Nice room and friendly welcome. Unfortunately zero soundproofing between room 4 and restaurant downstairs. I could hear music and chat so unable to get an early night. It is an old building and very pretty so I guess that comes with the territory.

Very nice place, great location, we had room by the road at the front so it was quite noisy but its an old building so this has to be expected. There is no breakfast and the restaurant was open until about 10:30. As long as you know about this its a great place. Ive stayed in a several places in Winchester and so far this was the best.

This is a smart Japanese restaurant that has rooms above. Pros: the accommodation is very nice - our room was spacious, well maintained, beautifully decorated and warm, despite the single glazed window (due to being in Conservation Area probably). Really great location near High Street, 10 minutes walk from the Cathedral. Cons: as above, the window means noise from outside. Don't offer breakfast. Overall, recommended.

5 minutes walk to Winchester High Street. Surprisingly quiet and comfortable for such a central location. Paid (reasonable) covered car park 2 minutes away. I would surely stay here again.

Good location and nice big room, tastefully decorated. However, rather than being a hotel with a restaurant it is really a restaurant with a few rooms to let above. So not actually a full service hotel. My room was right over a roundabout so quite a lot of traffic noise. The liquid soap bottle in the shower was empty - not very convenient when you're wet before you realise. Worst of all, the wi-fi signal was very weak - maybe because it is an old building with thick walls. It kept dropping out and at times could not be detected at all. If I stood up in the middle of the room with my device I eventually found I could usually access it, but not very convenient. Given the necessity of good connectivity for travel these days, that really is not good enough. So, it is a place with good potential but they really need to do better.

Lovely surprise! Our room was large, comfortable, and the decor was beautiful -- the photos do not do it justice. The location is perfect, right at the bottom of high street next to several historic sites and within easy walking distance of everything one would want to see in Winchester. The Japanese restaurant is fantastic. Make reservations as soon as you check in as it is not to be missed.

Great location, very central for shops, Room was lovely and clean visited end of November, room was lovely and warm, comfy bed, great price, staff polite and friendly. Will definitely visit again. Winchester is lovely place. This was my first time visiting this area plenty to see and do.

If you're ever in Winchester, this is the place to stay and the Japanese restaurant is just amazing! the rooms are clean, fantastic toiletries and a great welcome.

My room was exceptional. Beautiful and tastefully decorated with lovely Japanese prints. The room was huge! with lovely chairs and a very very comfortable bed. A very high quality coffee machine. Lovely clean bathroom with an excellent shower. I cannot fault this place. Exceptional value for money. Thank you for a lovely stay.

lovely location perfect for shops, very cozy room and staff friendly enough. the only down side was the terribly slow to non existent wi-fi, make sure you stay on 4g to avoid the frustration!! also there was a nice table lamp that had a 2 pin plug on that had no socket to put in..the promised help with this never arrived, overall though a delightful little hotel and will definitely stay again.

Had another great stay at Kyoto Rooms. Very good value for money and staff waited for me when I had to do a late check in - thank you! The room was gorgeous and very comfortable. Only downside is that the busy road outside can be noisy in the morning if you’re a light sleeper.

Great, central location in Winchester with restaurants all around within 1-2 minutes walk. Great coffee machine, comfortable bedding and friendly and helpful staff. I also loved the addition of Monacle by reception! Great taste!

Great location, very central for shops, Room was lovely and clean visited end of November, room was lovely and warm, comfy bed, great price, staff polite and friendly. Will definitely visit again. Winchester is lovely place. This was my first time visiting this area plenty to see and do.

5 minutes walk to Winchester High Street. Surprisingly quiet and comfortable for such a central location. Paid (reasonable) covered car park 2 minutes away. I would surely stay here again.

Great, central location in Winchester with restaurants all around within 1-2 minutes walk. Great coffee machine, comfortable bedding and friendly and helpful staff. I also loved the addition of Monacle by reception! Great taste!

Lovely surprise! Our room was large, comfortable, and the decor was beautiful -- the photos do not do it justice. The location is perfect, right at the bottom of high street next to several historic sites and within easy walking distance of everything one would want to see in Winchester. The Japanese restaurant is fantastic. Make reservations as soon as you check in as it is not to be missed.

the room was very clean and spacious, lovely rain shower. check in was easy in the restaurant below and the staff were really helpful. there is a separate door for guests in the rooms so you can let yourself in at any time of day/night. a small outdoor space. car park very close by and reasonably priced. no charge on Sunday. very convenient for walking into town. would definitely stat again if i return to Winchester, which is a fabulous historic town

Nice room and friendly welcome. Unfortunately zero soundproofing between room 4 and restaurant downstairs. I could hear music and chat so unable to get an early night. It is an old building and very pretty so I guess that comes with the territory.

Very nice place, great location, we had room by the road at the front so it was quite noisy but its an old building so this has to be expected. There is no breakfast and the restaurant was open until about 10:30. As long as you know about this its a great place. Ive stayed in a several places in Winchester and so far this was the best.

This is a smart Japanese restaurant that has rooms above. Pros: the accommodation is very nice - our room was spacious, well maintained, beautifully decorated and warm, despite the single glazed window (due to being in Conservation Area probably). Really great location near High Street, 10 minutes walk from the Cathedral. Cons: as above, the window means noise from outside. Don't offer breakfast. Overall, recommended.

Nice hotel but very noisy bottles being collected by binmen at 5am in the morning and again later on! i wouldn't stay here again mainly for that reason, also there are no breakfasts available here, despite it operating as a restaurant in the evenings

Fantastic value in the heart of the city. Multi story car park 5 mins walk (£7.50 24 hours), large comfortable room. No breakfast but multiple cafes within 10 mins walk. Some road noise if windows open so bring earplugs if staying in summer (rooms not facing the road may not have the issue). Would stay again.

Good staff greeting and very helpful when checking in and when met by problems. 1st room- TV signal v.poor/dirty bed runner 2nd room- I asked to be moved due to no avail signal and as I was travelling alone I wanted to chill in room. Poor noise control- windows not double glazed but due to it being an old building I was unsure whether it allowed. The traffic noise and pub next door were loud- thsnk g9d for ear plugs!! For this reason couldn't open windows so v.hot with no fan. Overall a good nice room and good placed for town.

Comfortable bed. Choice of pillows. Secondary glazing didn’t seal so room 1 was very noisy and we struggled to sleep. The hotel is on a busy roundabout. Coffee machine good. No kettle for tea?! Room Spacious and 2 comfortable chairs. No net curtains so you had to pull the blind for privacy. Staff nice.
