUNA

Rooms are outdated....bathroom looked a bit dingy. Also, the ice machine was not working. Parking was in a very congested area. Too many fees .. Inconvenience of having to park somewhere else to avoid $55 hotel fee.

Nice hotel on the Riverwalk but away from hustle and bustle. Easy walk to main dining concentrations. Valet parking is convenient. Excellent staff.

From the fast and friendly valet crew to the helpful and welcoming desk clerks and mangers, this place is truly the best. The bar and restaurant provide beautiful meals, snacks, and drinks all day! I can’t wait to go back

Air conditioning did not work properly. They would not bring us a cart or bell hop to help us with our bags. And no pool

I didn't eat breakfast, and the valet is pricey.

The hotel was beautiful. Very clean and the staff was great! I highly recommend!!

Great location, nice people. My feedback is that when taping the mattress, I couldn’t believe the amount of dust that came out. Triggered our allergies, would recommend a deep cleaning.

Gorgeous hotel from the minute you walk in the lobby. Our room was great, beds were comfy and AC worked great. Bathroom was clean. Staff was super friendly. There's no free on-site parking, but we dropped our luggage off and only had to park about a block away. It was incredibly simple to get to the Riverwalk from the hotel.

Room was dusty, almost felt someone was still staying there when we arrived. Toilet paper was not replaced , no t,v remote. As well , spoke to customer service , incorrect information given to me . The situation cause to get my bank card to get blocked and bank had to issue me another card . Had no way to purchase or take care the trip I had plan for my family. Not happy at all. And they said was sorry and charge me

Friendly staff, nice facility, clean room.

The room was a bit dirty. there was hair in the bathroom not from us The staff was very nice. The restaurant was very good. The location was excellent. The price was hi for the room that we got. We will not stay there again because they were a better hotels a lot more reasonable and nicer.

They did not vacuumed the floors or wipe off the tables

No internet, no phones, ice machine broke, room smelled mildew, no self parking, construction in lobby. Had 2 day reservation but had to move to different hotel after 1 night.

The room was a little disappointing. It was clean but a bit outdated. Staying in a 'river view' room was somewhat of a joke since we were on the 9th floor and had to look down to see anything. The ac struggled to stay cool, but the bed was comfortable. We had to request fresh towels three times before we received them at 1 o'clock in the morning (fortunately we were still awake}. Besides the $55 daily valet parking fee and our room not ready until 6pm, The staff was pretty helpful.

Beautiful hotel and the staff are amazing. The only drawbacks for me was the outside noise and uncomfortable bed and pillows.

Loved the location and the super helpful staff, as well as the room. Bathroom and bedroom were superb. However a bit disappointed the room didn't include mini fridge or microwave. $18 destination fee was credited to spending the same on room service or hotel restaurant, both were slightly pricey.

Seemed a popular hotel for bachelor/ette groups so it was a little noisy in the evening (shouting in hallways and rooms) but usually settled down by about 11. Property was otherwise excellent. Only real criticism would be no fans in the bathroom which meant they held shower steam for a long time.

The river view is not that impressive. The room is okay. There’s no fridge/freezer for us to put our food. No suitcase stand. Too expensive for valet parking. $55 plus tax.

All around excellent place. My only complaints were a noisy A/C unit in the room and a shower curtain that was too short to do much good.

The property was very close to the river walk and the downtown area which made walking to attractions convenient. The room we booked was for a river view however we were only able to see a very small portion of the river since we were on the 12th floor and the shutters on the windows limited the view. Our room was hot and uncomfortable as a result. The hotel provided a box fan to help with the temperature. The room also smelled like cigarette smoke, and despite cleaning the carpet, the smell persisted. Overall, the experience was mediocre for the price point.

From the valet to the lobby service was phenomenal. Props to the valet who didn't gie up with all the rain this weekend

My husband and I recently decided to spend a night at Hotel Valencia for a staycation. However, our experience was had several issues. Upon arrival, we encountered a long line at check-in and learned our room wasn't ready, leaving many guests, including us, waiting in the lobby. After checking in, we left our luggage at the front desk and were assured it would be delivered to our room. Due to the delays, we were not able to change our attire for our a prior reservation. We were promised a call when our room was ready, but we ultimately received that notification well past 6 PM. Upon our return to the hotel, we went to collect our keys, only to find our luggage still sitting at the check-in area with no staff available to help us. To make matters worse, the complimentary wine we were promised was missing from our room. Since this was a one-night stay, the lengthy check-in process was particularly frustrating, especially considering this was our second visit to the hotel; we had faced issues during our first stay but decided to give the hotel another try. At our first stay the management had reached out to us to address our concerns. However, this time there was no follow-up from management. Typically, we stay across the street at another hotel while visiting downtown for our regular outings, but we chose Hotel Valencia this time due to the renovations at our usual spot. Overall, the experience left much to be desired, and we were disappointed with the service.

Everyone from the Valet, to the front desk staff, to the wait staff delivered impeccable service.

We loved the hotel, check in was great and the staff at the desk was wonderful, the complaint I have is at the Bar at night around 9 pm. We were kept sitting at our table no menus no service for a good 20 minutes and there was only one other person in the bar and two bartenders. we asked for service, and they came over and we asked for menus again no one came by for another 15 minutes, but they were talking at the bar. We got up and left. We will never go there again.

This property was clean and the staff was friendly everywhere we went on site. Ronnie working at the cafe provided 5-Star service to my husband and I each visit. We came for my graduation that was at the convention center. We recommend and would stay again if in the city again.

We arrived at 5 pm for check in and our room still wasn’t ready, we had to wait another hr for the room to be finished. The ice machine on our floor was broken but there was a sign to call room service for some. We did, we waited over an hr and it never came. We tried calling again and were told they didn’t have room service at that time but we could go down and get some. We were upgraded to an executive suit for waiting on the room to be ready but service was still subpar. There’s better hotels for the price in the area. Also, hotel has no parking so we had to park in a parking garage 2 blocks away.

The front desk was very polite and helpful. Especially with AJ anything we need they are helpful. And everyone through the Bell man .

The hotel staff impressed us twice before we arrived because our college aged son went from 2 nights, 1 night and then none based on his frat Halloween party date that was updated twice. For a small fee the hotel refunded us twice for dropping 1 room. You arrive at this distinguished hotel with a beautiful building with a very welcoming staff. At the front desk at check-in the complementary margarita from staff starts to get you into the SA Riverwalk state of mind. The hotel is located a little ways from the hustle & bustle that the other parts of the Riverwalk are known for during the weekend. The main hotel restaurant Dorrego's provided us with 3 good meals for dinner, lunch & brunch. An after dinner cocktail in the comfortable bar on Friday night provided a friendly & good conversation bartender. Another friendly bartender for mid-Saturday lunch made for another good meal. Our city view room was inviting & comfortable with an awesome view of a older building with architure of old charm. The hotel & it's staff made my wife's birthday weekend memorable.

Hotel is clean and in a good location, we checked in at 4:00 with reservations, they made us wait until 6:00 before a room was ready. We were not the only people affected everyone had to wait 1-2 hours for their room. Staff was polite but ineffective in solving the issue, the excuse just made me feel they have no clue what they are doing. I was there for dinner and a show, the delay cut a significant amount of time from my trip. There are plenty of other options, therefore I would not risk staying there again. Im glad it happened now as I was going to book a wedding part there in a couple months, I have time to find another place.

It was not a Condé Nast hotel experience. We are long time season ticket holders for the Broadway Across America matinees at the Majestic Theatre which is less than a block from the hotel. We often check in early at the hotel and if a room is ready we valet our car and leave our luggage in the room if there isn’t a room available, our luggage is stored by the hotel until our return. At our recent check in, I was told that yes there was a room available, but there was a $50 early check in charge. When I questioned the charge, I was told that this had always been the policy at the hotel. I’ve been staying at the hotel since it first opened and know that was not the truth. When we returned at 4, there was a long check in line that extended into the lobby and that were also groups of people sitting and standing everywhere with their luggage. The rooms were not ready. We waited until after 5 for a room. We weren’t even offered water. If you are going to charge for an early check in, than it only makes sense that you have to give a credit when the room isn’t available at check in time. I’m looking forward to a response… I

Great Location

Wonderful stay. Exactly what we needed to rest and relax. Beautiful view of the river on the quiet end of the walk.

Not only is this an amazingly, beautiful hotel with a great location, one block down from the Majestic Theater, but the service is the best I’ve ever had, and I stay in a lot of hotels. 10+ rating.

We had a great stay at Hotel Valencia Riverwalk. The location was within walking distance of major tourist attractions. The hotel was very clean, the staff were friendly and welcoming, and the bedroom was clean and well maintained.

Can’t say enough nice things about this hotel! From the car valet service(Dawin) to the front desk staff to the restaurant staff at Dorregos you can’t find a nicer place to stay on the Riverwalk! If you can have dinner on their beautiful patio overlooking the river,perfect for an anniversary trip! The hotel was also decorated all up for Christmas and smelled awesome!

Super happy with location and the hotel staff and bar, breakfast was amazing, only issue was all the little charges after I paid for the room, valet and incidentals. Next time I’ll pay for the room full price and not worry about anything else lol over all we will stay there again

Hotel was great. Good service, friendly staff always greeting us. Food was fantastic.

We had an exceptional experience at Hotel Valencia. The bed was really comfortable and the whole atmosphere at the hotel was top notch. The scones at the cafe were awesome! Will stay again if ever in San Antonio

I highly recommend staying here!! Exceptional service, our room was clean, smelled amazing too!! We ordered pancakes for breakfast and they were thick & fluffy and still warm when it was brought to us. The service here is just wonderful, from the front doors, valet service & the ladies who work the front desk. Everything was just perfect! This was our second time to stay at Hotel Valencia and we will certainly be back!! Thank you for having us!!
