Upon check in I was completely miffed. Reception informed me I had not selected an air conditioned room but if I wanted one I could pay 20euros more a night. I declined this extortion and let them know that I had never been given a choice on the Hotels.com platform. Given that temps were in the 90s and then 100 I had booked the hotel thinking it was a step up from the cheaper Ibis Budget Hotel in Vigies that I had stayed in during the prior canicule and for almost half the price I had blissful central air. The fan in the room did nothing and I was constantly taking cold showers in the night to ward off heat stroke. The hotel advertised sauna facilities and in essence my room was a glorified dry sauna. Fortunately they provide access to a Culligan water unit so I was religiously filling up carafes on the basement level and taking the elevator to my room in a desperate attempt to stay hydrated. On a good note after three days I checked out and went to a cheaper hotel in the city that had air conditioning. The staff contacted me after I departed to let me know I had left a credit card in the room so even though I have no idea how that happened I appreciate that they reached out. I was in such a daze from the heat in the room that anything is possible. I’m really thankful I was able to survive especially given my preexisting heart condition. Once I checked into the new hotel I took a cold shower and slept in the air confirmed room. I was finally out of the damn sauna

The rooms were dirty and there was no clean towels. The personel wasn’t helpful and when we checked out they told us we have new renovated rooms, but this is not understood when you book the rooms. I wouldn’t recommend the hotel to anyone.

Bare minimum. A big minus was the lack of air conditioner in the room with 35 degrees outside. Only thing available was a small fan that barely functioned
