The Covered Bridge Inn

The Covered Bridge Inn is a bad place to stay. The hotel host was nice but provided no info about the hotel. The hotel is run down and the grounds is dirty with cigarette butts everywhere and the lobby smells of pot and cigarettes. I booked a non smoking room which is on the second floor but the entire floor and room smelt of cigarettes. There is no elevator so you have to drag your bags up the stairs. The carpet is dirty, chair is stained, the drapes were dirty, and all smelled of cigarettes. It had a mini microwave & coffee pot which I didn’t use but the mini-fridge worked! The bed was hard and uncomfortable, the tv had no movie channels, but there was free WiFi. The shower had pink dirt or mold, but the water pressure was OK. It is the least expensive hotel in the area so if you don’t mind a run down place smelling of cigarettes you can try it; I DO NOT recommend this hotel, and don’t understand how it got a high 8 star rating.

The room was good overall. I was not impressed with the toilet, there was something preventing the seat from staying up. The hotel does not have an elevator. Just be aware, and try to ask for a room on the ground floor if you have mobility issues. Everything else was fine.

Breakfast room too small. Only 3 tables with two chair.

This was a good stay for the price. We did have trouble with the limited seating at breakfast. Very small space for the number of people in it.

The Inn was perfect for my one-night stay in Brattleboro; the grounds and building were tidy, the room was clean, furnished well with everything in good repair; flat screen TV, fridge, coffee maker; bedside charging ports and the bed was very comfortable (my sole complaint is that the pillows were very round and too firm for my sleep habits). Very economical compared to other motels in the area. It's on a road with stores, restaurants and easy access off the Interstate and short distance to downtown Brattleboro. I would stay there again

The beds were comfortable. Lighting in the room could be better. Room was clean. Within walking distance to several fast food establishments. Although hotel had ice machine, no ice buckets in rooms.

The stay at the Covered Bridge was very nice. The rooms were clean and had all that we needed for a nice stay. There was a microwave and fridge which was convenient also. We used our laptop no problem. We would definitely stay again when we go to Brattleboro.

This hotel could use some upgrades. The bed could use a new mattress. The breakfast was very limited and in a tiny, cramped room.

Our second stay here, and we’ll likely return. Friendly, family-run budget hotel very convenient to I-91 and the greater Brattleboro area. Consistently clean, comfortable, good night’s sleep, good value for money. Free WiFi, parking, coffee/basic breakfast options. Taco place down the street (Tito’s) is also well worth checking out.

Horrible hotel. Bed was old and made noises when you turned over. Heard people upstairs walking. Noisy. Nasty. Have never stayed in a worse hotel. Do not recommend to anyone. The name of the hotel is very deceiving and the breakfast was a joke. No elevator.

The building had a funky smell and the room itself smelled musty and strange. The carpet in the room was moist to the touch and also smelled. The moisture in the room did not seem to dissipate even over night with the air conditioning running. The bathroom was in a bit of poor condition with the counter and tub chipping. It may have been surfaced cleaned but did not look clean. The only positive was that the bed was comfortable. If you are willing to sleep in funky conditions for the price, go for it. Just be prepared for a smell and moisture.

This hotel is disgusting. Dirty mattresses in the hall. It reeked of cigarette and pot smoke. Windows open that don’t lock. I felt deeply unsafe as a solo female traveler. I slept in all my clothes because the floor was so dirty I didn’t want my skin touching the rug or the bed. The bed spread had cigarette burns. I went to a local gym in the morning so I didn’t have to shower at the hotel. Do not book here. It was disgusting.

The housekeeping services were excellent and the staff was friendly The facility is a bit old but incredibly clean

The motel was dirty inside the room, bathroom especially - but the hallways were filthy.

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST! Disgusting room, stained sheets, stained comforters, even the chair was gross. No breakfast as advertised, the entire hotel reeked of weed. Constand noise all night. Arrived late at night and it was freezing outside, otherwise I would have slept in my car. Worst hotel I've ever stayed in, and I've stayed in some shady places.

Free breakfast was advertised - but not available - said they would refund us $10 but did not! No coffee maker in room or anywhere at all. No alarm clock in room. Wall in the bathroom needed washing badly. Makes you wonder what else was unclean - never again!

The room smelled of straight mold and was extremely dirty. We didn’t even bring our stuff in. We took one look around and left. With allergies likes ours we’d rather sleep in the car then deal with the sicknesses that would come from breathing straight moldy air all night

Hallway smelled like poop. Found a discarded diabetes test strip on the carpet. Room smelled like mildew. Nasty. And it still cost over $200.

Comfortable and clean. Some recent revews make this place sound awful but it's completely fine. Our room on the first floor was very quiet even though I heard someone open the door and occupy the room on one side. The mattress was good, tv pretty good, There was a small desk with tolling chsir, another srm chair, fridge & microwave, dressers, end tables by bed. Clean wood floor. We walked 2 minutes to Ramunto's italian restaurant where thr food is excellent. There's also fast food right next to this hotel, and a gas station. Good for passing through the area.

This place is in need of a serious update. The room was relatively clean and the bed pretty comfortable. The property just looks worn down and neglected.

Cleanliness was good. The room was dark. It could have used another lamp. The bathroom door was damaged, but it was just cosmetic. The breakfast is pretty minimal. All carbs. The beds are comfortable. I would stay here again. The place has an odd smell, but you get used to it.

Not as clean as I had hoped. Mattresses worn. Holes in bathroom door. Shabby looking common areas.

I requested a room away from the Main Street and they put us on the first room street side so I guess they didn’t read that. McDonalds was right next door, which is fine except they had a huge generator going on their property which was noisy all night long.

We were initially put off by the look of the outside of this “Inn”! But it turns out we were greeted by a smiling and polite person during check in. The room was large, clean, and comfortable. The bathroom had thick towels and well stocked. All and all it was a very pleasant stay at a very reasonable price!

Nothing special about the property outside. Inside lobby and hallways were dated. Rooms were updated nicely and clean. No TV access at the property for the 1 night and was not disclosed at check in.

Good: Checkin was a breeze even though we arrived late. Cost effective pricing. Bad: However the entire inn smelled of 3rd hand smoke. Not just hint but very strong and we had kids with us. Tried to call the manager to see if we could get another room but no answer and never responded. We ended up leaving the hotel and got a room somewhere else. Lesson learned, google reviews are spot on.

A good stopping point in my travels. Adequate for a quick overnight. I really appreciated the staff who called me to let me know that I left something behind within an hour of my leaving. Thank you.

I have requested a refund. I attepmted to cancel but your site kept kicking me off. I arrived at the hotel that day at 2pm. It was concerning. Sketchy people hanging outside smoking, windows were clearly moldy, the lobby smelled of marijuana. I left and tried to cancel the room but kept getting kicked your site.

This property was NOT handicapped accessible, the attendant was extremely rude, called us twice to ask when we would be arriving because he wanted to go to bed and despite telling him the exact time we would arrive he made us stand outside in the snowstorm waiting 7 minutes for him to come let us in just to tell us the only available room was upstairs and there was NO Elevator. We absolutely could not stay, my husband has no legs! Then he refused to refund us!

The staff was no there and it said to ring the doorbell or call the number. I arrived at 9:45 pm and I and another guest were both waiting forty-five minutes to get checked in. We kept calling and ringing the doorbell. It says the lobby is open until 11 pm but no one was around

Staff was rude and unhelful. I didnt even necessarily want a new room just wanted to sweep the floors. He lied to me and said no rooms were available when i could get 3 online right now. This is outrageous

Never saw an employee just talked through speaker rooms showing age holes in carpet and all though none smoking smelt like cigarette's, bathroom floor sticky and not clean they even reused shampoo bottle half full on sink and no new one. very overrated by Expedia feedback Please stay somewhere else if in area.

This budget hotel just north of downtown Brattleboro was a pleasant surprise. Plentiful parking, clean and updated room, comfortable sleep, basic but free and early breakfast, great price. Overall a positive experience and a good value place to stay. Lots of restaurants nearby, grocery store walking distance away.

Minimally adequate. Doesn't match the price point. Damp and musty. Bathroom in rough shape with peeling paint and janky repairs. Windows very dirty in our room and from the parking lot, most or all of them, Breakfast was next to nothing. Busy street with people hanging around smoking, vaping skateboarding, biking, etc. Can do better in Brattleboro.

I enjoyed the stay , i haven't been back in a few years. I would like to point out the uncomfortable gawking from the people who seem to wander over when your outside and ask for cigarettes or money. The town needs to get a better grip on that, i know its an ongoing issue, i enjoyed the stay regardless. Very polite people.

Easy to get to places and good eating choices.

The toilet was “slow flowing” indicating that it would likely plug or at the very least the piping needed jetting. The “no name” toiletries were manufactured in China. I didn’t use them because I was suspicious of the quality. The Direct TV offering was a limited number of channels, far fewer than what other hotels offer. The beds and sheets were serviceable, not at the standard of comfort I find in most hotels. The room was in need of a refresh - lighting in the room and bathroom was dim, the bathroom fan was barely functional, the USB charger/outlet strip was attached with Velcro. The noise from I-91 and the Wendy’s next door was clearly audible. The check-in desk/process was efficient but impersonal. The breakfast options were meager - the sign at the check-in said Superstart breakfast - not true Lastly, there was an odor - maybe incense or wood burning smoke in the room and building. This is only one step up from a truck motor lodge

Older bldg. large gap under door. We put a towel down to help drown out the noise of the people across the hall. They Were loud all night. The breakfast was a joke. Had only some fruit and bread to make toast. It was not a $177 room by far

We pass through Brattleboro a couple times per year, and recently Covered Bridge Inn had become our go-to spot to stay overnight - a simple, affordable, comfortable hotel right near the highway. We hope to return in peak season to find the place we love and remember in future. However, it’s a different place in the winter/off-season. Upon arrival, we were shown to a double bed room, and told that the hotel was “full” and no other rooms were available, with a nearly empty parking lot. Indeed, despite the No Vacancy sign out front, we only came across a handful of other guests during our stay. After much insistence that we had booked and paid for a king bed, we were shown to a room that clearly wasn’t intended to be rented out, as it was shabby and in disrepair. But it did have a king bed, so we took it. In the summer, we enjoyed complimentary coffee in the lobby and a simple breakfast from 6-10AM. Here in December, we had to ask twice before finally having the breakfast room opened at 8:45AM, and in the meantime we’d already gone next door to McDonald’s to get our morning coffee. We know Covered Bridge Inn can be so much better than this, but we’ll probably stay somewhere else in winter from now on.

staff was wonderful. the room was clean. hotels dot com said breakfast is included but there was no breakfast included at this hotel. this was important to me as my car broke down and I had no transportation so I was a little upset about that. there was a food market in walking distance and a microwave and refrigerator in the room so it all worked out in the end.

The room was clean and comfortable enough. However no breakfast was available, the breakfast room was locked shut. We found out that the place is being used for sheltering homeless , when we saw three police cars in the parking lot, attending to a commotion.

Room was pretty clean, but was poorly laid out, had weird TV controls, and was certainly not really handicapped accessible in spite of being advertised as such. While it did have a chair height toilet, it was actually a high wall tub/shower with no handheld shower and the only grab bar was completely in the wrong area to grab on to for support when you need it because you are actually handicapped as I am, and book these types of rooms because I actually need to be able to count on them. I asked the desk clerk about the lack of the walk in shower stall and handheld showerhead that I was promised and he said they didn't actually have any of those. Additionally, what they call a breakfast was actually pretty lacking by todays standards of most other motels, and it is held in a regular motel room, so the size of the breakfast space is very severely limited along with any semblance of any real selection, or even much quality to any of the offerings that were there. If you do happen to stay here you should probably just plan on just going next door to McDonalds to buy yourselves a breakfast, as this places breakfast definitely isn't likely to do it for you or your family.

The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was essentially nonexistent. The food offered was 2 kinds of bagels, toast and cereal with no bowls( had been out apparently for 2 days). Hotel is old. I reserved 2 rooms 7 months ahead and one couple was put downstairs and the other upstairs on the other side of the hotel. No elevator. Lighting was poor in the room. Room appeared clean but hotel supplies were piled in various areas of the halls. Would try to stay somewhere else if I ever came back.
