Biggest disappointment by far was no mention of off-site parking being “4 blocks away” (host’s words, not mine). Only onsite option is valet which comes at the incredible price of $70/night. Maybe waiving this while the entire neighborhood around the hotel is under construction would be a great move for hotel guests? Don’t get your hopes up when the valet app asks you for your validation code either - I asked - “it should be do that” was the answer I was given.

The hotel and team were great. Valet parking is a circus we waited over an hour after calling them to have our car ready to leave one of the days they were there. The day we were going to check out it was also an hour wait because they had lost our keys. Unfortunately, we weren't the only family having this experience.

Great place to stay and easy to get to food and river walk. Only thing to be aware of is don’t velvet park. $60 a day and they park under trees and bird poop. Also didn’t lock our car.

As a newly renovated property, the Plaza San Antonio proved to be a relaxing, comfortable, fun and satisfying stay! The king room is beautifully decorated, spacious and comfortable. The outdoor areas, including two bars, seating areas and a spectacular pool made the stay all the more perfect! It’s also close to many great restaurants and attractions!

Very nice hotel with a huge outdoor yard and pool considering the location. The staff is very friendly. The restaurant is good too. On the other side though, the valet parking fee is outrageous. Street parking is limited, expensive and construction work everywhere. Parking here is more expensive than LA or NYC, it's ridiculous.

A+++!! We ended up at the Plaza San Antonio due to another hotel’s booking was cancelled by mistake during a conference week. We frantically looked for another hotel within a walking distance to the convention center, for a reasonable price. We got the jackpot! Everyone at the Plaza San Antonio was so kind and helpful. The hotel was spotless and luxurious! We had NO COMPLAINTS WHATSOEVER!! We will come back for sure!

The room was beautiful and clean. We were disappointed with how hot the room was. We tried to turn down the AC but it wouldn’t work all night. The pool water was very murky, I didn’t want to let the kids swim in it, so that was disappointing as we were only staying one night. We went to dinner and the drink I ordered “texas sunset” I think, was watered down. They did switch it out for a wine that was delicious though. My kids got their food and finished before my husband and I even got ours. The service was slow, but the food was pretty good. We also got charged a $150 maintenance fee each day, even though we were only staying 1 night. Didn’t expect that $300 charge, although they said it should fall off my account, we’ll see. 3 out 5. I don’t think I’ll stay here again.

Overall, we had a nice stay, but the layout of the rooms is very odd - the entrance to the room opens directly into the bathroom area and the living and sleeping area is accessed by walking through the bathroom. There is a separate toilet vestibule, but privacy is definitely compromised.

It was sad to see that the once very upscale Plaza hotel is now just a basic Marriott. There’s nothing wrong with Marriott, but this hotel is supposed to be one of the top and it’s not. They gutted the lobby, so there was no place to sit and wait for friends or to relax Instead they put in restaurant and bar that could some time be very loud. Food in the restaurant was average when it used to be gourmet before the takeover. Room was very clean, but no really comfortable chairs. The desk chair did not have rollers on it so it would not slide out on the carpet, but had to be lifted up and moved if you wanted to sit in it. The sofa was too firm and had no armrests. The bed was too firm for mine and my husband’s taste. I had to bring a chair from the patio to sit comfortably in the room. There was a refrigerator in the room, but it was so narrow from front to back, and could not put a plastic container of watermelon that I got at H-E-B in the refrigerator. No feeling of upscale accommodation here. All the staff were great. They made the stay much more pleasurable than it would’ve been. The day we checked out, there were quite a few people checking out (Sun.) and there was a wedding shower so I guess a lot of people using valet parking. We called ahead to get a porter to come to our room because we both have a disability so we needed help. After 30 minutes they never came and then more than 30 min to get the car after paying $59 a day valet. Won’t stay again.

I arrived early and wanted to pre-register so when i came back at 9 PM i could just go to my room. Well i was surprised when they told me there was a fee for that. Not at all happy so i didnt. No place on the property to park. Manditory valet parking. However, the room was very comfortable and clean. Strange though, that you enter into the room through the bathroom. Still, it was a nice room. Would prefer coffee instead of expresso in the room but all in all, it was a nice experience but i think i will go elsewhere next time im in town

The customer service at this hotel is unmatched and that is from everyone we came into contact with. Rather the valet, front desk, the bellhop, and the restaurant staff everyone wanted to ensure we were satisfied. This was an extremely busy weekend with a concert in town and they could have been overwhelmed with the demands but not here. Kudos to the leadership setting the right expectations and the amazing staff for delivering. Hotel was extremely clean and well kept. We highly recommend!

They accidentally gave us a room that one of their employees was painting. When we went back down to get a different room they were so apologetic to us. It really wasn’t a big deal. They gave us an upgraded room, the front desk clerk apologized, the manager allied us in the room to apologize, they then sent us a piece of cheesecake and then after we got back from the concert we went to we got a hand written apology note. They went above and beyond to make our one night stay fantastic.

The staff was rude. They over charged my card for incidentals. I woke the day after check in with 4 incidental charges with 1 room charge. Then front desk person told me they weren’t “charges”. I ask then what are they. She said “pending charges”. Refused to get management. Refused to discuss the itemized bill. When I came around the corner she was bad mouthing me to other guests. Nice. I contacted and contested every charge associated with this stay. I also contacted the property to refund my stay to Expedia. They banged room service carts down the hall at 3:30 am. So I didn’t sleep. My husband and Inwere getting away before my next round of chemo. So literally this is an not only an outrage but just heartbreaking. With staff like this, i you ou definitely will not be getting very far.

Service, Service, Service - outstanding! From Ian and the front desk who checked us in and gave us the property scoop, Louis our Bellman and Ray with valet - could not have delivered better service. Sometimes it’s the staff that make your stay and they delivered as well as Kat poolside. Would definitely stay there again. The only negative was the bartender in Corrine - not friendly at all - not even a good morning. Clearly he was put out with my free coffee and lost out on a nice tip.

The hotel was beautiful! Modern, chic and clean. The front desk staff was so kind and welcoming. The negative things I’d have to say is in the restaurant off the lobby took over 30min to get you food and for the prices it was marginal. Service was not great. Also valet on a Saturday evening was packed and it took 30 min to get your car. I think better staffing and systems could fix that. The gentleman working valet were very nice and apologized for how long it took. Valet was expensive I thought. Overall I’d be back, a great location. We loved renting the bikes!

It took over 30 minutes to pull in the check in. Buses were parked on both sides of the road and blocking guests from entering and leaving. Then when we went to check in we had been moved to the kimpton instead. The staff at the plaza was very nice but not at the kimpton. We were treated rudely

Great, recently renovated Marriott hotel. Room and bathroom were spotless. We dined at the restaurant Corinne and we were also pleased with our meal. The street surrounding the hotel is under construction but it didn’t prevent us from walking around. When the construction is finished though, it will be a really nice, well located area to enjoy. It seems that more restaurants and entertainment are coming up soon.

It was overall an excellent stay. A few things just took it down a notch for me. First: Hotel is beautiful and well maintained. The scent floating through the vents is very relaxing. The food and drinks are pretty good. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The amenities are really good. Although I wish the pool chairs were a little cleaner. But when you have pool parties over the weekend, they are probably hard to maintain day to day. Drawbacks: upon checkin, I was given a room with no balcony and no view. Nobody should ever get that room. I think it was because I booked through Hotels.com, and maybe they give the snicklefritz to Hotels.com customers. But I asked to move rooms and was immediately accommodated. The 2nd morning I was there, there was a roach in my room. I understand they can’t control things like this all the time but, I have a serious fear of roaches and it disturbed my comfort level. Another thing, the pool bar had sooo many bee’s. I got stung! But the staff had tweezers and ointment which helped tremendously. But maybe investing in some bug zappers or something could have helped. Lastly, I had breakfast one morning, asked for decaf, and was served caffeinated coffee from a decaf pot. The only reason why I am complaining about this is because I am highly sensitive to caffeine and the side effects ruined my whole day. But I was comped breakfast. I highly appreciate the staff for being so accommodating. This is really the only place I stay in SA.

Plaza San Antonio was absolutely wonderful. We were there for an intense work conference and the property was a haven to return to in the evening. Food and drinks at all of the restaurants were great. I was there with four colleagues, and we were all sad to leave. Would 100% stay again.

We stayed three nights. Our room was spotlessly clean, very quiet and comfortable. The restaurant is lovely and the food was great (a must is the Navajo Fry Bread!). But the staff were the most wonderful part of our experience. Special thanks to Tracy in the restaurant and Jorge in the bar for their excellent service.
