When we booked, the pictures made this look like somewhere we would want to swim and hang out by the water. The lagoon is very murky. There's not really a beach that you would want to spend time on. When you go to check in, there's a sign saying to drive somewhere else (the Town Center) to check in. It's a bit away. The Lodge, where we were, was very outdated. It really needs a makeover. Several other guests made comments like, "bet this was booming in the 80's." The actual rooms were very nice. The bathroom and main room were updated and clean. The AC worked, although our bed did not have a blanket or comforter. I asked for one the 2nd day and they had to look for one. My wife was shivering the 1st night. Breakfast was ok. The Mexican restaurant was not good. A nearly $30 per person buffet for dinner was similar to a college cafeteria quality, although I think most colleges would do better. Nothing was very good and the drinks weren't great, either. It wasn't bad enough to leave, but for multiple hundreds a night, it certainly wasn't worth the cost. Not sure where some glowing reviews came from. Maybe we're just used to Hilton resort quality.
