We had booked online for the Ibis Bremen Alstadt hotel, but could not find it along the street, there. This is because the building is now rebranded as a 'B&B Hotel'. We enquired at the reception and found the receptionist unfriendly, almost questioning our very presence. She improved slightly when she found our booking on her system, but was still not able to raise a smile. She informed us that the B&B Hotels business had bought the hotel three years ago. Strange, then, that the online description, internal photos, decor and layout of the reception, and description of the room and facilities were all for a hotel with a different name, Ibis, operated by a completely different business. Our room was neither as big as, or with the decor as shown in the on-line advert. It was clean, but the bed was uncomfortable and the pillows even worse. The place had been recently decorated but the corridors resembled a bland office building, with no style or pleasant aspects. Whenever we passed by reception whichever receptionist there did not acknowledge out presence, sometime not even looking up from what they were doing. We also used the car park - which is underneath the hotel. The receptionist correctly advised us to take care, as we found it to be accessed via a curving ramp of 26% incline. Entry was possible with care, but exit was extremely difficult. The severity of the slope and smooth floor paint made exiting a dangerous thing undertaken with extreme care.

Good breakfast, only one pillow pp, one loo roll the whole room of a family of 4 though. Beds OK - B&B is OK, it’s a cheap hotel. Team stop right outside and close to town.

Clean and comfortable room. Nothing special but everything I needed for one night stay. Good value with reasonable price. Nice location, walking distance to city center.
