Grand Hotel Bellevue - Grand Place

Situé au cœur du vieux Lille, l’hôtel est le seul à offrir des chambres donnant sur la Grand Place. Accueil chaleureux et chambres spacieuses et bien décorées mais mal insonorisées. L’hôtel ne mérite pas ses 4 étoiles : en 4 jours, 3 pannes d’ascenseur dont la dernière non solutionnée, nous a obligés à devoir descendre nos bagages par les escaliers du 4ème étage… pas de chauffage dans les parties communes obligeant les portes coupe-feu à être fermées pour lutter contre le froid, une passe d’électricité totale a notre étage un après-midi. La cerise sur le gâteau restant la salle de petit-déjeuner ridiculement petite pour la capacité de l’hôtel. Un personnel dépassé et un buffet peu ou pas approvisionné. Notre séjour reste très décevant ! Located in the heart of Lille's old town, the hotel is the only one to offer rooms overlooking the Grand Place. A warm welcome and spacious, well-decorated rooms, but poor soundproofing. The hotel doesn't deserve its 4 stars: in 4 days, 3 lift breakdowns, the last of which wasn’t solved, forcing us to take our luggage down the stairs from the 4th floor... no heating in the communal areas, forcing the fire doors to be closed to combat the cold, and no electricity at all on our floor one afternoon. The icing on the cake was the ridiculously small breakfast room for the hotel's capacity. Overworked staff and a buffet with little or no food. Our stay was very disappointing!

Central location. Hotel doesn’t provide parking, but secure public parking just few steps away.

Room Clean Size ok Wardroom could not have been smaller. Staff all were very good and helpful when needed Location wow could not have been more central to centre of Lille. Would have been better with a bar downstairs Roof top bar brilliant 55 euro for a bottle of wine very good but over priced still had two bottles 3-4 minutes from Rihour metro We normally stay at the Barriere 5 star hotel Lille but wanted to be closer to the centre of Lille. We still had a brilliant stay. Will stop again Thanks David

Overall the stay was good, nothing special, best thing is the location to the center if that’s what you’re looking for, then it’s worth a stay. Rooftop bar was booked for private group what was disappointing, since it was one of the reasons I selected the hotel. Carpets in room and halls looks very worn, but clean.

Hotellet ligger lige op til den centrale plads i byen. Det er et flot gammelt hotel, der er sat pænt i stand. Rooftopbaren er bestemt et besøg og morgenmaden er fin. Hotellet har en aftale med et af de lokale parkeringshuse, men det fortalte de bare først ved checkin, hvor vi havde parkeret og når man har fået en parkeringsplads centralt, så flytter men ikke bilen. Parkeringspladserne err som i de fleste franske byer til små biler.

Location and staff were excellent. Rooftop bar with beer, cocktails and local snacks wonderful. Room comfortable and quiet. Unfortunately AC was not working during our overly warm stay.

The front door was locked upon arrival. No one at reception. We knocked and waited. Finally an employee came, called and door unlocked. Rather scary for women in street. Third floor halls rugs had stains, dirty neglected. Safe in room didn’t work. Oder in room. Stain on bathroom ceiling and water on floor by toilet. We requested refund. Could not get an employee to help. Unsatisfactory. Do not understand why it is rated a 9.

The room was lovely with its balcony overlooking the town square. The staff were amazing , so courteous and welcoming. Breakfast was a buffet in the dining room which was presented lovely. Hotel very elegant. There is no restaurant at hotel for lunch or dinner. The only bar is the roof top bar which is not open every day. We were given a voucher with this booking for a free drink each ( there were 8 of us ) but couldnt use the voucher because the bar wasn’t open.

A great location in the centre of Lille. We had 3 rooms and all were spacious but the ground floor one was rather dark. The roof terrace gives a great view of the centre. We didn't eat in the hotel but the restaurant area looked nice. Would stay there again

Excelente hotel ubicado sobre la Grand place. El diseño clásico le daba un toque bello. Eso sí, me habría gustado que se indicara desde que se reserva que la terraza (la cual es su gran atractivo que te venden y la razón principal por la que elegí este hotel sobre otras opciones) está cerrada los domingos y lunes.

Good location, room clean and comfortable. Good selection of breakfast. Staff all seemed nice and friendly would stay here again.

Hotel was lovely on the face of it. Very welcoming staff at check in. Beautifully clean. Bit of building work going on but the room was very cold and the thermostat did not work Also the bed was not completely clean. There was a smell of perfume ( not mine ) once you were under the duvet but I ignored and thought it was my imagination BUT on waking this morning there was lipstick on the underside of the du et cover that was agin not mine. Don’t believe the bed had been slept in but maybe someone had taken a rest in it Reported on check out and apart from a cursory apology , employee did not seem overly concerned

We only stayed one night but we loved this hotel. Location is ideal, roof terrace was fabulous, staff super friendly, water filter on each floor really appreciated, room nicely decorated and beds comfortable, good breakfast. Only downer was the bad smell of drains in the room :-( a real shame as everything else was perfect.

Catastrophique, télé qui ne fonctionne pas, jours sous la fenêtre de la chambre laissant passé l’aire froid et le bruit de la grande place, des cheveux et poile dans la salle de bain. Aucune solution propose par l’hôtel j’ai dû demander moi même au bout de 1h sans nouvelle pour éventuellement changer de chambre, proposition d’une chambre bien en dessous du standing de celle réservé au à un surclassement ou geste commercial. Très loins d’un niveau d’un 4 étoiles

Ik overnachte 1 nacht in het hotel ifv een shoptrip. De ligging is ideaal: in het centrum en parking in de buurt. We merkten bij aankomst dat de kamer niet goed gepoetst was: haartjes in de badkamer, veel stof etc. Dit verwacht ik niet in een 4-sterrenhotel… Bedden lagen comfortabel. Van het ontbijt hadden we meer verwacht: eitjes/spek en bonen lagen er duidelijk al een tijdje en waren koud (net zoals de pannenkoeken). Er kan duidelijk nog veel beter zeker ifv van de (dure) prijs.

Excellent hotel location. Extremely helpful staff. Very clean with excellent amenities. Comfortable bed, great shower. Lovely rooftop bar.

We only stayed one night. The reception was the best about this hotel. They were so friendly and lovely people. However, the carpets in the hallways and the fabric chair in our room had huge multiple stains all over them. Our view out our window was an interior view of a roof and HVAC system, which was fine, knowing we were only there for 1 night and that it would be quiet. The hotel was in a great location, but would have paid more for a nicer/cleaner room with view if it would have been offered. I did not complain or ask for a room change. It was our first night in France traveling from the US.

Excellent breakfast, nice reception area. Rooftop bar is superb. Room was a little tired and dark, en-suite new and spotless. Not much wardrobe storage but overall room was fine. Location is perfect for the city centre. A great stay would definitely stay again.

The hotel is ideally located overlooking Lille’s Grand place (Place General de Gaulle). Staff are friendly and helpful. The sleeping arrangement consisted of two beds pushed together plus one sofa bed. Both were comfortable. Negative points: dirty marks on the duvet cover, had to request a replacement as no alternative room available. Duvet cover changed. Main bugbear was the toilet. It was located in a cupboard/boxed in alcove! No facility to wash or even disinfect hands. Hand washing had to be done in the bathroom which involved opening and closing three doors. Not hygienic. Spacious room but definitely needs to be rearranged. Breakfast reasonable but not sure it was worth €18.

Hotel was okay. The Cafe Bar was never open although stated on hotel site. Room AC didn't work (room 306) so had to open windows - this meant mosquitos could share our room so a few bites and blood were given away free (this was in October). We didn't take breakfast and ate out for breakfast. All in all a good hotel with some niggles. Great location if you like shopping (my partner does).

Hotel tres bien localisé (dans le centre de Lille), très beau bâtiment mais probablement tres vieux aussi et donc mal isolé. A moins d'être au dernier étage on entend tout ! L'eau s'écouleraient pedant un douche, les pas au dessus, les voisin d'à coté... et globalement l'hôtel est encore dans son jus. Pas tres moderne !

Our classique room faced the staircases so it was dark but it was spacious and quiet. Bathroom was clean and decent sized. Excellent location, close to all the attractions and public transport. Aircon in the room wasn't effective and it was more like a fan so the room was warm and stuffy. The room would be unpleasant during summer. All staff we came across were friendly and helpful. Rooftop bar was excellent with the best view in Lille. Other than the aircon issue, this is a great hotel.

The room was poorly thought out. There was nowhere to put anything - no shelves had the only bedside cabinet had the safe in it. The wardrobe was a box that he been placed on the wall making it difficult to enter the bathroom. It was almost impossible to hang anything in it and only fit our 2 dots. To access the safe you needed to lay on the floor. Despite all that…the location is excellent as it is the only hotel right in the square and the staff were very helpful and friendly. It seemed a popular hotel but the room we had was more for 1-2 nights than a longer stay.

In the heart of Lille . Well maintained property and easy access to public transportation. The staff was friendly and a shout out to the young lady at the front desk Asia she went up above and beyond to welcome us . Gave us the city map and she explained to us the site we must visit and the places we could dine based on our preferences. Thank you Asia for your hospitality and support during our stay .

Tout était très bien. J’ai eu un problème de chauffage dans ma chambre qui ne fonctionnait pas. Estelle (à l’accueil) m’a déplacé dans une autre chambre illico et en plus avec la meilleure vue de l’hôtel ! Je n’ai pas pris de petit-déjeuner car je suis sous diète spéciale. Djemila (le personnel du restaurant) m’a donné tous les matins des oeufs durs avec du pain sans gluten. Le personnel est d’une gentillesse exceptionnelle. Merci !

Lady at check-in very helpful and friendly. Gave us excellent restaurant advice. Room overlooking Grande Place was outstanding. Great breakfast. Such a welcome change from shabby rip-off places in Amsterdam.

Je suis arrivé le mardi et jusqu’à mon départ le vendredi j’ai réclamé un fer a repasser que je n’ai jamais eu. On m’a clairement fait entendre que des groupes de touristes ont monopolisés plus de 25 fers à repasser, et en aucun cas je n’ai pu avoir ce service, pourtant les femmes de ménage passent tous les jours dans les chambres. C’est vraiment un manque de considération et de professionnalisme!

The Belle Vue is beautifully positioned overlooking the main square right in the centre of town. It’s beautifully renovated, combining the old with the new in a very modern and tasteful way. It was comfortable and staff were professional, helpful and polite. A thoroughly pleasant stay! Would recommend.

Welcoming and friendly staff. Our room was large, beautifully cleaned and suited all our needs. Loved the roof top bar, great experience. Location great, on top of all the shops, restaurants. Would definitely return.

This hotel has a great location and the view from our room was beautiful. Multiple great restaurants within walking distance too. Highly recommend it!

Very nice location smack in the middle of the city. The car can be parked underground in a public parking about 200m from the hotel. Everything is basically walking distance. There are so many restaurants and wine bars in the surrounding area and shopping options are plenty as well. It is perfect for a weekend away or just a convenient overnight trip. The rooms are clean and cosy, the bathroom is well quipped and high quality towels are provided as well. Highly recommend this hotel and will surely stay there again for our next visit!

Déco tres agreable, isolation phonique des portes legère, excellent petit déjeuner. Idéalement situé. Personnel agreable et aidant. Je recommande vivement.

Hôtel 4 étoiles très agréable, localisation, accueil, taille des chambres , décoration soignée …..le point faible serait le petit déjeuner, la salle n’est pas à la hauteur du reste, nous avons l’impression d’être un peu dans une cantine d’entreprise,pas chaleureux !!! Le buffet est approvisionné mais avec de l’attente .dommage, nous sommes dans un 4 etoiles

Hotel in a good location, unfortunately the service, apart from the front desk, left a lot to be desired. Room only half cleaned, breakfast room to small so everyone was squashed in and food constantly running out. The rooftop bar looked good but the cocktails and staff were not. And the constant smell of drains and sewers did not help. Overall the lack of management and training seemed to be the main problem.

Hotel cher mais bien situé. La chambre était spacieuse Gros bémol sur le petit déjeuner ! Ne vaut clairement pas 18€ pour des produits industriels avec peu de choix !

Très bel hôtel idéalement situé sur la Grand Place. Personnel accueillant et très à l'écoute. Le petit-déjeuner est délicieux, servi dans un salon confortable et assuré par une équipe aux petits soins. Le bar sur le toit terrasse est chaleureux à l'image de son personnel qui vous concocte de magnifiques créations. Un grand merci à toute l'équipe pour ce magnifique séjour.
