Staff were so helpful, welcoming and informative. She went above and beyond to help us to feel at home. Size of the room was very good. They set the sofa bed within few min after our arrival. We have kids and it was great to find a guest laundry self service here. Definitely will recommend to family and friends. Zaid

Alt i alt et super godt hotel med et altid smilende og venligt personale. Dejlig central placering og gode parkeringsmuligheder i kælderen under hotellet, til meget rimelige priser. Super fine og flotte værelser. Dejlig morgenmadsrestaurant i tilknytning til hotellet. Eneste minus er ekstraopredninger i sovesofa og køjesenge ikke er behagelige at sove i. Men alt i alt et super fint hotel, med central beliggenhed.

Flott beliggende hotell midt i hjertet av Oslo. Enkel standard, men god frokost på Egon. Flott garasjeanlegg i kjelleren, men svinedyrt.

Veldig forskjell på de som sto i resepsjonen noen var kjempe hyggelig og andre sure. Men ligger sentralt enkelt å finne fram og greit med parkering

Gutes Hotel an zentraler Lage. Parkmöglichkeiten im Parkhaus des Einkaufszentrums. Lademöglichkeiten für E-Fahrzeuge wären zwar vorhanden, jedoch ausschliesslich mit Ladekarten von Apcoa-Norwegen nutzbar. App lässt sich jedoch auf ausländische Telefone nicht herunterladen. Somit keine Lademöglichkeit für nicht einheimische3.

Front desk staff was excellent! She deserves a raise! Loved the location, and it being right in the middle of everything. I had a car, so finding out how to get to the garage was an adventure. But once I found it, everything was great! Thanks so much!

Schlechte Information beim CheckIn betreffend Parkplatz. Frühstück war sehr gut. Das Hotel hat eine gute Lage.

Typical European-style hotel. Cramped rooms, marginal beds, tiny bathrooms and showers. The staff was great and it was nice to have a bar on site. The location next to the train station is a big plus.

We used the guest laundry to do a load of laundry for our family of four after tent camping for a week. The lobby area was lovely with a bar. This hotel is also attached to the train station as well as shopping. Really enjoyed our visit

The staff in the reception gave literary zero inform when we checked in. No information about the parking in the garage which is confusing and we don’t know if we did it correctly and might get fined. We eventually learnt that you book breakfast via a code, which is served at the restaurant across. On the plus side is definitely how clean it was, the maids did a great job as well as location. You are less than 150 from the church and from Karl Johan.

Det tog alltid lång tid i receptionen. Det låg massor av hår och var smutsigt i badrummet. Blaskigt kaffe på fukosten.

Skittent i kjøleskap og skuffer.

Toilet was dirty to an extent it seemed it didn’t see a proper clean in months, it was similar to a very dirty public toilet. Shower cubicle drain was clogged so water would build it. In order to prevent water from building up, we had to have the water opened very little, making it extremely difficult to have a decent shower.

The hotel is very small, although its just right outside the train station. The blanket has blood stain and it was real disgusting!!

The customer service and staff are good, and the location is great. However, the cleanliness is horrible. When I took a shower, the bathtub became clogged almost immediately after I turned on the water. Since I was already wet, I couldn’t call anyone at the time. I had to remove a large amount of clogged hair, which I believe was left by many previous guests. It was absolutely disgusting, but I had to do it in order to use the shower. I almost threw up. I have pictures of it, but I’d rather not post them here so as not to disgust everyone. I’m very disappointed that a hotel with such a great location would have such a serious cleanliness issue.

Rommet så ikke ut til å være vasket - kun reid opp seng og satt nye hånduker. Det va ekkelt der- å jeg er ikke kresen eller kravstor.

Helt ok hotell om du må bo i sentrum. Fint rom. Fant tørket blod på enden av dyna og skitten dotrykkert med fingermerker. Jeg fikk de til å bytte dyne og vaske på do. De byttet dyne men glemte dotrykkert. Ikke verdens undergang. Ellers trygt hotell ved Oslo S om du reiser alene jente/dame. Kort vei til alt. Ok hotellfrokost på Egon.

Bra, men bør gjøre rent rommene hver dag. Ble ikke gjort, selv om vi spurte i resepsjonen.

Det var mye støv under sengen. Litt kaldt på rommet første natt. Var ikke renhold på rommet dagene vi var der.

Litt dårlig vaska på badet, smuss på veggen ved speil som gjekk greit vekknår vi tok papir og vann. Dårlig vaska toalett.

We paid a lot for a "family room" and instead got a room little larger than a shoe box, with the main bed flush against the outside wall and a bunk bed flush against the other side of the bed, the room was "that" small.... It had no air conditioning, so was really hot, even though outside is was only warm, and so uncomfortable in every sense, small and hot.... The only upsides were it's right next to the railway station and the breakfast was nice, the staff were friendly and helpful, but that didn't make up for a very expensive shoe box sized "family room".

Greit rom for en natts opphold. Ikke så lydisolert, da vi hørte naborommet snorke. Svært liten dusj, men utrolig godt trykk i dusjen.

The location was really nice, as every bus, tram, and subway line is directly downstairs, and anything downtown was very walkable. However, this hotel was loud, both inside and out. It sounded like the room next to us was doing one of those 90s inflatable park things where you wear a velcro suit and run full speed slamming your whole body onto a velcro wall. There's no AC, so when the sun is out your room gets way too hot but your window only opens about an inch. That's enough to let in the full volume of a street performer down in the little plaza, plus a couple of ladybugs. Breakfast was pretty decent, but it was already chaos by 8:30 - there were only two dirty tables available on the 3rd level. We also didn't really care for the bedding situation, with a small mat wrapped in sheets, on top of an uncovered mattress - but maybe that's common in Norwegian hotels and we're just not used to it.

Very expensive and small rooms. Supper convenient location.

Tre netter i et bittelite rom, uten aircondition og med svært begrenset mulighet for å åpne vinduet. Etpar vifter var satt inn på rommet, de ga oss utrivelig mye støy om natten, og litt luftigere rom. Dette var i løpet av noen varme dager i Oslo, så det var for varmt på rommet til at vi kunne ha det komfortabelt, spesielt gikk det ut over nattesøvnen.

The hotel itself is OK but the "family room" is so small. There's hardly any space for suitcases. If you're a family of 4 consider booking two rooms. I asked for a different room but they said that is the size of al rooms of this type which is tiny.

A localização é ótima. Perto de tudo e pode conhecer a pé os principais pontos de interesse. Equipe do hotel educada e atenciosa. Café da manhã muito bom. Quarto confortável e chuveiro bom. Único ponto negativo para mim era quarto ser pequeno, ainda mais que eu estava fazendo um tour na Europa e tinha muita bagagem.

Likte oss ikke her. Lite plass på rommet, ikke mulighet for å åpne vinduet. Ingen aircondition ! Kjempe varmt på rommet, spesielt om natten .. mye støy fra Oslo s området. Kommer ikke tilbake her

Room was tiny, we booked a family room, glad that we were travelling light and that we didn't have young children as no space in the room. Double bed was against a wall one side and about a foot away from the bunk beds. Bunk beds were old looking, chunks out of them. Staff were friendly, and breakfast at the restaurant across the hall was nice enough.

Topp frokost, sentral beliggenhet, nært til kollektivtrafikk. Meget hyggelig personale.

Dette er min andre gang på hotellet og jeg er strålende fornøyd. Min venninne var det første gangen og hun trivdes utrolig godt her. Dette er et hotell jeg vil ligge på flere ganger. Hyggelige ansatte, fint og komfortabelt rom, utsikten var bra, og vi gledet oss til å komme tilbake til hotellrommet. Hotellet er like ved Oslo sentralstasjon som gjør at det er enkelt å gå rundt omkring i Oslo! Et stort pluss da vi skulle på et arrangement i nærheten og kunne gå dit + mange andre steder! Dette anbefales på det sterkeste!

Very handy for station. Good restaurant adjoining where evening meals were good and breakfast was varied and plentiful. Receptionist was very helpful when I wanted to check in early.

The family room was small but fine for a quick city break. We really enjoyed the breakfast and the games in reception. My main gripe was the debolical check in process, not sure if they do the same everyday or we just got unlucky. We arrived at the hotel at 12.30, asking to leave bags as we know the check in doesn’t start till 4pm. The staff on the reception were really friendly, checked and said the room wasn’t quite ready but it wouldn’t be too long. We refused waiting and said we would be back later. We returned about 3pm to be met with different staff who categorically told us we could not check in until 4pm. Over the next hour (between 3 and 4pm) I watched about 50 people arrive and be told they couldn’t check in until 4pm. They were encouraged to buy a drink at the bar. In the end we were all held up in the reception with all seats taking and customers getting increasingly frustrated. Of course when the clock hit 4pm everyone raced to the check in desk where only 2 staff attempted to check us all in. I was near the front but I’d imagine the process for those near the back took close to an hour. I’m glad they managed to sell a few drinks at the bar (I’m sure that’s what they were aiming for) but for this reason only I won’t stay here again. It’s a shame because it is a nice hotel but it really got my back up!!

Veldig hyggelig opplevelse på Scandic Byporten da vi hadde en Oslo-weekend med venner. Vi fikk rommet tidlig, fikk god service av Katja i resepsjonen, god frokost og sov godt i gode senger. Det eneste vi ikke var fornøyd med var en svært dyr Irish coffee uten krem som ikke smakte godt. Her må dere skjerpe dere.

Personal i resepsjonen ved ankomst var lite imøtekommende. Sentralt greit hotell.

During a Christmas Eve gathering, we were having a discreet family get-together in the reception area, after the receptionist herself authorized and lent us glasses. We were later approached by another employee in a brusque manner, who demanded we end the gathering immediately. The rule is understandable, but the manner and tone could have been more cordial and consistent across the team. There was a lack of more welcoming and personalized service, especially on such a special occasion.

Hotellet ligger centralt. Nära till buss och tåg. Centrala Oslo var avstängt för biltrafik vilket kan innebära problem. Enklast att åka dit utan bil.

The hotel has a great location that can be found easily by car, train, bus and by foot!

Friendly and welcoming employees. Best breakfast buffet I've had for selection and quality at Egon Restaurant. Central location inside a mall (with a grocery store and convenience stores), next to Oslo S (the Central Station for trains including to/from airport), and steps from buses/trams. Walkable to sites like the Opera house, Aker Brygge.

The location is a key advantage of this hotel — easily accessible from the central train station and reachable from the airport. Our room had an amazing view of the bay and the Opera House. The rooms were quiet, and the breakfast offered a wide variety of options.

This property is right by the train station. Centrally located near shops and The Royal Palace. At a shopping mall. And breakfast included!!

Scandic Byporten is an nice hotel with modern rooms. Although the rooms are small, they are clean and functional. The hotel is well located next door to Oslo Central Station (and within a shopping Centre). Breakfast at the hotel is served next door at the Egon restaurant. Breakfast was incredibly crowded and difficult to get a seat. The hotel was very full over Easter weekend and our room, despite requesting it to be, was not cleaned. I had to complaint. It was eventually resolved.

Fint hotell, rent og pent. Personale var hyggelige og hjelpsomme. Minus var at dusjen var i badekaret og at frokosten på Egon var en trapp opp og det var lang ventetid på bord i den etasjen. Ikke så greit og navigere rundt med mat og drikke når ikke bena fungerer optimalt.

Uitstekende locatie (city center, airport train, musea, shops) en zeer goed ontbijt

Perfect for a short stay in Oslo. Hotel couldn’t be more central. Breakfast was amazing!

Perfekt läge för att ta sig runt i Oslo per fot, buss, spårvagn o T-bana. Samt precis bredvid snabbtåget till flygplatsen. Lite segt på morgonen att köa till frukosten som äts i restaurang Egon.

This location of this property was amazing!! We caught a train with all of our luggage 6 minutes after leaving the lobby. My children really loved the moody decor and the in-room bunk beds. The breakfast was probably the best part! It was amazing with a great view!

The hotel is right next to the main train station in Oslo, which is great. The included breakfast at Egon was ABSOLUTELY amazing. That alone was worth the stay.

GREAT free breakfast. The best breakfast i had. I have travelled everywhere but thus isxthe best yet. Great selections and tasteful.
