Wonderfully convenient--I could park once, leave my car for the duration of my stay and daily walk to where I was working, as well as coffee houses/restaurants. I was also glad for the small fridge in the room, as well as the availability of coffee/decaf.

We were a bit disappointed in this hotel, which is basically a two-story motel. No elevator, no person on the front desk in the evenings, no ice machine that I could find. There was hair in the bath tub when we arrived, although the toilet and sink were clean. The bed was comfortable, but the sheets were scented, which we both really dislike. The room was clean and spacious. The weather was nice, and we had two windows which we opened at night, since were on the second floor, which was also nice. Breakfast was simple and good. Some cold cereal choices without sugar would have been nice.

This place is quite the gem. The rooms are set up motel style with entrances to the outside. We did not know that going in, but the rooms were very clean and well styled and appointed. Beds were very comfy. The common area has a kitchen with some snacks and coffee and tea readily available all the time. There’s a living area with fireplace and multiple tables. The breakfast was served with a cozy fire ablaze. The staff was superior, very gracious and welcoming. Overall an excellent experience and pleasant surprise. Perfect for a little family reunion.

My family stayed one night for approximately $180. We booked last minute and were grateful for their accommodations. This stay felt like a nice combination of a bread and breakfast and your classic hotel. Breakfast was included and we appreciated that although a small selection, it was a diverse selection. There were vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options. And if you’re looking for an evening or late night snack, they had items out Al day and night as well. Now, I did keep in mind we did check in closer to closing and the booking was last minute, so I don’t want to score them so poorly for this, but I did find the room to be rather dirty. I couldn’t walk barefoot on the floor as it was covered in dirt, dust and random clumps of hair. We found multiple clumps of hair in the bed spread and bathroom sink, and the sheets had shower curtains had a rather suspicious, but small, red stain. It was already past closing hours and didn’t feel worth mentioning as we were tired and only had planned to spend the night. But would definitely say something in the future if it were to happen again. Overall a 3.5/5 biggest hit being the cleanliness.

Staff accomodated our late check in by allowing us to pick up our key early (but not check in which was fine!), great comfortable room, friendly staff except for the male, the shower had some red mold around the grout but otherwise a clean and tidy room. I'd stay here again.

Good enough, but not worth the price point or location to campus. Mini split in my room had a mold issue and in obvious need of a proper cleaning. Fortunately, I was able to turn it off and sleep with open windows. Also, all floor surfaces were vynal snap-in which doesn't absorb sound. You can hear every noise in the hall.

The lobby and breakfast area are very quaint, with large fireplace to keep you toasty in the morning! Room was quite spacious with two queen beds. A bit sparsely decorated, and maybe could use a larger rug, especially in winter time, but very comfortable beds.

Owned and managed by Smith College and Excellence is evident in every aspect of this GEM of a small Inn/Hotel!! Breakfast is superb and the lobby and dining area are open, spacious and welcoming! Every staff member I have interacted with from front desk, front office, housekeeping and breakfast team are friendly, full of suggestions and ready to accommodate me in any request I have had... I recommend The Ellery to all family and friends coming to the Northampton area for business or leisure travel!! Bravo!! Job Well Done, Ellery Team!!

I let the property know in advance that I would be arriving late, around 10pm, and they gave me a code to a safe where my key would be. Upon arrival, I found the safe not to be working , and the after hours phone number went unanswered. No one returned my numerous calls. I had to find another room for the night at a higher price. I wish I hadn’t prepaid at the Ellery! Now I’ll need to get my money back somehow.

We arrived at 1 pm for a 4 pm family wedding. The desk clerk was not friendly. He informed us that our room was ready but it would cost us an extra $50 to get into the room before 4 pm. We travel and stay in hotels a lot. Never have we been charged an “early check in fee,” He rudely and dismissively told us that “it is protocol.” Instead of feeling welcomed, we felt angry and taken advantage of. It tarnished our feelings about this hotel and we will never stay here again unless management contacts us and responds to this message.

The Ellery is a sweet hotel with a lovely lobby area. We really enjoyed the delicious breakfast they provide. A big upgrade from your typical chain hotels. Service was so friendly, room was clean and had everything you need. We will definitely stay at The Ellery again. And if you are there to visit Northampton, it's a mile walk. So easy!

This was a great property! The office and amenities were top notch. Breakfast was outstanding. There were snack options available during non-meal times. Staff was extremely warm and kind. Room was spotless, completely updated, and high-end toiletries. Highly recommend and if/when we're in that area we'll for sure stay again. :)

We stayed at the Ellery for the Northampton Backporch Fest. We were able to walk the 15 minutes to the downtown venues hosting the concerts. Walked back to the hotel at night and used the self check in process to get into our room. We enjoyed breakfast by the fire before checking out the next day. Highly recommend.

Delightful little hotel! The bed was amazingly comfortable, and the breakfast bar each morning had great choices - egg bites, fresh oatmeal and avocado toast, amongst others. The hotel was just a mile walk to shops and restaurants in town. Would definitely stay again.

Breakfast is 8-10 which is too late for a weekday stay. I was there for a work conference and did not locate coffee the first day! I think that no coffee in the room is a greener, less trash alternative, but coffee by 6:30 am please!

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at The Ellery. It had the perfect energy we were looking for; quiet, calm, clean and classy. The breakfast was better than expected. When you read continental breakfast, you don't expect warm Gruyere cheese egg bites or fresh bagels and cream cheese. The coffee and tea were delicious and always available as well. All in all, a lovely stay.
