Property was under renovations, but there was no notice in the booking site. Pool was closed and our hallway had no carpet, just old plywood floors. We nearly missed where our room was, the room number was written in pencil on the wall as the wall paper had been removed. Our room had no shampoo and conditioner and the coffee machine only worked if you turned on random light switches that were not connected to the plug in. Overall very disappointed, we have stayed at various sandman hotels and are usually pleased with our stays.

Dirty room. Dirty hallways. Dirty walls. TV didnt have cable, only apps. But TV wasn’t connected to the internet. So no TV. Also, the pool has been under renovation for months with no expected date of reopening. Equivalent of ‘no pool’. Poop should not be listed as an amenity at this hotel.

The property is dated but comfortable. Could use a reno or facelift, as well as detailed cleaning. The hallways were quite dirty, walls marked up, etc., but the beds were very comfortable. The pool was very cloudy and we didn't feel comfortable going in. No hot tub which is odd. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The neighbourhood shows signs of the toxic drug crisis and economic depression, but just keep your car locked and mind your own business and you'll be fine. RCMP station right around the corner anyway. The Denny's downstairs is fantastic. The server was lovely. I have two rowdy young kids and they were very patient with them and welcoming. Food was great. Overall, I would stay again when I'm passing through but it's certainly not a destination resort.

Overall, this property did not live up to the ratings at all. Paul was not very big and in the basement dungeon. Hallways were dirty the room rugs were filthy. The fridge froze everything. The shower sprayed everywhere, even when we tried tightening it. We were left waiting in the lobby well after check in time. For the price this was not a place we would stay again.

Came with kids and had a lot of luggage, found out our room was on the second floor and there is no elevator. Requested a room on the first floor and was told there was no rooms left that had working air conditioners. When we got to our room it was not overly clean. We stayed here because there was a pool, it was underground with no windows, dark, dingy and dirty as well and smelled bad. The positives were that the staff were friendly, there was welcome drinks and snacks, and a Denny’s right on site. Would probably not stay here again or recommend if travelling with a lot of luggage.

Specifically booked this hotel as in town for a youth sporting event as it said on the website it had a pool. Get there and find out it doesn't its been closed for months! surely this could have been reflected on the other booking platforms! it was laughable as we opened the door to the hotel room - the pictures on expedia are clearly of a different hotel! the rooms are old dirty and falling apart. KEEP DRIVING STAY ANYWHERE ELSE Worst sandman ever

I would not recommend this hotel. Smell of weed in elevator, hallways stunk and were dingy with wallpaper peeling off in places. The sheets on our bed were clean but the comfortor was very dirty and there was pubic hair in the bedside drawers.

Room and hallways are dirty, looked to not see a vacuum often. The smell of Mary Jane in the hallway headed to our room. The bath tub tap falls off and looking at all the dings in tub has been doing so for a long time. We will not stay here again.

The room was disgustingly dirty. The carpet was stained and filthy. The window sills and windows looked like they’d never been cleaned. The bathtub and toilet had permanent stains due to age. Hallways were in disrepair. Pool was out of order and not noted on Expedia. Railings were falling off and front entrance door smashed. Very unsafe for children or anyone with mobility issues

The sheets were clean but that was about all. There were spills on the cupboard doors, windows were filthy none of the furniture was wiped clean, bar stools were sticky with juice spills etc. shower did not adjust to hot water. just not a very comfortable experience!

Front staff were friendly but cleanliness was a big thing was in town with other families, two others booked two nights and moved to other hotels because of issues. Our room beds were clean but most services were dusty or sticky left behind items behind chairs that clearly arent moved at all the closer you looked the worse it got.

DIRTY. When we got into our room, it had puke all over the side of the mattress that was never cleaned (you could see chunks). The room had a terrible odour when you walked in. Beds were dirty and the door lock was busted off. We were moved into another room, however, the overall cleanliness of the room was still horrible. If it wasn’t as late as it was, we wouldn’t have stayed. We considered not staying and sleeping in our vehicle after seeing the condition of the room.

The suite we stayed in was spacious and the kitchen even had a dishwasher. The carpet seemed relatively new and the beds were comfortable. One big issue was that the suite was advertised as having one king bed and one queen bed, but the queen bed was actually a double bed which was a problem for the couple that was sleeping on it. The place was reasonably clean but could have been a bit better. The hotel is a bit rough with banged up doors and walls and outdated bathrooms. The bathtub as a bit of a mess and I would not have been comfortable sitting in it. It was fine for showering although the showerhead was not great, just adequate. Toilet needs upgrading as it is very low and would be hard for older people or people with mobility challenges. The kitchen had a few supplies but could have been more fully stocked. The staff were lovely and helpful.

This hotel is a dump. It is incredibly run down. The pool was out of service, AC didn’t work, no elevator, hallways are dark and dirty, window sills were full of dirt, outlets hanging off the wall. We did not feel safe and found a new hotel.

Single pane windows, very very loud. Im a heavy sleeper and kept waking up. A/C very loud starting up and off and on all night. My room right over a door so people coming and going every time woke me up. Needs TLC maintaining and fixing, upgrading. Some nice staff, some incompetent basically.

Parking at this hotel is terrible especially if you have a big truck. The hotel is very rundown and in desperate need of renovation. The beds are terrible. I don’t think they’ve been changed in well over a decade. I could go on, but you get the gist. I wouldn’t recommend it but very limited. Decent options in Williams Lake.

Entered the hotel late in the evening. Waited 10 minutes for anyone to come to desk. Was told by the desk person that I'd have to wait 30 minutes for the online reservation to come though. Then was told he'd never heard of Obitz. He blamed the hold up on his company Sandman Hotels. Terrible service!

If there were more than terrible options for this review, I’d have chosen it. We drove up from Vancouver with two kids and a dog to attend williams lake stampede. Arrived shortly after check in time of 4pm only to a huge line up at the front desk and one very slow person working. Some people in front of us were waiting more than an hour. We ended up waiting in line for 75 minutes before being told our room wasn’t ready yet. Nobody’s rooms were. Asked for a manager multiple times and they for some reason refused to get her even though the sign said manager on site. We ended up being an hour late for the rodeo which started at 530. Upon coming back to our room, we discovered it wasn’t clean (dirty floor, dirty bed sheets, unclean shower, and just overall in really rough shape. At $265 per night I expected something better. It was an extremely small room and mattresses felt like they were from the 80s. I don’t think the hotel received at upgrade since being built. We ended up checking out at 8pm and drove to Prince George through the late evening with two tired kids and a dog. I informed the staff the reasons why and they ended up refunding me but charged me $100, which I will be getting back when I contact Expedia about this gong show.

This hotel is right downtown, so convenient for food. The price was good and they gave us a free upgrade to a suite. We only stayed one night, but the larger room included a full kitchen. If we had stayed longer it would have been a great way to save on meals. Check in was quick and the woman was very friendly and welcoming.

The service from the staff at the Williams Lake Sandman is amazing. I always have great service when I stay here. The service at both the hotel and dennys is impeccable. This is an older hotel so expect some general wear and tear because of the properties age. I recommend this property for a stay in Williams Lake.

After being treated badly with night staff the manager helped us Summer and the two other ladies Tracy and vanseka upgraded our room and also gave us a breakfast for free. Very happy with the service. Will go back again

There is no security cameras, our vehicle was broken into. The neighbor hood is pretty sketchy and guarantee they are scoping out the parking lot every night. The hotel does nothing to prevent this. Also we believe our room had bed bugs. When we notified hotel they didn’t even acknowledge our complaint.

The price was pretty steep for what the room was. Hotels need more options for families of 5 (3 younger kids and we have a fold up cot). It should be our decision if we want a 2 queen bed room or something bigger. Denny’s used to be a great place to dine but the attached Denny’s was a huge disappointment.

Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful wish it was a restaurant other than Denny’s. Rooms were nice and beds comfortable but the halls seeemd a bit untidy and in disrepair. The pop machine was empty and out of all options for our whole stay.
