Very cold room staff brought a heater to us and it was better. Large entrance area with bathroom off it. We liked this. Shower very hard to control very hot or very cold and changed in a second. Bed was firm. No milk for coffee. Apple juice that was free very nice. Didn’t eat breakfast as it’s €25 each. Too expensive. Loved the building handy for shops and cathedral. Parking at €18 reasonable. And secure behind a pillar entrance. Absolutely no English tv channels. Not even news one. Or any other language. Normally you get the free channels.

The disappointment was the bathroom toilet stall. A very strong urine smell was prevalent, It is obvious to me that the hotel knew about the leaky toilet, the cleaning people knew how to clean it, and temporarily reduce the urine smell but within an hour it was strong and very smelly each of the two days we stayed. But the hotel rented us the room when there were other alternatives. We stayed in a Mgallery hotel in Paris (Boutet) and were impressed enough to try the Mgallery hotel in Metz, so disappointing. We will be very hesitant to to stay at another hotel Mgallery hotel again…

Hotel appears to be attractive, but screwed up a lot of stuff. They apparently didn't account for our reservation and had to search for a room of the right class that was available for 2 days. They didn't follow up on our request for a dinner reservation for the first evening. Desk staff friendly and helpful. Room large enough (as promised), but cheaply and sparsely furnished. View is limited (but nice) because windows are about 5' up, so to see a view, you need to peer over the window sill. No built in lighting fixtures- just a torchiere lamp, with a sliding dimmer. Internet seems okay, except at 7pm, when bandwidth seemed saturated. Thermostat only decorative - front desk adjusted room temp. Plumbing a problem - sink drains very slowly, poor toilet flush, room not cleaned properly. Breakfast buffet had issues - weak coffee, some dirty dishes, cold bacon (and limited amount). Hotel restaurant was excellent for dinner - perhaps the best meal I've had in France so far on this trip. Location reasonably good. Got (limited) parking out front. Overall, building is nice enough and location is good enough, but there are obviously management issues.
