Customer service is excellen! We came earlier than the check in time. The receptionist, Susana was very accomodating, welcoming and helpful. The hotel itself is just perfect. Smells so good inside the hotel, very clean and cozy lobby and bar area. The pool is clean but a bit smaller. Our room is clean and spacious. It has a balcony with a nice view. Aircon worked well, everythings in order. They prepared a sweet surprise on our second day, a bottle of wine and a cake to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Very thoughtful , we appreaciate it so much. Walking distance to the restaurants, stores and the beach. Breakfast buffet is a plus! You have lot’s to choose from. It’s 14 min away from Albufeira city by car. It costs around 4€ with Bolt and about 37 min from Faro airport, we paid around 22€ by Bolt. Staff are all very polite, nice and efficient. We highly recommend this hotel. We will surely come back!

Had a solo 9 night break here. Staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel very clean.and well kept as was the pool. Boutique hotel so pool.was small but there was a pool bar. Entertainment on several nights during my stay including Fado...traditional Portuguese music. Great breakfast with wide variety of dishes and a lovely terrace to sit out at.

Fint poolområde inkl. poolbar. Meget opmærksomt og venligt personale. Gode middagsrestauranter i gå-afstand.

Just back from a 6 night stay at Velamar & can honestly say everything was pretty much perfect! The hotel has been designed & decorated to a very high standard-all areas immaculate! And we had the pool to ourselves some days even on the hot days. Quiet hotel with plenty of eating choices in the neighbourhood & in Olhas D,Aqua (15 minute walk away) This hotel is quite a find & we will definitely be returning!

This was our 4th visit to Hotel Velamar. It has changed a little since we last came, noticebly the bar/lounge area seems to have been refurbished and extended. There was also live music 3 evenings a week, plus an enhanced evening snack menu. There is a small alcove showing sports on a large screen TV The breakfast is quite varied and plentiful every day. Fresh eggs are available to order from the staff. We had an initial issue with our allocated room which was not available to us on check-in meaning we had to stay the first night of our stay in a different, lower standard room, and then transfer all our belongings to a new room the following day. As compensation, we were given a voucher for a free Tapas each (worth €6) which I thought was a bit mean considering the inconvenience we had been subjected to. It was never explained to us exactly why our booked room wasn't available to us at check in, as we had made our reservation sone size months ago. After moving rooms, we had our allocated Balcony room, however the bathroom was quite small, though the bed was huge and very comfortable. The balcony overlooked the road and was noisy some times, but caught the sun all day. The room has air conditioning, but the unit is located over the bed, which means that during the night it gets quite cold if you have it on, and as it was still quite warm in October, it was too hot in the room without it. Everything was clean, and the room was as serviced every day.

I had the first room on the hallway, Very close to front desk, the bar and elevator. Very noisy, hard to sleep. Not able to change the room due to full hotel. The parking was nice and had enough space. The pool area very small. I wouldn’t stay again.

Great location, lovely pool, staff were all excellent, room was spacious with nice terrace. Breakfast was good with lots of variety. Drinks vouchers for towel change opt out is a nice touch. I’d like to have had more supply of water - if your focus is sustainability, help guests avoid having to buy plastic bottles of water. The roof top is beautiful, I don’t know why this isn’t used as the restaurant/bar. The current one is so dark that it’s not inviting.

Si vous souhaitez le calme ce n’est pas l’hôtel idéal. Malgré ça le personnel est vraiment très gentil et accueillant, puis l’espace bar est très chaleureux.

There was a very strong smell of smoking around the pool - think coming from the neighbours. I asked for a late check out but seemed a standard answer no chance - not even half an hour. No nibbles or crisps available at the bar which is strange and easy to fix. Very clean though. Good breakfast. Comfy beds and sheets. A few easy improvements could really make the difference here.

I had a really relaxing time at Velamar Boutique hotel. I planned a quick getaway and it seemed to be the most convenient being as it was 30 minutes from Faro airport and only 15 minutes walking down to Maria Luisa Beach and best reviews for CLEANLINESS!! The reviews were accurate and I would like to further enforce the accuracy of this by saying I actually have a phobia of dirty or unclean spaces and the Hotel did not disappoint me, every space I entered was clean and fresh! Room cleaning is carried out on your request with the usual courtesy hanger on the door if you so require. Breakfast is served as a buffet between 7:30 AM and 10:30 AM and the menu is fairly varied from cereals, fresh fruits, hot breakfast (you can request fried eggs) sausages, bacon, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs tea coffee freshly squeezed orange juice and a few other juices. The only thing I would say or suggest is that the building owner might be considering a refurb of the building’s exterior look but that did not take away from the fact that the service from the staff and the interior design and cleanliness was EXEMPLARY. I would recommend to stay here if you are looking for value for your money. The hotel is very quiet and served it’s purpose well for me as I said a quick quiet getaway minutes from the beautiful Maria Luisa beach! Thanks Velamar Xoxo

A lovely 3 nights in the Velamar We had a room on the 2nd floor woth a sea view which was very nice. A lovely live singer around the pool on Friday afternoon she was really good. A great choice at breakfast on the roof top restaurant. All of the staff were helpful, polite and friendly. Overall a lovely hotel and can recommend staying there.

Super friendly and kind front desk staff gave us an amazing greeting and check in. Made us feel very welcome the entire time. Rooms are very clean and modern with great AC. Pool is very nice. Parking is free and easy. Good location close to many things. Would definitely stay again.

This was our 4th visit to Hotel Velamar. It has changed a little since we last came, noticebly the bar/lounge area seems to have been refurbished and extended. There was also live music 3 evenings a week, plus an enhanced evening snack menu. There is a small alcove showing sports on a large screen TV The breakfast is quite varied and plentiful every day. Fresh eggs are available to order from the staff. We had an initial issue with our allocated room which was not available to us on check-in meaning we had to stay the first night of our stay in a different, lower standard room, and then transfer all our belongings to a new room the following day. As compensation, we were given a voucher for a free Tapas each (worth €6) which I thought was a bit mean considering the inconvenience we had been subjected to. It was never explained to us exactly why our booked room wasn't available to us at check in, as we had made our reservation sone size months ago. After moving rooms, we had our allocated Balcony room, however the bathroom was quite small, though the bed was huge and very comfortable. The balcony overlooked the road and was noisy some times, but caught the sun all day. The room has air conditioning, but the unit is located over the bed, which means that during the night it gets quite cold if you have it on, and as it was still quite warm in October, it was too hot in the room without it. Everything was clean, and the room was as serviced every day.

We actually stayed 8 days over two bookings - only one review given for the whole stay. Pleasantly surprised with this hotel. All the staff were very friendly / accommodating and English was widely understood if not actually spoken. The pool is not massive but ok (we went to the nearby beach most days - 20 minutes’ walk) and getting a sunbed would be a challenge if everyone appeared. Fortunately, most people were sensible and did not "reserve" their beds hours before actually appearing. The location is good and very easy to walk to Olhos d'agua. There are a few decent restaurants nearby i.e., within 5 minutes’ walk. There is a supermarket also within about 5 minutes’ walk Just something to think about - the hotel is "V" shaped so by definition most of the rooms face onto the roadway (not the pool). There is very little noise from outside as our room had two sets of patio doors (one inside the other). The air conditioning units are the quietest I have ever (not) heard. A real bonus when it’s hot and you want the ac on during the night. The breakfast (included) was comprehensive and set us up for the day. Not sure who trained the waiting staff but their efficiency was exceptional. Tables constantly being cleared - so no clutter, and food constantly being replaced. For three people it was a work of art. We would book again and probably will.

I had the first room on the hallway, Very close to front desk, the bar and elevator. Very noisy, hard to sleep. Not able to change the room due to full hotel. The parking was nice and had enough space. The pool area very small. I wouldn’t stay again.

Great location, lovely pool, staff were all excellent, room was spacious with nice terrace. Breakfast was good with lots of variety. Drinks vouchers for towel change opt out is a nice touch. I’d like to have had more supply of water - if your focus is sustainability, help guests avoid having to buy plastic bottles of water. The roof top is beautiful, I don’t know why this isn’t used as the restaurant/bar. The current one is so dark that it’s not inviting.

A lovely 3 nights in the Velamar We had a room on the 2nd floor woth a sea view which was very nice. A lovely live singer around the pool on Friday afternoon she was really good. A great choice at breakfast on the roof top restaurant. All of the staff were helpful, polite and friendly. Overall a lovely hotel and can recommend staying there.

There was a very strong smell of smoking around the pool - think coming from the neighbours. I asked for a late check out but seemed a standard answer no chance - not even half an hour. No nibbles or crisps available at the bar which is strange and easy to fix. Very clean though. Good breakfast. Comfy beds and sheets. A few easy improvements could really make the difference here.

Customer service is excellen! We came earlier than the check in time. The receptionist, Susana was very accomodating, welcoming and helpful. The hotel itself is just perfect. Smells so good inside the hotel, very clean and cozy lobby and bar area. The pool is clean but a bit smaller. Our room is clean and spacious. It has a balcony with a nice view. Aircon worked well, everythings in order. They prepared a sweet surprise on our second day, a bottle of wine and a cake to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Very thoughtful , we appreaciate it so much. Walking distance to the restaurants, stores and the beach. Breakfast buffet is a plus! You have lot’s to choose from. It’s 14 min away from Albufeira city by car. It costs around 4€ with Bolt and about 37 min from Faro airport, we paid around 22€ by Bolt. Staff are all very polite, nice and efficient. Had a solo 9 night break here. Staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel very clean.and well kept as was the pool. Boutique hotel so pool.was small but there was a pool bar. Entertainment on several nights during my stay including Fado...traditional Portuguese music. Great breakfast with wide variety of dishes and a lovely terrace to sit out at.

The suite we stayed in was so spacious with a lovely view. The staff at the front desk were all very friendly, helpful and really cared about our request for a quiet room. A lady at the reception (sorry didn't get her name) was particularly helpful with our many requests for boat ride to the caves, bus to the old town centre, and train ride to Lagos. There were a couple of good restaurants nearby, we tried the Thai restaurant and also Cantinho do Mar 3 course menu at an unbelievably good price. Thank you for a wonderful time in Albufeira.

Hotel bem localizado, perto de bons restaurantes e cerca de 15 min de carro do centro. Estacionamento interno. Quarto amplo, cama king, banheiro amplo com ducha quentinha. Café da manhã excelente, com suco de laranja fresquinho, pastel de nata, pães, frios, frutas, entre outras delícias. Atendimento ótimo.

Great location outside of the main area of Albufeira which we preferred as the old town and main areas were too commercial and touristy for our liking. The area near the hotel with beach was very nice with great restaurants and easy to walk to. We had a very nice patio with a view as well. Great breakfast was included.

I’d like to have had more supply of water - if your focus is sustainability, help guests avoid having to buy plastic bottles of water. The roof top is beautiful, I don’t know why this isn’t used as the restaurant/bar. The current one is so dark that it’s not inviting.

This was our 4th visit to Hotel Velamar. It has changed a little since we last came, noticebly the bar/lounge area seems to have been refurbished and extended. There was also live music 3 evenings a week, plus an enhanced evening snack menu. There is a small alcove showing sports on a large screen TV The breakfast is quite varied and plentiful every day. Fresh eggs are available to order from the staff. We had an initial issue with our allocated room which was not available to us on check-in meaning we had to stay the first night of our stay in a different, lower standard room, and then transfer all our belongings to a new room the following day. As compensation, we were given a voucher for a free Tapas each (worth €6) which I thought was a bit mean considering the inconvenience we had been subjected to. It was never explained to us exactly why our booked room wasn't available to us at check in, as we had made our reservation sone size months ago. After moving rooms, we had our allocated Balcony room, however the bathroom was quite small, though the bed was huge and very comfortable. The balcony overlooked the road and was noisy some times, but caught the sun all day. The room has air conditioning, but the unit is located over the bed, which means that during the night it gets quite cold if you have it on, and as it was still quite warm in October, it was too hot in the room without it. Everything was clean, and the room was as serviced every day.
