Sonesta ES Suites St. Louis - Chesterfield

Room was clean but smelled of cigarettes. Outside room always smelled of weed. Female staff very short and unfriendly. Pool was green. More of a construction worker hotel Versus family friendly.

Liked how spacious the room was with a 2 double bed bedroom and a loft with a king bed. Did not like how dirty the fixtures and floor and carpet were. The beds were clean. The pool was cloudy and when I asked when the pool gets cleaned, the staff smirked and said soon. Was cloudy all three days of our stay with bits of hair and cups floating in the pool. Actual breakfast times were different then the actual times so we missed breakfast. Staff never smiled.

There was no basketball goal on court, pool not clear, and it was closed on our 1st day. Only 1 pot in room, no dish towels or bowls. Took a long time to get these items sent to room.

Pool was so nasty couldn’t even see the bottom. We were there from Saturday to Thursday pool condition never changed. Breakfast sausage had the texture of jerky. Had to get new keys constantly bc they would just stop working even when not near a phone or anything. There was items still in the room left from someone else. We stayed last year and had a great time. This time is was terrible.

Rooms need to be dusted and cleaned, filthy fans and walls in three bed loft. Refrigerator and freezer did not work in room with kitchen. Staff very friendly, rooms are very nice size. Far away enough from city for less hustle bustle, but still convenient enough drive. Lighting/security fixtures did not work outside of doors, leaving entry for return to the room at night dark/not as safe. Better maintenance could make this a very good option vs other places to stay.

This place has a lot of potential. The loft-suite was spacious and we enjoyed having separate sleeping areas. The beds were very comfortable and the shower was adequate. The location worked out very well for us and the immediate area provided all the necessities: restaurants, gas, grocery, drug store, etc. The posted amenities left a lot to be desired, though: The pool was dark and no towels provided. Our refrigerator didn't work properly and was not fixed or replaced though we reported it 3 times over a 5 or 6 day stay. There are nice looking gas grills on site, but as far as we could tell, we were expected to get our own propane somewhere. Breakfast was sparse, crowded, early, and not expecially appetizing. Staff members were a mixed bag, some helpful, one friendly but most were abrupt and borderline rude. Beds were great, other furniture not so much.

The room I booked from hotels.com was not available when I went to check in. A 2 bedroom loft the staff did find us a room with a pull out couch and discounted the rate. Basketball court rim is broken.

They have a grill but guests are to fill the propane tanks to use it.

The room was good , I asked twice for propane for the bbq pit and never got any . There were 2 bottles there but not enough gas to cook burgers

I chose this hotel so I could work out each day. They had two treadmills and one elliptical, none of which worked.

Dishes were in the dishwasher and were dirty, bathroom shower curtain was dirty.

They need to update the unit we were in badly. There is a smell when you walk in and the walls, floor, etc. all show major signs of being tired. The walls need painting, the floors are stained, the cover on the couch does not fit. The silverware in the kitchen is insufficient…2 spoons. The fan was dirty. Just needs a deep clean and paint/new carpet etc.

I’m not sure if we had a different building than all the positive reviews on here, but we were in building 7 and it was a disaster! The outside and all the way up the stairs to our door looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in years. We had a room with a loft and the carpets were really gross and the box springs under the mattress were covered in stains.The couch had some weird slipcover over it that barely fit and had a huge stain on it so we only sat on the chairs in the kitchen. The kitchen and beds were decently clean and the front staff was nice. We stayed at this place a few years ago and really liked it but it has just fallen apart since then. I have never written a review for a hotel room but I was so shocked at how terrible it was. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

I was surprised at the high pet cost per night. $150 deposit with $75 minimum cost per night. The room was not clean. There was a dirty towel left in bathroom. Dishwasher was not emptied. Feel duped to pay a premium to clean after our dog when room wasn’t fully cleaned when we checked in

We checked out within two hours of checking in. Our unit (724) smelled deplorable and was filthy. Avoid this place unless you enjoy sleeping in filth.

Room could use some updates and a decent cleaning. I pulled the couch cushion up and there was old fries, crumbs, and stains. The plug in near the vanity upstairs didn’t work. Bathtubs were not clean, shower curtain was very stained and the bathroom overall looked like it had not been cleaned in a while. Would not recommend staying here. I will not be a returning customer.

Walking into the main lobby, we were hit with a strong smell of urine. Our room was little better. The kitchen and bathrooms were clean, but it looked like the sheets hadn't been changed, just beds remade. Because it was clearly old, and the HVAC system seemed in need of replacement, the humidity in the room was palpable. It made everything feel moist, and the sofa feel sticky. The carpet and sofa were covered with stains, several light bulbs needed replacing, vents we're dusty, and it smelled like an old bowling alley. We left when we found little black specs that smeared under one pillow and black hairs under the covers of another bed.

Price here is OK, but the hotel is older and in need of updating. We slept OK, but the room is quite tired and knocked around. We shortened our stay to just one nite and moved to a nicer competing hotel.

Loud other tenants in the open area spaces of the rooms, were loud overnight til 5am without concern. wouldnt be an issue but door seals on room were not sealed and lots of sound/air passed around door.

The room was great the staff was amazing but I had people above me that were up all night stomping around and being really loud so didn’t get but 3 hrs of sleep so decided to check out early

This is a former Marriott Residence which is showing its age. Furniture cushions are pretty much shot. But everything works. And the beds are comfortable. The free breakfast is a little on the skimpy side compared to other similar properties. But, it'll fuel you up for the day. My room smelled either like old cigarette smoke or just generally stale air. It didn't make my eyes or chest burn and I got used to it pretty quick, but I would've appreciated it not smelling like that. With 6 people and a ton of food and 2 coolers, it wasn't worth trying to change rooms.

The size of the room was so perfect, allowing for a small walk in kitchen and room for a couch in front of the tv. It felt more like a small apartment, bigger than my first apartment in1975!

Everything was very good. Very clean, comfortable bed and linens. The WiFi was pretty weak, though.

The units need major updating. The carpet was filthy with stains all over it. The doors into the unit and the bathroom were very stubborn-hard to open and close. We had a two bedroom unit which we thought would be great for our family, but there were no doors on the bedrooms so no privacy. One bedroom is just like an extension of the living space on the first floor and the second one is a loft upstairs. There is a king bed upstairs but nowhere to put your suitcases. There was no luggage rack. There’s hardly any room on each side of the bed, which is where I had to put my bag, so I had to squeeze by it to get in the bed. There was no wastebasket anywhere on the second level. The only good thing was that the sink for the bathroom upstairs was on the outside of the room with the tub and toilet. The area with the tub and toilet upstairs was super small. There were always issues with the keys not working. And even though this is a safe area, there were very sketchy people hanging around late at night outside smoking. We did not feel safe arriving back late at night. The entrance to our unit was around back from where we had to park, so you had to walk through like an alley area to get to where you enter. We will not stay here again.

The room was not what they advertised. It was supposed to be a fireplace. The downstairs room was open no door. It said it was supposed to be private. The bathroom upstairs has used bath towels in it. I had to rent another room elsewhere to entertain my family because the bedroom wasn't private . I paid $161 per night. That a lot of money to get shafted. Actually it called bait and switch which is illegal. The guy at the front desk said there was nothing he could to accommodate us. I will be posting a Google review soon. private.

This place exceeded my expectations. The rooms were very clean. It was very spacious. More than enough TV’s. The beds were clean and comfortable. The check in process was super simple, and the gentleman was incredibly nice. I will definitely be coming back. I am so glad we chose to stay here!

The room was worth the price however the rudeness of the front desk staff, both on the phone and in-person, and the uncleanliness of the pool made us think twice about trying out the breakfast “menu” they supposedly offer for the entire 5 day stay we had. Had I not already pre-paid advance, I would’ve cancelled my reservation and went to Staybridge Suites where they never act like the hotel guests are problems.

Neither room key worked when we got there. Service person blamed it on us saying we must have put it near a phone. Never took the key codes out of the provided envelope until we got to the door. Tried to set up hide-a-bed no linens in room. I called the front desk and was told this was a special request and I would have to walk back to front desk again to pick them up. Hide-a-bed package only included one sheet and a blanket. No bottom sheet. The bed was not level and springs poking everywhere. Next morning could not find any dishes or silverware in kitchen. After walking to office to get coffee, I came back and found that all the dishes were in the dishwasher. Was expecting the bed to be in a bedroom, but it was not the set up was more like a studio apt than a “suite”

The only reason I can't give this place five stars is because there was a staff member that was giving my husband attitude during our stay. He called to ask when room service was coming by (we needed fresh bedding because he got sick during our stay), and was rudely told that room service is a weekly thing instead of daily, and that we couldn't request room service after they started working. That was at 11 am. We were never informed of this at all during check-in. Additionally, the laundry room was out of order, and the place the person at the front told us to use was already closed for the night, so we had to find another laundromat in the area that wasn't. Otherwise, the room was nice, and I felt safe in the area.

I would stay here again. Staff friendly, room clean, luckily we got a room away from the freeway, quiet and bed was comfortable. Loved having a kitchen for cooking. Found the dishes and silverware in the dishwasher sterilized for my arrival. Nice!

The room was clean and quiet. Very nice amenities in the suite. The phone in the room didn't work to let the desk know there were no towels. Other than that, breakfast was good, service was good and we will stay there again. It's very close to The Factory and all the things to do there.

We stayed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with family. The rooms were wonderful and the staff was very kind and they were fully staffed which was nice on a holiday. Will stay here again. The location is close to everything in the area.

First time staying here and it was outstanding! Excellent location right at the expressway, simple process for check in and check out!

Sonesta ES suites is in a great location. Very close to tons of shopping options in Chesterfield Valley. There are also a lot of places to take children for entertainment around the area.

No lights outside - our room was in the back and upstairs. No dishes of any kind in the cupboard or drawers. Before 8- the breakfast was empty- they serve until 8:30. they shut off the hot bar and threw out a few packets of instant oatmeal. nobody at the front desk so we called - they said they were short staffed and we could wait around until after 10 to talk to a manager - will never stay here again.

I’m going to be honest and say that I will probably never stay here again! The room was nice and clean. The downstairs bathroom shower was stopped up. The breakfast was awful. It says a full breakfast. The breakfast is tacos, turkey bacon, sausage and continental breakfast items. The bacon was cold and the apple juice was watered down. The biggest disappointment and the reason we chose to stay here was the pool. It wasn’t available when we checked in. The front desk said that it would opened the next day. It was but based on what we saw the first day we decided not to get in. Sonesta please do better.

Overall decent, the breakfast was little to be desired, also the outdoor pool (which is one reason we chose this place) was not kept up very well.

The property was good. It was clean, but there was a musty smell in the room when we got in and the carpet seemed to be damp. I don’t know if that was because they got cleaned or what. Bathroom was very clean. We don’t use the kitchen, but what I saw was clean. The breakfast was not very good, but it was offered

The breakfast was minimal at best... we went about 45 mins after breakfast started, and the poratoes were out and so erre the pancakes. When we approached to ask about getting them refilled, they said they were out of potatoes altogether. We waited for 20 mins for them to refill the pancacke batter, after the 20 mins we went to get breakfast elsewhere because our kids were getting very hunngry.

Cute comfortable rooms. Great for short or long stay. The breakfast was inedible due to eggs, bacon, and potatoes all being cold and well below safe temperatures.

The room was just as the pictures making our stay wonderful. We did not like that breakfast was burnt most morning and not much variety.
