Brilliant hotel, got free room upgrade Staff very friendly, enjoyed breakfast though the fry was poor, dried up bacon and eggs etc also the price bar food was poor Overall would recommend the hotel and was fortunate enough to play a round of golf, great leisure facilities, must do is the outdoor hot tub!

Really beautiful surroundings and building with lovely decor, touch old old style elegance even though it's modern. Liked all the cosy corners to sit and chill. Restaurant lovely with great food. Breakfast is exceptional. Room was huge with a lovely bathroom Enjoyed the leisure facilities with a warm pool, saunta, steam jacuzzi and outdoor hot tub. Definitely want to return

My wife and I enjoyed our 2 night stay. We visited the health suite and gym a couple of times and all was great. Room was spacious and warm. Could do with bar entertainment in the evening. We ended up going to a local bar for that.

Lovely hotel & great staff and great facilities, will definitely be back. However I have a comment on the gym equipment, as a regular gym user it looks like some of the equipment could do with a clean e.g. the treadmills were very dirty.

Absolutely beautiful golf course and grounds. Great food and bar, super clean and friendly. Very nice room, pool, tennis courts, fitness center, everything you could wish for at a great price!

Had overnight stay with breakfast price good. Some areas in hotel dated ie swimming pool/hot tub. Bedroom furniture/tv dated also. Areas in bedroom quite dusty. Facilities in bedroom good. Waited 25mins in bar for food give up & left, bought a sandwich in the local shop. Breakfast was lovely busy but staff were so helpful & friendly a lot of food options for breakfast. Would definitely stay again

It was a truly lovely stay as always. The only comment I would make is about the hot tub outside. It’s a pity it’s so grubby. Everything else was perfect and the new restaurant was ace! Loved every bite and what great service

Excellent property, with a lovely leisure centre! The staff was all really friendly and helpful and we enjoyed staying. The only downside is the lack of air conditioning in the rooms. We had issues with the room becoming unpleasantly warm. But nothing else to complain about.

It was very good, however the room needs a refit/upgrade with the addition of improved interior lighting + television upgrade together with being repositioned to view directly from the bed. The bathroom was clean but worn and again requiring a refit.

Lovely service. Beautiful grounds. Original buildings are lovely. Shame the “modern” (‘80s?) extension is not more sympathetic. Room very large and nice views, but felt a bit dated. Pillows were harder than I’d have liked. Would have been nice to have a recycling option. All very clean. Overall happy :)

The staff here are second to none. Everything about the property has been excellent but the staff most of all. They shine above anywhere we have stayed. The attention to detail even stretching to beautiful flowers on the balcony, is to be commended. Breakfast was well presented and very tasty. Again the staff were amazing in the dining room. Leisure facilities were a welcome treat. Wish we were staying longer.

Room not ready at 3pm and asked to wait. Whilst waiting numerous wedding guests arrived and were given their rooms straight away. After 25 minutes waiting had to queue behind the wedding guests to be seen. Receptionist then told us the room still wasn’t ready and could we wait. When I gave a quite legitimate objection, she said she would try and sort our room out but if not change us to another room. Waited a further 10 minutes watching more wedding guests arrive and getting their rooms straight away. Finally, receptionist called me over and handed me the key to a different room. Shame she couldn’t do this at the outset.

The hotel itself is nice and the rooms have been recently refurbished. However the general service is absolutely dreadful. Waiting staff in the bar seem very inexperienced. We had very long waits while our group dined in the bar. They comped our desserts as an apology, but even in serving these, they served half the table and the other half were still waiting. We did complain on our way out and they were apologetic. Hopefully they will redeem these issues but a busy hotel cannot afford to have such poor service.

Even though the fire alarm went off at 5:30am it worked as a great wake up call for us although that might not be the case for all the other guests and the staff arranged a lovely breakfast for 2 because we left very early that morning to travel somewhere else. The staff were great.

Lovely hotel in beautiful surroundings although it was very busy which was to be expected due to the bank holiday weekend. We had tea in the bar in the evening and it was lovely plentiful and very tasty. Breakfast in the morning was very busy indeed but we were seated after a few minutes. The restaurant manager said someone would be along to take our tea and coffee order. We waited, then waited then tried to get the staffs attention whereby 1 staff member totally ignored us. My husband had to get up and ask a member of staff for tea and coffee. We then waited and waited until we had eaten our full breakfast, cereal and cooked so after 25 minutes still no tea. We had to remind the staff again. I know everyone was very busy and I totally understand that but why do they not make things easier on themselves by offering a self service tea and coffee so that staff were freed up to clear tables etc. Overall a lovely hotel that could just tweak a few things to help take the pressure off staff and run more efficiently.

The property was lovely with beautiful grounds, and very pleasant staff. Dundalk town was just a short drive away. Superb breakfast. Our room included a balcony which was a nice feature - only negative was that the balcony was accessed via 2 steep steps up from the floor of the room which could be an issue for some people.

We stayed for just one night and despite it being a miserable February day it was still nice. The hotel has good facilities and was good value for a family of four. The breakfast was really good (except for the runny/watery porridge) with plenty to choose from. It's not 5 star but it's not priced at 5 star.

The dinner was ok. Crab cakes were quite dry, lamd for.main was nice but the panna cotta was awful. After dinner we had a few drinks in the bar. My wife had one lovely magorita and i ordered another from a different barman. He had no idea how to make it and proceeded to make it wrong and when i pointed this out he was not very pleased. We arrived 15 mins before breakfast was over and were greeted by excellent helpful staff...but there was not that much food left and only things like sausages and bacon were replenished. Not the croissants or.other pasteries, smoked salmon, juices etc. Then the waitress came not once but twice to lift my wifes plates and cup as she had finished while i was still eating. Very poor in this regard. Staff were really nice and friendly but Im not sure some had much experience

Upon arriving we were quickly checked in and our room was excellent! We enjoyed dinner and drinks in the bar area and had a nice walk around the grounds. Breakfast was superb with a variety of choices to be had.

Lovely hotel. Lovely staff . Golf amazing. Recently decorated and very comfortable. Amazing breakfast. Downside was the bar menu on Sunday night of bank holiday was very limited. I travelled with my husband and four teenage sons so we wanted casual dining rather than formal dining. The bar menu is quite limited and more so on a Sunday where they do not offer the pizza and chicken wings but instead have Roast of the day. Im a coeliac and the offering was very limited. Soup was my only starter option. The burger was offered without the bun and with mash.. Not very inviting. The roast of the day, without any gravy. The only real option was harrissa sweet potato wedges in a pool of yogurt, topped with pomegranate seeds and walnuts. It was very unappetising and might work as a side perhaps or a starter but it did not work as a main in any way. The kids had burgers which were very tasty it's just a shame more thought had not gone into the menu.
