I made this reservation several weeks prior to visiting my daughter in St Albans. I wan not informed the hotel had changed ownership. The pool was unavailable as was the hot breakfast as they were renovating?!? Given a bagged breakfast of items I was not interested in. Shower head broken and exploded causing water to spray all over bathroom so unable to take shower. Bathroom had NO hooks to hang towels or clothes while in bathroom. Couldn’t find the blow dryer. No support from front end staff…. And no apology. So frustrated and unhappy with our stay.

Well first off the room they gave us had bloody sheets, neither my husband or I were on the bed till about the time he noticed that there was dried blood on the sheets. Secondly Bradly was extremely nasty to me telling me to feel free to go somewhere else over our 1 week booking we did in advance to be told we can’t take your Chime visa when I’ve use it more than once there and had to go get a different card being for the internationals. Had to rebook and lost the deal we had for our Christmas get away! I was not pleased at all with his attitude and was trying to push me out of there when I was trying to figure things out on my end and wanted to cancel it for me and I told him to shut up stop talking to me I’m trying to figure something out and basically pissed me off and made my PTSD kick in for the way he was treating me. They did fix our room and moved us but that’s not the point at all that was totally disgusting.

The staff at the property were excellent and they went above and beyond to accommodate me. I had an issue with my room and Jonah took care of it right away. The breakfast buffet was prepared nicely with lots of choices. I would recommend staying at this property. It is right off the highway and conveniently located to many attractions. There was plenty of parking. It had a nice pool and gym. Checking in and out was very nice.

Did not list pool closed whole they remodel common areas worked on. breakfast not offered till work finished. Stayed here in 2016 and 2017 rooms were being remodeled think entrance area in2020. When i checked out front desk was gone from night before so they are keeping it fresh would have like pool that evening.

The swimming pool as advertised on Expedia was closed unfortunately. Also the lobby area was under renovation and some areas not accessible. The breakfast offered was only available until 8:30 am which is too early for us -- we don't get up at 6:30!

This newly renovated spot was very nice! Wish the double bed rooms weren't more expensive then single bed but overall it was clean and well maintained. The pool said it was heated but didn't feel much warmer then any normal indoor pool. There is also a Peloton bike in the gym but I could not figure out how to log in to it. Directions nearby the bike would've been nice.

We stayed 2 nights and did not receive new towels or cleaning. We were in a block group and others did not as well. Hotel was understaffed. When I called to request towels we were told to come to the lobby. When I said we needed sheets for the pull out bed we were told to come to the lobby. The room was dirty- pink mold in the bathroom and large stains on the carpet. The air conditioning was inconsistent - either hot or freezing cold despite managing the thermostat. Breakfast was mediocre. Pancake machine was broken both mornings. Only ice ir water to be had was in the third floor and 1 of the 2 days the ice maker was broken! In a nutshell, no customer service and a two star hotel at best.

Room was gross. Stain on rug, the thermostat was unable to control the room was either too hot or too cold and when you turned the temp down the unit would start banging and the mattress was so old it bubbled up. Sheets were worn that you couldn’t keep the fitted sheet on the bed and it was so thin you could see thru to the mattress.

It was a good stay. I initially started out in Suite on the second floor, where there was Construction/Remodeling happening at the other end of the hallway, but the staff quickly moved me to the Third Floor that had previously been redone. As I have lung issues, this made the remainder of my stay much more enjoyable!!! I even extended for one more night with them!

Overall our stay was good but there were a few changes would have made it better. 1.Bathroom sink counter is ridiculous height (even higher than a kitchen counter) 2. The shower soap, etc. are located on wall near sink/ toilet necessitating stepping out of shower to get access. 3. Mattress in our room really needed replacing. Difficult to navigate in the morning due to back pain from quality/ condition of mattress

It was mostly excellent but the room itself was unacceptable for someone like me that has to have a cool room to sleep in. So if you need a room that needs to be cooled to 60 degrees,this won't do. I had to leave at 11pm because I could not sleep. I will NOT be back!

Elizabeth, the checkin girl was very friendly and helpful. She went above and beyond to help me with my checkin. She even volunteered to come out to the car and assist me with my luggage. And when I ordered takeout and they brought it to the front desk, Elizabeth deliver it to my room.

The room was very clean, beds were nice and comfortable. I especially liked the blanket, as it was fluffier and more substantial than some other hotels. Removing 1 star due to the fact that the man at the front desk who checked us in was very rude. He barely interacted as he went through the motions, and then I asked him if the room was in a certain direction, he just said “yeah”, but it definitely wasn’t in that direction. He watched me and my daughter with our 2 dogs go back and forth, trying to figure out where the room was, and he did nothing to assist. All other staff that we encountered were pleasant, though. They also charge a $75 fee per dog, which is a little steep compared to other hotels (a lot of them just waive it); it is listed in the fee description though, so it’s not as though they’re hiding it. Overall, I would stay again.

I like this hotel just I checked and the lady was very rude and disrespectful. I've never seen her before. And she made me do a lot of stuff. That I never had to do before. It was just very different and the bathtub to take a Bath. It continuously drained instead of keeping water in it.

They made me wait over an hour for my room to be cleaned then something was wrong with the door and I couldn’t get in they eventually put me in another room after many tears The main receptionist was wonderful however the younger girl was very rude and non professional

Second Time I stayed here and both times the man at the front desk was SO rude, not helpful, and condescending. First visit was when my dad passed away, and second was when I came back for his funeral. Not what I needed after flying from Texas. Why did I stay the second time- bc there is not a lot of selection and I wanted to be close to my mom.

We recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express St. Albans and had a good freezing cold Vermont experience. Hotel is situated about 30 minutes South of Burlington which is convenient when blizzards aren't around.

Safe and quiet. I loved the hotel but the surrounding area is much too rural for me. I was raised a city girl and i dont drive. There are no lyfts or ubers so i had to take a taxi. In other news, i love the gas station across the street with the dunkin donuts and subway. Very convenient. Nice hotel too. Clean and comfy with terrific staff and efficient amenities.

The stay was great. Everywhere was clean and the staff were nice and available. The only thing that we hoped was a bit different were the breakfast options. The breakfast was a continental breakfast but the options were home what limited. If that is not an issue for you then you’ll otherwise find it awesome.

Disappointing is the word that best describes this property. We paid $336 per night, and granted this was the start of fall colors, but it was by no stretch peak season and the cost was nearly double what we paid at a beautiful ski resort in Quebec just 2 days later. It would be one thing if it was walkable to St. Albans, but it’s not. It’s next to an interstate and a highschool. The free “breakfast”? Awful. The worst we’ve ever experienced with no protein and not a single piece of fruit or a vegetable in sight. The staff was cooly-friendly, not overly warm or welcoming. After checking out, we spent the next week traveling to Quebec and Stowe, hiking, and stopping at lovely out-of-the-way restaurants and driving by oodles of equally lovely off-the-beaten path lodging options that, after researching, were about $100 less expensive per night. If you’re going to stay at a place that requires getting in a car anyway to go to restaurants, shopping, etc., I’d recommend skipping the Inn at St. Albans and exploring these other options. This place missed the mark by a lot and we do not recommend. Save your money.
