Mornington Hotel London Victoria

I had a very nice stay. The area is quite and in walking distance to Victoria Station. I didn’t eat at the hotel. Only problem is alot of stairs.

Staff was very helpful. Rooms were a little small with having to put our bags on the floor. There were no towel racks, so our towels never really dried. There is no elevator, which we were informed of prior to being put on the 4th floor. Note the 4th floor is actually the 5th floor and up 7 flights of stairs (75 steps). We just considered it part of our fitness program.

Very clean and well maintained. Shower was hot almost instantly when turned on. Very well-trained and friendly staff. Would have been 5 stars if there had been a lift.

Beautiful street; Building converted from flats or apartments, so inside is ultra modern for those that like that. Rooms are tiny but clean and quiet, except when other guests are inconsiderate. I had a nice stay and slept well. These supposedly energy saving UK upgrades to electricity and tech should require multiple adapters US;UK;EU in room. Still need adapters when traveling. Big drawback is no lift. No Lift!

Clean well maintained but basic, with no lounge or breakfast facility. Very small rooms. No hair dryer in the room and front desk could not provide one. As for many hotels in London expensive for what you get.

The property is close to some of the top tourist attractions in London. Very walkable from this location. The rooms are extremely small. Not even enough room to put a suitcase on the floor. Even our room with a double bed was too small for two people. Also no elevator made moving luggage very difficult. Not a hotel I would ever stay at again.

This is a nice hotel, good location to the tube, restaurants and shopping. Rooms were nice, we were upgraded to the top floor - 87 steps and no elevator! We were good with this, but something to note if you have mobility issues.

The rate was good. The room was decent, but, it’s a bit misleading the way it’s presented in pictures because once you enter the room you discover that the room is very small and not much room for luggage, or hanging clothes, no bar fridge or microwave. As well, I have a bad hip and knees and we had to lug our luggage up four or five flights of stairs. I’m sure they could have put us on a lower level or ground level. For London though, it was adequate .

Staff was very nice - Please note there is no elevator - so rooms at top floor are hard to access with heavy bags. Beds were very comfortable!

This is a lovely place to stay but the room I had 304 could do with a few tweeks. It was a very small room but an example there is no mirror near a socket to allow for hair to be done. This could be easily rectified. The refreshments provided were good but the unit could not be used without moving as the lead was too short. Oh and as the building is old there is no lift this needs to be clearer on your site in case someone has mobility issues.

The hotel in question cancelled our booking at 8pm the day we were due to check and moved us to 'Mornington Hotel London Victor Belgravia'. I was then told, despite being moved to a whole new hotel, I could not get a refund. We then went to the Mornington Victoria and was asked to present a physical card for a 'security deposit'. I then asked what the deposit was for, of which the reply was ' a deposit for the security'. That didn't clarify a lot... It was obviously a newly refburshed, modern hotel. The rooms were very well decorated with a large bed and TV. However, I don't know how it's possible to be a modern hotel and NOT HAVE A MATRESS PROTECTOR. The mattress had a 4 inch think layer of yellow foam lay on top and the mattress itself was severely stained. Not having a mattress protector is disgusting and put a shadow over the whole trip. Would love to come back as we're regularly in London but feel worried staying in a hotel that doesn't use mattress protectors as standard.

The rooms are very small. Only enough room to just manoeuvre around the bed and have suitcases standing. There was a lot of mould in the shower as the fan wasn’t working. Let front desk know. The reception area was clean and smelt clean. Staff were supportive with holding our suitcases before we could check in.

We were moved to a different room due to noisy neighbors. The first room we had for the first three nights was also very dusty. Only one person could get out of bed at a time because it was pushed up against a wall. The second room we had for our final night was much bigger. Both rooms had cobwebs hanging from the ceilings, but they weren’t close to where we slept, so it didn’t bother us.

The staff were all lovely, and very kindly agreed a late checkout to take a zoom meeting, but then this wasnt communicated to other staff who kept knocking and calling while I was trying to have an important call. The room was small but v clean and comfortable - it did get very hot but I was able to open the window so all was fine

We stayed at the Mornington Hotel for 2 nights during a recent trip to london. This was the first time we had stayed there and we were very pleased with our stay. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room (although small) was clean, modern, very comfortable and had everything we needed for a two night stay in london. Location was very handy also. Would happily stay here again!

The pictures look lovely and the hotel has obviously done some cosmetic work to the rooms. The bathroom was small, but clean and the shower had lots of hot water and pressure. Would have been nice to a have a shelf to put things on. The rest of the room, while did have some new tile/wall work, was so small and they should have spent money on new bedding and carpets. Our bedding had holes in from being worn through and the carpet was dingy. There was also zero space to put our suitcases or unpack clothes. The drawers under the bed were off their tracks and had obviously not been cleaned in ages. Full or crumbs, dust and skin flakes. Not a place I would stay again or recommend.

Room not cleaned everyday. No air condition working. Lied to when it would be repaired. Had to buy a fan ourself.

Positives - spotless room - clean towels provided, shower gel/shampoo etc - great air conditioning - staff polite, friendly and helpful - shower was great - bed was comfortable - iron and ironing board were available in the room which was really useful Negatives - room was quite small (in fairness the dimensions were stated in the room description but I just wasn’t clued in enough to understand how small it really was). That being said the room was called a “superior double room” but it was anything but superior - the room description said it would include a queen sized bed. The bed was definitely not queen sized and probably just above double. - bed was pushed against the wall/window so one person had to climb over the other during the night. - window handle in bathroom was broken, which meant we couldn’t securely close window - appreciate there is very limited space, but there was no where to sit except for the bed so it meant that if you have snacks or food then you had to eat in bed - blinds do not block out daylight - there is a gap between the door and floor which let in light from the hallway at night - there are no elevators and 4 stories. It wasn’t too much of an issue for us as we are fairly young and fit but I would imagine it would be an issue for older folk - adjoining rooms aren’t soundproof, although the neighbours were not that noisy so not much of an issue

Awful, awful hotel. I was placed in room LG2, which doesn’t have a window! The rather important fact was not mentioned at the time of booking and the photo clearly shows a bright and airy window. In addition, the room stinks of damp. Avoid

Some rooms extremely small. Quite close to underground stations. Staff helpful. Clean. Bathroom very good and clean.

Location perfect for our short stay. The room was clean and nicely decorated but small so wouldn't like to stay for longer than a night. Only negative and something I wish I was aware of before booking was that we were put in one of their basement rooms. This was ok however after spending a few minutes in the room became aware that we could hear the underground trains which went past frequently. I went up to speak to the reception staff to ask if there was possibly another room we could be put in because we could hear the tube trains in the room. At this point the girl on reception flat out denied that we could hear tube trains as the nearest station was a 10 minute walk away. She suggested that she come down to the room to see what the noise could be. Whilst in the room for a few moments a tube train went past which she heard but again stated that it couldn't possibly be the tube and suggested perhaps it was the air conditioning. I realised that she wasn't going to be of any help so told her not to worry about it as we would be out most of the evening anyway. She left the room with no further assistance offered. After her suggestion I located the air conditioning controls and switched it on noting that it made no noise. I don't know why she behaved in this way and can not believe no one has ever mentioned the noise from the underground before. I'm writing this purely because it's something I wish I was aware of before booking. Otherwise a nice hotel in great location.

In the photos the rooms looked small but adequate. In reality the first room I was offered was tiny! The bed was crammed into a space under the window was small and only accessible from one side and no room even to put a bag in the room!! I asked for another room and got one slightly bigger but still tiny! The bathroom was new and nearly as big as the bedroom. It was on the 3rd floor and no lift but lots of steep stairs. No good for older people or children!! We were supposed to stay 2 nights but left after 1 due room! Would never stay again! The photos are deceptive!

The staff were great - friendly and helpful and offered a great suggestion for coffee (The Roadting) just down the street. The only issue we had was that we had booked a “Superior Twin Room,” but when we first checked in, we were assigned a room in the basement where there was no window. I don’t think that’s even legal in Canada because there’s no secondary exit if there’s a fire. I requested a different room and they were able to move us the next day. The rooms were clean and the AC works really well but they are tiny tiny. The picture shows a gap between the beds and the nightstand but in truth there isn’t any space. Despite the size, the room was comfortable.

Excellent location. Walkable distance to Victoria Station, easy path to Metro and Bus stops. About installations, they were comfy, bed and linens good bathroom, clean place, well illuminated. The room is small, really small. This is a BUDGET option. We had a room at basement AND no windows. The air conditioner was broken, and they weren't able to fix it during our stay.

Although on the small side the room was clean, well supplied with toiletries, towels, hair dryer etc. the bed was comfortable and being able to open the window was very good

Check in was terrible. 30 minutes explaining that my card was on my phone (rather than a physical card) but the employee saying that a physical card was needed (despite the fact that the 2 nights had been pre-paid). After him threatening to cancel the room with no refund, we eventually agreed I’d try to get a colleagues card later that night. As that wasn’t possible, on my return to the hotel I explained to a different member of staff and he said it was fine to use my bank card on my phone. All that drama and delay for nothing. I had a room on the LG floor which was teeny (double bed but no space around it) and had no window but everything else was fine.

Upon arrival at Victoria, the receptionist informed me that my double room had leaking air conditioning and that they had arranged another room at the sister hotel Victor. Upon arrival at Victor, the receptionist informed me that they offered me a complimentary upgrade to an executive double room, but that the room was not available until 18:30. Despite the room being executive, I did not see significant differences from the one I booked. The hotel manager offered me a complimentary night at one of their hotels in the future as compensation for the inconvenience, which I consider reasonable. The hotel is centrally located in Pimlico. The room was small and had no soundproofing. I could hear every step from the room above mine, which disrupted my sleep.

Arrived at the hotel at 3:30pm to be told the hotel was fully booked and the only room they had available was a single when I paid for a superior double room 4 weeks in advance! Then we're told they have a double room but was not ready yet when the email told us we could check in a 2pm. The guests in front of us also were unhappy as they discovered there were guests already in the room when they checked in. Disorganised and poorly run are the words I'd use. (I would like to point out that Jeffrey working front of house was nice and really tried to get the situation resolved). We ended up getting a double standard room which we settled for as we needed to stay in the area for a marathon. Obviously still upset as we paid extra for the superior room. I was told the hotel would reach out by Monday 7th April to discuss my compensation but have yet to receive this. The room we got was very tiny and compact but comfort was still okay. As long as check in doesnt get messed up I'd recommend.

Four of us (all adults) spent two nights in London and had reserved three rooms at the hotel months in advance. When we arrived, we learned that their booking service had a blip and only two of our rooms were available ... the third room (the one my boyfriend and I stayed in) was around the corner in another of their hotels (the Victor). While slightly inconvenient, it worked out okay and they were super apologetic. The room itself was comfortable, though two things didn't quite live up to our standards ... the full-sized bed was a little smaller than we are used to and didn't have a lot of support underneath the edges (we both almost slid off it a couple of times when we got too close to the edge LOL) ... and there were multiple little bugs in the shower (not harmful at all, but a little gross). To be fair, we didn't complain about either of these and didn't give the hotel a chance to do anything about them ... we were very tired from our journey and more concerned about just enjoying the city. We slept well and the location served as a good base for our adventures :)

Amazing front desk, especially Nicole. We found that many boutique hotels in London have small rooms, but with her help we were comfortable in our room.. Being close to Victoria Station made it better, especially for trains, buses, and hop-on hop- off buses,

I booked Mornington but at arrival told there are issues with room and had to go to Victor instead. I was not informed prior to arrival. The check in clerk at Mornington was friendly and apologetic and help me find second hotel. The check-in clerk then was dismissive and not had a welcoming experience. Ask for help with aircon ans he never came to room. Contrast to the check out clerk Jeffrey was vert friendly. Shower gel bottle did not work. There is light coming in underneath the door from hallway which makes me think its not fire conpliant. Road noise bir bad but overall ok. Room was small as was bathroom but it was new and well decorated and served the purpose.

We checked in at 9 pm from Canada, first the receptionist was too rude she didn’t even greet us. However we were tired and we just wanted the room, but when she told us it is in the basement we asked her to change it as per our reservation that we made a month earlier based on their advertising photos at Expedia, so she became more rude and disrespectful for no reason! We asked for manager she refused and said maybe tomorrow he will connect with you. We went to the room and The reality hits us that the room does reflect the photos in the ad or even the room description as “superior suite”! As it was like a dungeon in the basement with no windows, and you have to cross over the two beds to move to the bathroom! The toilets does has an empty toiletries the phone doesn’t work so we went back to ask her to fill it but she gave us a bottle to fill it for ourselves and asked us to return the bottle even if it’s empty! She didn’t want to collect it nor they have room service to take it! For the phone she didn’t even bother to give us an answer!…we were exhausted and went to sleep, the following day we had pre booked museums appointment and the manager didn’t call us or show as we asked for! For my fellow Canadians please be careful and don’t go there, they are horrible services and rooms doesn’t reflect any photos they have they are tiny to the extent of you can’t stand! I have been visiting London for the past 30 years and this is my worst experience ever for a hotel

The reception manager has been the highlight of the stay. Super professional and friendly.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We found shops nearby and everything in our room was as we expected.

The hotel is decent, clean, and functional, although nothing exceptional in terms of comfort or services. However, its main advantage is the location: very well situated, with easy access to public transportation, making it easy to get around and fully enjoy the stay.

Fantastic little boutique hotel in a nice quiet street. Within perfect walking distance of all the major landmarks. A perfect price from Expedia made for a great weekend away in London!

Urban district is very nice, quiet area, good connection to bus/underground, nice personnel.

Price and location fits well. There is free coffee and tea as also premium shower gels from rituals. Be aware that it’s not made for people with accessibility locations and this place focuses on short trip travelers in the budget rooms as there is no space for luggage. If you bring big suitcases they will not fit in the room. As Americans be aware that the beds are not your king or queen standards. We liked it but would recommend to

Had a room in lower ground floor, room was small with a skylight. Bathroom fairly spacious and bed was very comfortable. No facilities such as breakfast available. Good hotel if you don't plan to spend time especially working in the room, if you don't plan to spend much time there its a good comfortable stay and staff are nice

Had a nice 2 day stay while visiting London attractions after a cruise. The location was very easy to find and just a 10 min walk from either Victoria train station or Victoria Coach,(Bus) station. Which is the reason I chose this hotel. The only draw back is no breakfast but the price reflected that also. It was very easy to get some breakfast at the Victoria Train Station in the morning as it was almost empty early on. I am a very early riser and there was an electric tea kettle in the room and cookies and stuff for at least making some morning coffee. All in All it was a good deal for such a nice London tourist area location. I would stay again if ever I get back there.

Nice quiet location but within walking distance of Victoria/pimlico tube and facilities. Clean, quiet homely hotel room - compact but comfortable. Tea/coffee facilities / coffee machine would be an asset - however overall good especially given the central London location. Charming receptionist!

We stayed at this hotel to be close to the theatre’s in Victoria. We found the location to be reasonable (10 min walk from Victoria Station), staff pleasant and the room was very clean with all the room amenities you’d expect from a larger hotel chain. If I had to be negative about anything it would be the lack of dining facilities and that the bedroom was only slightly larger than what I’d expect from an Easy hotel. That said it was far more luxurious than anything Easy hotels could provide, and there is a Gail’s bakery/cafe, pubs and an epic Italian restaurant near by.

Absolutely nothing wrong with my room, immaculatly clean, bed n bedding super comfy, no noise…. They don’t do food but everything possible is just an uber eats or deliveroo/just eat away - area is nice too!

Stayed here for a few days, staff were lovely, polite and very helpful nothing seemed too big of an ask. Was able to leave our luggage in the hotel after check in which was a great facility. Super clean and modern. Rooms were small but true to advertisement so no shocks or disappointment. Close to Victoria station which was handy. Only thing I would say which could have improved our stay was access to drinks or snacks such as bottles of water as we had to go out and get our own but nothing major. Would stay again. Thank you!
