A beautiful old building but the rooms and grounds are in need of a deep clean and update. We needed a bigger room for our baby and were switched to a family room without hassle - the staff were all lovely and helpful. It’s just a shame everywhere seems so shabby.

We only stayed for one night, the hotel looked a bit tired when we arrived, and the room could do with updating. However, what an experience we had. David on reception was so helpful and pleasant to us, Barthelenie was really helpful at the bar, but Lola went beyond the normal to make our evening enjoyable, she even invited the chief to come and say hello when we complemented him for the great food. The cover of the book definitely did not reflect the quality of its content. Thank you to you all for a fabulous stay.

The hotel is set in lovely countryside and the building has great character. There is plenty of parking available too. The hotel is situated next to a golf course for those who enjoy the game. Our room was clean and nicely decorated although the air conditioning unit was inefficient. The hotel has its own indoor pool which is welcome when you have travelled a long way in high temperatures. I was contacted by the hotel prior to our arrival saying that guests must bring their own towels to use the pool! However, when we arrived, we were told that we could use our room towels. Other messages from the hotel asked if we wanted breakfast and an evening meal. We informed them that we did and reserved a time of 7.30pm for the meal. Despite replying, they did not know that we had requested breakfast or the meal. Luckily, they could still fit us in. Communications are not reliable!! If they are going to send out messages, they need to read the replies! The evening meal was excellent. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. However, breakfast was normal, ‘run of the mill’ and we were bombarded by wasps. More should be done to protect the food from them as eating breakfast was not fun. Finally, there was some difference between the original price we were quoted by Hotel.com and what we were charged on leaving the hotel. My print out clearly said one price for the room and they had another. Very annoying.

I paid for an 'upgraded' room. Staff very brusque and I was handed key and told room was not in Manoir but in another building 200 yards away. This building had birds nests and droppings all over entrance. We had to climb 2 flights of stairs to a lofted room that had 2 extra befs in the loft and a small A/C unit incapable of cooling such a room in 37 degree heat. I handed back they key and was refused either a refund or change of room A nightmare experience!
