Faded rose. The property shows wear on every surface. We had the largest suite whixh was huge. The bedding and linens were excellent. Every surface was scratched.nthe carpets were worn and the bathroom(s) tiles were outmoded and cracked. The tvs were small with no connectivity. The spa was underwhelming with a decent steam room and a walking shower that was not impressive. Gym was decent. Did not try the restaurant but no way does this currently deserve the 5 starsnit got decades ago. Staff was quite nice and helpful.

The inside of the building is a bit outdated, but it is kept very clean. Staff are extremely helpful and polite. I loved the gym facility and steam sauna! The room was small, but it had everything I needed to stay for 4 days. The hotel location is superb, especially if you enjoy walking. 10/10, I would come back!

We had just finished a river cruise and needed a hotel for 2 nights before flying home. We arrived around noon and were able to check in early. The location makes for easy walk to get around the old city of Lyon. So much to see and do in the area. Our double classic room (queen bed) was perfect for our needs. Hallways could use some updating. The 8th floor bar has spectular city/river night time views but is “tres” pricey.

Hôtel bien situé pour une visite à Lyon mais un peu défraîchi côté décoration. Il gagnerait à être rénové pour se mettre au goût du jour... Les chambres sont confortables mais petites, sans espaces pour les bagages quand on vient de l'international. Le gym est minuscule et mal équipé. Sinon, le personnel est très courtois.

We were there in very hot weather and the airconditioning in the room and the rooftop restaurant were very good. Our room facing the river with roadway in between was surprisingly quiet due to double windows. Rooftop restaurant (Les 3 Domes) was very impressive with floor to ceiling glass and impressive views of the old city, the river, and the newer city. Mid-century deluxe decor. Very good food and we enjoyed dinner there twice. Location is excellent with the luxury Intercontinental hotel and "Grand Dome" complex 1 block away. The main pedestrian shopping zone is 2 blocks away and is great for people watching and shopping. Restaurants are all around the pedestrian zone offering a wide range of choices within walking distance.We were able to spend 3 nights there while only walking. Parking isn't cheap (about Eu30 night) but the valet parking garage under the hotel is extremely convenient and safe. In summary we would certainly stay in this hotel on our next vist. It offers a near perfect balance of convenience, quality, and value.

This was the prefect stop to rest for our long France trip. The hotel was way fancier than what we expected. Perfect location! It also had a parking garage which was needed for our trip.

C'est un très bon hôtel, avec un petit-déjeuner délicieux et une vue imprenable sur Lyon. La chambre était superbe, avec toutes les commodités nécessaires... Ce qui nous a beaucoup contrariés, c'est qu'il y avait des fourmis dans notre chambre. Elles ont ensuite envahi notre valise... Lorsque je me suis plaint à la réceptionniste, elle s'est contentée de dire « Je suis désolée »... Ce n'est vraiment pas digne d'un hôtel 5 étoiles...

More of an older hotel. Needs renovation. A bit moldy in the bathroom but the common areas were well kept. You’d expect the rooms to be the same but it wasn’t the case.

Definitely not a 5 start hotel. Old and tired. Stuck in the 70s and in need of a major renovation. Bathrooms smelled badly and it was just terrible.

Honteux !!!! Scandaleux !!! d’annoncer 5 étoiles. Je n’ai jamais vécu une si mauvaise expérience, et pourtant je suis dans un hôtel différent toute les semaine pour mon activité professionnelle. On est mieux dans un 2 étoiles, trois fois moins cher. Les réceptionnistes sont gênés quand on leur fait remarquer l’état des chambres, ils nous disent avoir sans cesse des plaintes. La chambre et ses meubles doivent avoir près de 40 ans Vieille moquette, salle odeur Salle de bains salle, les joints sont noirs, la variée douche et le mitigeur du lavabo sont mal fixés. Après passage à la réception, on nous dit que seul les 3 première étages ont étés rénovés il y a 15 ans, pas les 4 autres. Parking facturé 30 euros la nuit.

We enjoyed our stay at the Sofitel. Not only was it an excellent location (in between the Rue Victor Hugo and Rue de la République and near Vieux Lyon), but the service was exceptional. The hotel is beautiful, clean, and well maintained. The icing on the cake was the turn down service. We would absolutely return!

Der Eingangsbereich ist sehr schön, aber wenn man im 4.Stock aus dem Aufzug steigt, glaubt man nicht mehr sich in einem 5 Sterne Hotel zu befinden. Das Zimmer ist eingerichtet wie in den 60er Jahren und entsprechend abgenutzt. Ein ekliger fleckiger Teppich, das Badezimmer ebenfalls alt mit ekligen Fliesenfugen und einer schlecht funktionierenden Dusche. Man zahlt eine Menge Geld und würde in jedem modernen 2 Sterne Hotel billiger und nicht schlechter wohnen. Und einen Ausschlag am Rücken habe ich als "Souvenir"mitgenommen.

The a/c did not work properly, I had to open the window for cool air but couldn’t sleep well because of the noise outside. The toilet in the bathroom had almost no space to sit, the wall was 2 inches away from my knees

Booked river view room. Room large,bathroom huge walk in shower,bed king and comfortable. Ac was built in by window, im not sure how effective it might be in summer. One comfy chair one no so much, 2 would have better. Fridge with free nibbles and softies. Nice central position in city.

Das Ambiente des Hotels zwar etwas in die Jahre gekommen aber gut und zentral gelegen. Reception bei der Ankunft eher reserviert im Gegensatz zum hilfsbereiten und freundlichen Personal der Consierge. Das Classic-Doppelzimmer war sauber und ruhig aber doch etwas zu klein für den 5 Sterne Nimbus! Vor allem der Nassbereich mit WC ist nicht mehr Standard! WC ist für nicht gerade schlanke Personen echt unmöglich wegen zu engen Platzverhältnisse. Etwas ältere Menschen oder gewichtige hätten große Probleme.

Our four day stay in Sofitel was absolutely a lovely restful experience The check in was seamless and perfect. The housekeeping five star. The overall experience was fantastic I must specifically mention Frederic who went the extra mile to assist in getting a doctor’s appointment for my Aunty and Maya who was very helpful and both made the unexpected need for treatment sorted. The hotel is situated in a central position for ease of transportation and a daily walk by the river Rhone was an added bonus . Lots of places to eat and walking distance to the Place Bellcour a massive open space surrounded by local shops and the Metro for rides to other areas in Lyon. This is a really nice hotel.

Our room wasn’t ready at check-in time. No one apologized for that. We went up to their 8th floor bar for drinks. We waited almost half an hour, no on bother to take our order. So, we just left.

Rooms are spacious, bed comfortable but the property is old and tired- service was hit and miss - air conditioning had to be fix (sweated the first night), then had to request 3 times for the removal of someone’s clothing from our room (the repairman’s perhaps) and also found the toilet seat up (did he use our bathroom?). Had to ask at reception for toilet paper as housekeeping forgot to refill. Certain areas of excellent service- the man who checked me at the front desk staff, concierge and person at downstairs bar. Excellent central location for visiting rest of Lyon and walkable to Bellacour station.

I’m glad Expedia has some good hotels on their website. This is one of them. Sofitel is in Belecour area which has a metro closed & one can get to the heart of old town- or you can walk crossing the Pont de Bonaparte over the river La Soane. The hotel could do with some updated carpets in the corridor which are worn out & shabby— which gives one a bad impression of what is to come. However the rest of the hotel is well maintained & clean. The breakfast room as a great view. The convenience to the old town is the best thing about this hotel.

This is my favorite hotel in Lyon. I have stayed there half a dozen times. Can't beat the location on the river and easy access to dining. Also, as a dog owner, I love that there is a dog park half a block away and a large green space at the end of the same block. The staff is always helpful and friendly. No need to look further, this is THE place to stay in Lyon.

Très bien situé, centre de Lyon à quelques minutes à pieds. Chambres classiques mais confortable, lit très grand et de très bonne qualité Salle de petit déjeuner avec vue sur le Rhône magnifique mais beaucoup trop petite pour le nombre de chambres = nous avons dû attendre qu'une table se libère. Mêmes si les personnels font le maximum pour remettre les tables et sont agréables, c'est pénible de patienter debout dans l'entrée Petit déjeuner en lui même correct mais sans plus pour un hôtel avec ce nombre d'étoiles
