Don Q Inn

Staied at the Arabia nights room. Not properly decorated to be themed that mirror above the bed cracked tub looks like its seen better days Plane is not upkept shamefully its apart of history pool freezing and dirty as hell pool room looks as if its falling apart jacuzzi falling apart missing most of its tiles doo better for what you're charging

Our room was awesome stayed in the casino Royale room. It had a great tub with lots of room around it. The view from our room was a little snow covered woods. The shower showed signs of age but was clean. The man at the front desk was very nice. The breakfast was good. Not a lot of grab and go options but the hot food was good. the building itself is very unique and interesting has a huge indoor fireplace. The pool and hot tub were a little rough but clean And we still had a great time in both.

The guy who checked us in was awesome! Had an issue with noise in the room underneath of us and he did everything he was capable of until he was able to resolve the problem finally. The building itself needs to be torn down. The entry points to the building around the pool had no locks on the doors so anyone could come in at any point. There was garbage everywhere with over flowing garbages. The pool has pieces of flooring coming off the bottom and there is no security from the outside pool entrance to the inside pool so who knows what has come through the pool. The pool room itself was noticably neglected. The huge plane is the best attraction but sadly was full of bird poop, garbage and random pieces of clothes everywhere. If this place was properly maintained it would be an awesome asset to attractions! Sadly I don't think I would stay again due to the lack of security and lack of attention to all the hazards around the property.

The room was large and clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast had several choices. You can go in the cargo plane on the property and sit in the cockpit. Very nice place.

Plenty of parking out front. Full breakfast bar in the morning to include eggs, bagels, biscuits & gravy, and a waffle maker. The Don Q provides a kitschy feel, with a grandma’s den meets old school movie glamour vibes. Friendly staff, along with an indoor pool, hot tub, and fireplace, make guests feel welcomed and cozy away from home. Thanks for a great stay!

Really enjoyed the indoor outdoor pool and hottub

Greeted by an airplane on the front lawn and an inside fireplace surrounded by Barbershop chairs… fun and fascinating! The pool and jacuzzi invite you to relax; pool table suggests healthy competition and the rooms are super spacious. The cost when we booked was unbelievably low ( far less than we paid at any of our other stops)

We went to Don Q Inn as part of a quirky adventure, we were surprised how much we enjoyed our stay there. We stayed in a regular double; the rooms are dated but they are huge, clean, and the beds were comfortable. They do also offer Fantasy Suites which would be a fun option for couples. The hot tub was very relaxing, and the pool is very nice offering indoor and outdoor swimming. The lobby is very unique with antique barber chairs surrounding a huge fireplace. There is a huge checker table, cribbage board and TV in the lobby and foosball, bumper pool and a pool table on the second floor for added fun. Breakfast was good each morning offering waffles, sausage, biscuits and gravy, bagels or toast, hard boiled eggs, oatmeal or cereal. All of the staff at Don Q were very friendly, always smiling and taking the time to talk to us making us feel very welcomed. Our only disappointments were 1) there are no restaurants nearby nor pizza delivery and 2) the underground tunnel was closed. We spoke with staff about this and were told that they are currently working on the tunnel and hope to have it re-opened next year. They are also working with the city to obtain a liquor license so that they can have a bar in the tunnel. I think re-opening the tunnel and having a bar, with pizza options at least, would really add to the appeal for Don Q Inn. Thank you staff at Don Q for the nice visit, we will be back. Cheri

The hotel staff was friendly and checking in with easy the only complaint I have is that our bathroom shower had mold and wasn't very clean as well as the tub. The fridge in our room smelled horrible and one of our TVs wasn't working overall it was a good experience and I would stay again I just hope that they improve on bathroom cleanliness

Quiet, clean, comfortable

We were excited for the kitschiness and weren’t expecting the Four Seasons, but got bitten by a spider within 10 minutes of arriving and saw a mouse scurry around when using the bathroom in the middle of the night. Felt sleazy and unkempt. Staff were nice but had to call them on the desk phone to get somebody to checking at a normal house.

We got in late and the room was really hot and musty smelling. One of the beds had bed bugs which i found after i had been laying in it. The night manager was very nice, switched us rooms, brought fresh sheets n towels. New room was fine. I extra checked for bugs but it kinda soured me on the experience.

The room was clean but, dated. Pool are was fine. No issues there. The breakfast was Okay but, not a lot of varieties. The beds were terrible! I honestly don't try to complain but, my husband and I went with my sister and her husband and out of 2 different rooms both having 2 beds, there was not one comfortable bed. Interesting little place, as long as you're not staying more than 1 night. The people running it are very nice and they're definitely doing their best with what they have to work with.

A unique & historic hotel, that was worth a visit but may not be for everyone. We stayed in the Cave Room, which was very cool, but could use some attention. It was a little musty and could have been more thoroughly cleaned. The tub was nice and the linens & towels were clean. Breakfast in the morning was good. I would stay there again and try a different themed room that wasn’t in the basement.

We stayed in the cave room, and it was THE COOLEST thing ever! The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was available and it was fairly quiet when we went. Pool and hot tub were available. The room itself was absolutely perfect. The bed was comfortable and the room was exactly as pictured. The lock on the door was electronic which made us feel safe.

When we arrived we learned that the room we reserved was not available due to a broken toilet. We were given an upgraded room, which was OK. We weren't too excited about a honeymoon, jacuzzi suite. However, the bed was comfortable and the room was very quiet. It appears that the property owners are making a concerted effort to upgrade the property, but it's still a work in-progress.

What a great room!!! Was absolutely fantastic! The layout was awkward but maneuverable.

Staff was wonderful. My room was comfortable but my complaint is that i could only get 1 channel. Weather on the minute (or something like that). Good thing i had my phone!

Everything was nice, hopefully TV upgrades are in the near future also the room was super cold the heat did not work at all.

Beautiful and charming hotel! Didn’t stay in one of the themed rooms but the room I did stay in was nice and big. The area is beautiful and scenic. My only issue was that the rooms were constantly humid.

Room was dark. Lighting needs to improve. The sink and shower had rust. The beds squeaked every time sitting on the bed and when getting off the bed. Breakfast and pool were good

The manager went out of his way to be helpful on numerous occasions. He went far beyond the call of duty and even carried my heavy suitcase to my room.

Check in guy was rude. Our room smelled like it was moldy it was one with the jacuzzi tub with carpet around it. Had a bunch of nats in the room. Bed was horrible. Not what I had in mind for a nice weekend get away out of town. And the air plane out front is discussing and filled with birds and poop everywhere

Went to the House on the Rock which is a bit odd and tacky. Wanted a hotel to go with it. Seemed like the hotel staff were related (Family run). Had some issues (early check in, door key and TV problems). Everything was addressed quickly and professionally. Great odd decor and great staff. 5 Star hotel-no, Fun- Yes!!

Initially we were disappointed with our room….when we made it known the manager quickly handled it…with an upgrade. He was very friendly and concerned with the guests happiness.

We had a nice clean sizable room. The king bed was only so-so in comfort. The property is strange and dated, but certainly fits the vibe of nearby attractions like House on the Rock. The pool looks nice.

Nice property! Parking was great, as we brought a trailer with our UTV on it. The building was a little dated, but everything was very clean and smelled good. It had a lot of unique features.

I really enjoyed this place. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean and the pool is great. I do miss the restaurant that was next door but great restaurants are just down the road. Highly recommend the experience!

Well, you can't miss that big Aircraft out front! The Inn also offers fantasy suites, but I didn't use them this time. For me it was well located to the attractions I wanted to see. Best location to the House on the Rock! While the TV didn't work, Management told me it was difficulties with their provider. The hot breakfast was great, the staff cordial and I liked the pastoral views!

Only about 2 miles to Dodgeville where several stores and restaurants are located. We highly recommend the BBQ restaurant in town! Hotel provided free breakfast, a swimming pool, and a unique place to stay. Some rooms are themed, but we opted to stay in non-themed rooms. Our two rooms were side by side and we were able to close the “stable” door from the main hallway. Neat airplane outside to tour for free. Enjoyed playing checkers in the lobby! Very close to Governor Dodge State Park.

I stay at Don Q Inn for the history of the place and the whimsey. I was pleasantly surprised to see that that had remodeled a bit since my last stay a year ago. Great place to go with many attractions around the area.

We're right by Governor Dodge State Park, so that was nice! Dodgeville doesn't have a lot of restaurants to offer, but the hotel was great.

We stayed here because we were going to house on the rock. This hotel adds a fun element and charm to your trip in between visiting there! The staff is readily available and super kind. We stayed in a basic room but it was really nice and clean. The price for staying for three days is pretty affordable. Definitely recommend!

The barber chairs were cool. They did not have the fireplace going that would have been neat to see. The room had a bad smell. The breakfast was not good. This was a one and done for me.

The staff was very helpful and available. Their breakfast was very ample and had eggs, sausage, waffles, juice, cereal, coffee, biscuits & gravy. The room was large.

Everything was ok except breakfast. It was very limited. Other than that, it was ok.

Breakfast wasn't great. Cold eggs, sausage tasted funny, very little selection. Room needed updated and repaired. I was worried about electrical outlets as they weren't covered. My shower was in whirlpool tub, I was afraid of slipping, falling and getting out. Hotel room was definitely not worth the money. Smelled in room, lighting was bad, statues in room creeped me out, bed was very uncomfortable. Do not recommend. Waste of money
