This was a nice hotel. It was quite a long walk to get to the room from the elevator and the floors were a little uneven, but the location is convenient and close to many restaurants. Parking lot filled up fast and was not very smooth. The room was clean, comfortable and everything worked fine. No breakfast, so not a great value, but we stayed there on our way up north and again on the way back home, so we were happy with our stays.

The staff was exceptionally welcoming and helpful in coordinating the airport shuttle. Our best experience was at the restaurant where we enjoyed a night cap, and the bartender was knowledgeable and very friendly. She really went out of her way to welcome us despite having large groups that she was also taking care of.

Room was nice, friendly staff and the restaurant is excellent. The parking situation is bad, only about 18 spots in a very cramped lot. BUT - we parked on the street right below our room and had no issues. Go to the visitor center and get a 3 day street parking pass for free. It's also free overnight and only 50 cents and hour during the day so its cheap. I would have liked to know ahead of time about the parking and only found out about the visitor center pass from staff at a local outfitter, the hotel never mentioned it. I would stay again, the hotel itself is good.

Overall, a good hotel... Best part by far was the location - near transit, the river (incl. walking paths), and lots of restaurants. However, while I booked a mobility accessible room by accident online, they only had one apparently and already gave it away; for people needing that, you may want to get something in writing. The room was generally quiet, but a) the HVAC system and other 'utilities-type' noises were loud when they kicked in, and b) the bathroom door did not close at all. Small note: seemingly a lot of cigarette smokers staying there, so the hallways and elevators always stunk.

The overall experience was good. Parking was little scarce, especially with a trailer. The floors were swept in our room, but I don’t think mopped in a while or not good. My daughter spilled some water like a couple drops I wiped it up and it was black. So we just wore our shoes in there. The beds are firm, but seemed to help my 2week long sciatica I have been having after sleeping in the past hotel beds. They are pet friendly which is great. No questions asked. However, the hall on the pet side smells of pee I think the carpet needs to be removed and made like the room is. Also, there isn’t a real space for dogs to go pee. There is rocks and some weed patches around the parking lot in the back. Quite a bit of traffic around there.The guest service was nice. No complaints there. The hotel was nice, what I saw. The people were nice. One of the male housekeepers thought my daughter was struggling with the room door as we loaded the cart and he put a wedge in it for her. Didn’t experience much there’s since we got in late. Can’t rate anything around there either. Maybe Tim Horton and walmart which was worth the stop. 😆 those are the only place around there we went. Overall I would stay again.

My room was cozy, comfy and clean! My bed was firm - my preference in beds. Always appreciate the Sternwheeler, their flexible/late check-ins and friendly staff. Great food in their restaurant too! This quirky floors hotel is a welcome reprieve for weary travellers and tourists. :)

Right in the middle of downtown and easily walkable anywhere there. Basic, clean king room. Very clean and quiet. Excellent wifi. Two cons - beds were pretty hard and we got parking (last stall) on a night they were full but had we come later we’d have been parked away from the hotel.

This is a great option to stay at Whitehorse, the location is very good. The room is spacious and comfortable. It has an space where the closet is, between the bedroom and the bathroom, where you may change, take out your boots and arrange your luggage without disturbing the other person in the room if they are resting. Good choice, clean and confortable.

This is a larger hotel with a restaurant attached. We ate there one night and it was good. The hotel is older but our room was updated, clean and comfortable. The two items that could be worked on would be more hot water available at peak times and the ac unit was quite loud( but effective!). We stayed twice and would stay again.

Wifi is really poor, toilet tissue is so thin you can practically see through it, Tony’s restaurant is excellent, staff very attentive and food really good lots of choice and super flavourful.

First and last time I will be staying at the Sternwheeler. Nothing wrong with the property itself, but after travelling for 14 hours, the last thing I wanted to deal with was a check in staff with zero customer service abilities. It really ruined my experience. I'll choose to stay elsewhere in the future.

The hotel staff did not clean our room. The bathroom offered one little bar of soap other than the dispensers located on the bathtub which were empty. The room smelt very musty and had to open the window to air out the room. Overall for the price I was very disappointed and doubt I would stay again. Also I had booked and paid for two nights stay. The hotel only had us staying for one night and called me several times to confirm our reservation then informed me that I was past check out time and I had to explain again and provide proof that I was booked and had paid through Expedia for two nights. It was very disappointing to go through this.

The check-in was wonderfully smooth, the instructions and guidance were clear. I received great replies to all my questions, the reception staff was professional. I also received support with the booking of the airport shuttle and it was great and smooth too. My room is awesome and clean, and I appreciate having a laundry service on the same floor. I highly recommend.

Unfortunately check-in took approximately 45 minutes as there was only one staff member on duty. Having to check in customers, answer the phone and various other duties. It was not the fault of the receptionist but the hotel only having one staff member was unacceptable.

Great hotel right in the heart of Whitehorse. Super easy to walk to the river, shops and dining. Very friendly, attentive staff. I had a few special requests to be sent to our room and they kindly obliged. My only comment would be to have a few more garbage cans in the lobby area and outside.

Very nice motel in downtown. Within walking distance of shops and attractions. Attached restaurant was a bit overpriced in my opinion but the food was good. Would stay there again if we're in the area.

Stayed here before, stayed again, it's a place that will give you rest if you are driving on the Alcan highway. Reception is not too friendly behind the plexy glass wall, I saw now effort to clean the snow outside of the property (but again, it's the arctic winter). But the fact that the paid breakfast place inside the building did not open at all, despite us specifically asking the night before... upset me since it set us back by an hour+ to get back on the road.
