Lovely one night trip, used the spa which was quite busy but we were still able to spend a few hours there. Particularly loved the amethyst salt bath, I could have sat in there for hours. Had a casual meal in the bar which was really nice, and the service was great. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast really nice as well, lots of options and again lovely service. One slight gripe was that the bedroom was very warm and didn’t have air con, I believe they are introducing this to the hotel bit by bit, but with the recent heatwave weather the room felt pretty warm.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Great spa and pool. Walking trails in the woods to the lake are very pleasant. Breakfast and bar food were both superb.

We wanted a relaxing day/night away and that’s what we got! Our room was ready two hours early, we were allowed to use the spa area as much as we liked, even after check-out, food and service great! Loads of different relaxation areas in the spa, very relaxed, no need to book. Loved that we could go to spa even after we had checked out the following day. Grounds and hotel are lovely. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

This place has be top of the list of spa stays . The thermal suite is a great experience . Outdoor and indoor pools , saunas , jacuzzis, were really good . The bedroom was spacious and bed comfortable , the food in the lobby bar and maxwells restaurant was first class .

My stay at Farnham Estate was so relaxing & very enjoyable experience. The Spa was especially nice with a great range of facilities. The service in the Cedars Restaurant was excellent & the dinner was delicious. My only negative comment was that our room 249 was extremely hot therefore not providing us with a good sleep!

Beautiful building. Spa and thermal suite was lovely .gym well equipped, great that you can use all after check out. Reception and breakfast staff were amazing but let down on Bar staff and some staff in Cedars restaurant. Waiting about 30 mins to get serviced a drink, if you go up to the drink you're totally ignored. Many people at other tables had the same experience. Restaurant staff and Bar staff very slow, Service was a little chaotic.Rooms are very spacious and comfortable. Food was nice with very tasty Desserts. Breakfast is self service with lots of options with some made to order items.

cons first- For the price you pay for somewhere as beautiful as Farnham you expect upkeep to be better. The spa looks a little run down. Big scrapes on the wall. Bare nails and hooks. It was also really cold. We weren’t the only couple with this complaint. Everyone was lying with dressing gowns and towels wrapped around them. The cedar restaurant was also too cold. I don’t like the heat at all but when you’re wearing a full coat for dinner maybe it’s time to turn the heating on. We spent nearly €200 on dinner and left asap to go warm up. Now the pros- the staff are so lovely. Breakfast is delicious. Actually all of our food was yummy. Despite it being cold the cedar restaurants food was ridiculously good. That steak was unreal. Everywhere was lovely and clean. You know when the toilets are nice and clean you have nothing to worry about. We booked a massage and it was really relaxing. The gardens are just a treat. The amenities in the room was really great. Bed was so comfortable. The girls who cleaned the rooms done a great job. They worked so hard and were lovely.

This was our 2nd trip to Farnham and we will definitely return! Smooth check in. Beautiful room. Sink cracked but otherwise all in good condition and spotlessly clean. Housekeeping staff were very pleasant and happy to help in any way. Even let us pick our favourite Nespresso pods. The Spa is an added bonus although could maybe do with a tidy up in a few places. Love the outdoor pool! We didn’t have any treatments this time but enjoyed Thermal spa and the various relaxation rooms looking out over surrounding countryside. Gym also well equipped. Choice of food is great. Highly recommend Cedar rooms for their tasting menu. Lads in there were lovely and very attentive. Maxwells grill was great for breakfast, lunch & dinner. The choice at breakfast is fab. The old house is beautiful with sitting areas around the fire etc. Special mention to George who stops off for a yarn and provides a bit of history too! The grounds are fab for a dander, weather permitting, with nature trails of various lengths. Well done Farnham Estate! We had a wonderful time…

We stayed here a few years ago and really enjoyed it but this time not so much. There were flies everywhere in the spa, the spa smelt bad, and the towels were dirty in our room.

Just back from our 2nd stay at Farnham for anniversary/birthday celebrations. Amazing as ways! Staff are so nice and nothing is too much trouble. Food in Cedar, Maxwells & the bar was great and their is always multiple vegetarian options. Hotel & grounds are spotless, staff always smiling! The spa is great for the price and there is a decent enough gym. Our favourite place and we look forward to our next visit!

Just checked out after 2 nights and we had the most relaxing time. The hotel is beautiful! Amazing walking trails and the rooms a spacious and spotless. The spa is a great and plenty to do. There is also a gym with some machines and free weights but the trails are a great way to get your cardio in. The breakfast buffet was great and we also ate in Cedars Steakhouse & the Lobby bar. Both meals were faultless and lots of vegetarian options. The thing that made the hotel for us though was the staff and attention to detail. So friendly and helpful, nothing was any trouble. They also surprised us with a beautiful dessert and prosecco for our anniversary which was so lovely. We will definitely be back and recommending it to everyone.

Room was nice but window sliding door didn't work properly and was covered in cobwebs. The bathroom was clean but sink cracked multiple places but was functional. Shower head was fixed unable to adjust height. Breakfast was good with plenty of options. We didn't eat dinner in the hotel, options didn't suit our taste. The hotel called to say there were problems with our room so they upgraded us to a resort house. Massive 4 bed house that was spotless. Staff very courteous and kind.

It was very enjoyable overall. However the sliding door would not close properly (we did notopen it in the first place) when it started raining all we heard was a constant dripping noise most of the night and felt like chinese torture. Hardly any sleep at all. Staff were excellent, hotel lovely just that horrible experience of drip drip drip etc.

Check in was very quick and welcoming! Room was clean spacious and inviting. The bed was large but very hard. Everything about the hotel is fabulous, especially the spa and pool relaxation area. Breakfast was just amazing, such a great food choice especially those with dietary requirements. Lots of fruit and treats!

The room was extremely warm, I am a person who likes heat. I turned the regulator down and eventually to the lowest but it didn’t turn it down or off. I point this out as somewhere some energy could be saved. I will say we very much enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful setting & stunning building. Food - evening meal & breakfast we're superb. Drinks expensive. Lovely rooms, although pillows were poor, shower wasn't powerful. Noisy during the night from outside noise that sounded like a hand dryer

Lovely hotel, although we found it very warm. Beds were just okay, quite hard I found personally but everyone is different. Had to make use of the fan provided in the room. Overall our stay was great, food was tasty and spa facilities were very good. Would stay again

Everything was great... apart from the noise. There was a wedding on who made lots of noise up and down the corridor until 4am, and no-one said anything to them. We were hoping to get a restful night away but that was taken away from us. The receptionist said she passed this on and someone would call us.. but that hasn't happened.

We had the most relaxing, special weekend here. We have never experienced such amazing service, comfort and enjoyment in a hotel. Special mention for Samantha in Maxwell's restaurant. Such a pleasant and polite person. She is a credit to the hotel.

Really well presented hotel, we had an issue with our dinner reservation and there was no record of it, however the hotel manager stepped in and was able to get it resolved. Excellent service. Highly recommend

Great experience, beautiful place, the spa is one of the best ones I’ve been to and the staff is very nice and helpful. The only area of improvement would be the bar service and also at the restaurant. Long waits. Other than that it was perfect and would definitely be back.

From a very friendly & welcoming check-in, to a lovely room with good views to the excellent spa & gym facilities. Restaurants & bars are also very good, food was great with a wide variety to suit all tastes.

Excellent from start to finish. Delighted we were given a complimentary room upgrade at check-in. All the staff we encountered were exceptional including check-in & out ,bars ,breakfast room & Cedars Steakhouse. George the groundsman was super friendly and gave advice on the walks & estate facilities. Food in Cedars was exceptional and breakfast was first class. Our daughter & son-in-law were so impressed by what we told them they have booked 2 nts in Farnham later in October also.

Got charged twice for one night one by Expedia then hotel charged said had issued refund still not received after about 3 phone calls two which said will call back then last phone call which said sorting refund and still not received will be calling again today but ridiculous having to chase get a refund through their mistake off charging again . Beautiful building. Spa and thermal suite was lovely .gym well equipped, great that you can use all after check out. Reception and breakfast staff were amazing but let down on Bar staff and some staff in Cedars restaurant. Waiting about 30 mins to get serviced a drink, if you go up to the drink you're totally ignored. Many people at other tables had the same experience. Restaurant staff and Bar staff very slow, Service was a little chaotic.Rooms are very spacious and comfortable. Food was nice with very tasty Desserts. Breakfast is self service with lots of options with some made to order items.

Farnham is large estate property that offers a range of services and activities. The woodland walk was delightful and calming while the lobby bar provided a great cup of coffee and and delicious evening meal when we arrived at 8pm. We were at the Farnham Estate for a wedding. The food and service from the staff was excellent.

We only stayed one night as part of our tour of Ireland and wished it could have been for longer. Room was wonderful, very spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious with excellent variety/ quality available to choose from. Grounds were absolutely stunning. Took advantage of one of the walking trails available in the extensive grounds. Could have spent all day in the peaceful and beautiful surroundings but unfortunately we had to get off on our next leg of our trip. If ever find ourselves in the area in the future, we would not hesitate to return to Farnham Estate.

Just back from our 2nd stay at Farnham for anniversary/birthday celebrations. Amazing as ways! Staff are so nice and nothing is too much trouble. Food in Cedar, Maxwells & the bar was great and their is always multiple vegetarian options. Hotel & grounds are spotless, staff always smiling! The spa is great for the price and there is a decent enough gym. Our favourite place and we look forward to our next visit!

Check in was very quick and welcoming! Room was clean spacious and inviting. The bed was large but very hard. Everything about the hotel is fabulous, especially the spa and pool relaxation area. Breakfast was just amazing, such a great food choice especially those with dietary requirements. Lots of fruit and treats!

I rarely leave reviews, however on this occasion I feel compelled to do so. On arriving to the hotel it looks fantastic as you drive through the golf course. The Courtesy bus from the car park is a nice touch. Check in was quick and efficient and even though our room was not ready our bags were taken and we went for lunch. Lunch was nice, the server was polite and by the time we finished our bags had been taken to our room. Our room was disappointing to be honest, we had been given an accessible room, the bath was extremely slow to drain, the room was very poorly lit and there was a lack of mirrors at accessible heights for my partner to do her makeup. Spa was good however it was busy so didn't have the relaxing feel of other spa hotels. Dinner at the hotel was our biggest disappointment, we met with friends and the Fish cake starter was nice, however we ordered fillet steaks and they were severely overcooked, which for 38 euro a steak I expected better, the manager tried to explain that they had a new supplier but really I think we all know the difference between a rare fillet and a well done one and the point that we had to ask for steak knives - think they need to cover the basics. Breakfast was a good set up with lovely offering of traditional cooked breakfast and continental. Servers were quick with tea & coffee and food looked appealing. However, watch out for the undercooked eggs coming out.!!

We had a lovely stay in this property, a very relaxing and chilled place to visit. We were a bit disappointed that our room didn’t have a view and looked onto building tops. We had stayed previously and had a lovely view overlooking fields. We also found the room to be quite bright despite it stating black out curtains. The breakfast options are excellent, plenty to pick from and so fresh. Staff at breakfast were friendly and helpful. The dining options at night were not great. We ate in the bar area which we thought was overpriced for the food options and the setting. We were squashed into a small room behind the bar and were all essentially sat at round bar tables - when we both got our food, my husbands plate was half off the table. It was also over 40 euro for two burgers and fries (no drinks). We didn’t bother eating in the second night and headed into Cavan instead which is a shame as the hotel is so lovely that it would be nice to not have to leave once you check in. The facilities at the the hotel are lovely and clean too, the pool area is so relaxing and we used it a number of times during our stay - it’s one of the main reasons we booked a stay again.

So much to see and do in the hotel and its sprawling grounds. Forest walks, golf, thermal spa areas (excellent), fine dining, attentive staff. This place is a gem and has something for everyone. We were 2 adults enjoying a very relaxing child free break.
