The Pathmaker Hotel

It is amazing. The room is big, clean, and quite. Breakfast and afternoo tea are good! Have a beautiful dinning hall where you can eat, drink, and read. There is a under-building parking lot, and you can park easily.

Loved that it had a parking garage! It was easy and accessible. The hotel was BEAUTIFUL. The dining was FABULOUS. Cant wait to go back

Lobby is too small.

This hotel was amazing! The room was picture perfect with all the essentials and luxurious features! Parking under the hotel was an excellent addition given the weather that I encountered.

Stayed here for 2 nights to hike in Acadia. The room was very clean and spacious, they opened about a year ago and still smells new. Staff was really friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Breakfast at the restaurant was included, numerous choices, and all of it was amazing! Within walking distance for everywhere we went within Bar Harbor. Grocery store right across the street and Walgreens right down the street, parking included. Would definitely stay here again!

This is a new property. The rooms are sized generously. Parking is either below the building or across the street. The location is great with restaurants and coffee shops across the street. We had a very comfortable stay and would definitely stay here again.

Great boutique hotel w/good parking and very walkable to shopping, dining and waterfront activities. The included breakfast was excellent and artfully presented! 24 hour coffee bar and warm cookies after 2pm were a nice option.

Overall a great stay! They are brand new, so they’re still finding their way but doing a good job. Friendly staff and clean rooms. Good location for walking everywhere. Free parking is also great, although the garage is tight if you have an SUV or truck. The restaurant needs some help- staff and food is so-so, but with so many places to eat in Bar Harbor, that doesn’t matter. I would stay here again! Try the blueberry coffee they have at the front, you won’t regret it!

The hotel was exceptional. The room was elegant, new and smelled wonderful. All the little touches made extra special ie: cookies in the afternoon, amazing five star breakfast, and amazing local soap that smelled amazing. The front desk were very helpful and friendly. Loved self parking underground. Walking distance from the town.

I wanted to love this property-great location, new, reasonably priced, includes breakfast and it has a parking garage! It seems to still be in its ‘shake down’ phase as a new hotel…service was spotty and breakfast was trying hard to be creative but wasn’t great. Basic room and amenities. Poor choice for hall and elevator carpeting - although only months old, its light color showed all the dirt and stains… Pathmaker tries hard and I’ll try them again in the future, once their systems are in place.

Very clean rooms and public areas, great location with free parking, great breakfast, 24h tea and coffee station. This place looks brand new and feels way above its 2star rating.

Cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in.

Easy to get to. Check-in quick. Dean at the desk was so friendly, gave helpful suggestions on what to do and eat. The hotel is new, very clean, pricey. Room beautiful exactly like their pictures. The bed was so comfortable. Breakfast included. About 6 choices of dishes to pick from. We tried 4, different each morning, all were excellent! Food is fancier than your use to if your picky. Plenty of parking. Location is excellent! Our street is full of restaurants, shops, bike/kayak rentals so convenient. Just takes a couple minutes to walk to the end and be on Main St. This end of Main has more restaurants, shops, the harbor is right there. Can't beat the location! Two negatives: The building is on the street. Windows are not at all sound proof. You hear every vehicle and people talking as they walk by. Our room was 3 stories up, their top floor. At night it is worse when sound is magnified. Only put out the sign to have our room serviced once (4-night stay). Nothing was even done! The bed was definitely not changed since it wasn't even made. We only got new towels because I left all our used ones on the floor. Didn't realize a little sand stayed on our shoes after walking back from the land bridge to bar island. It got on the bathroom floor and the room of course was not vacuumed. We did ask at the desk if this was the norm they said they would inform management. We would definitely stay here again the location, great room and friendly staff is what was most important to us.

Absolutely spectacular place! This was a great find. Very clean, new, and well designed! Friendly staff, walk to every place you want to see in Bat Harbor. Easy and free parking on-property. Will try to book this place every trip back.

Incredibly clean and comfy room.

Very convenient to great restaurants and shopping. Breakfast included is fantastic with many great options. Room unfortunately was very noisy. Noise from street as well as lobby as we had a ground floor room. Would not book this same accommodation again.

Got one night at the last minute for a Wednesday night stay at a great rate (included breakfast and parking). The room I got was larger than a suite at most hotels and everything was new, probably because the hotel is less than a year old. What that means is the staff go out of their way to make your stay easy. Probably the best overall attitude I’ve experienced in a long time. Hotel is just far enough away from the tourist district to be quiet, while still being only a 5m walk there. I wish I’d tried the hotel restaurant for dinners after what I had for breakfast, but can’t be clairvoyant.

Honestly for what I paid this hotel was worth it. Breakfast included at restaurant in lobby and was great. Clean and new hotel. Only small complaint I have is the walls are thin and I can hear all the tipsy old people outside my door in the middle of the night.

Love the room, perfect for our family of 3. Loved the bedside lamps, and size of the room. Beds were very comfortable and loved the bathroom toiletries.

Brandnew Hotel in Bar Harbor with all most modern amenities and thoroughly styled. We were staying for 3 nights with 2 standard king rooms booked on ground floor and got an upgrade to 3rd floor for a huge corner room for the parents and an adjacent big room for our kids. The breakfasts were awesome, not the usual hustle and bustle of a buffet, but a choice of either hearty or sweet breakfasts were served on porcelain at our table with cutlery and cloth serviettes, along with a choice of orange juice and coffees or teas and fruits. Also the afternoon tea and cookie hour was a very nice asset. Thank you for a very enjoyable stay between the year end's holidays.

Spacious and comfortable room. Wonderful bedding and pillows. Delicious breakfast! Convenient in town location with parking.

Shower water temperature fluctuated a lot. You could hear a lot of the street noise and AC device in the room was pretty loud.

Everything was excellent, except for the location of our room. We loved being able to walk everywhere, including about two blocks to the the Harbor Land Bridge. Having free covered parking was a bonus. The complementary breakfasts were tasty. The staff was friendly and courteous. The room was very comfortable. We didn’t get to take advantage of it, but they also have a cocktail/music event each evening at their sister facility around the corner, which looked really fun. If you are a light sleeper, though, ask for a room on the back side of the hotel. We were in room 103, which is close to the lobby and on the front of the building, a sidewalk distance away from the street. The street sweepers come by twice every morning at about 4am. The delivery person arrives at about 6am, and we heard that person loading every bottle into the refrigerator. The street is fairly busy even late at night, and having a grocery store across the street doesn’t help. Motorcycles sat outside our window, idling. And, people would stand next to our window and talk (even very late), and we could every word of their conversation. Despite our room location, we would definitely recommend The Pathmaker to others!

Check in was very nice. The girl at the front desk was awesome! Parking was right underneath the hotel which made it very nice. I would not give the restaurant five stars for dinner. Menu was OK. Service was just OK. Tiramisu came frozen. Breakfast gets five stars. Breakfast is included with the room and it is a full menu with servers. Very nice!

Every staff person we encountered was not only nice, but went above and beyond the scope of their role. Check in was seamless. Breakfast options were great. Food was good for a hotel breakfast. Extra touches like cookies in the afternoon, hot tea and coffee available all day were appreciated. The beds were incredibly comfortable and our room was spacious. The room and entire facility was clean.

It was a few blocks walk from the main streets which was a great location. Staff was exceedingly helpful. Mackenzie spent a great deal of time with us planning our day at Acadia Park. The breakfast frittata was great - had it twice.

BUYER BEWARE! Bait-and-switch may occur. We booked 4 nights and were excited to stay at a “new” property. The day before we flew out they called and said they weren’t able to have guests and they booked us at a “sister property”. The sister property was 30 years old and probably hadn’t been updated in 30 years. Smelled bad. Everything was outdated. Spiderwebs and spiders covered the patio. I called the manager who bait-and-switched us at least 6 times over 4 days to try and get some help or some answers. She never answered the phone. We were S.O.L.!!! The whole trip became full of stress and disappointment. Their solution for switching our reservation was a small discount. Then, when I got Hotels.com to attempt a refund, the owners of The Pathmaker were “unavailable” so there was nothing Hotels.com could do. Terrible experience!

We loved this property and extended our stay because we loved it so much! Front desk staff was amazing!!!!

We never got to actually stay here because the hotel wasn’t open for our reservation dates. They moved our reservation to a sister hotel which I plan to give a wonderful review to; however, the management of the Pathmaker hotel has a lot of work to do when they do finally get their elevator inspected and are able to open. They didn’t inform me of the change in reservation. I only found out because I came across another persons review ~3 weeks before our stay, and when I called the Pathmaker to inquire they were pretty unconcerned/unapologetic and said that we would be housed at a sister hotel.

We had a great stay. Wonderful location, easy parking, great (free) made to order breakfast, friendly reception. Really could not ask for more if you want to be walkable to shops, restaurants in BH. Acadia entrance is very convenient as well.

The Pathnaker hotel was such a cute and fun place to stay in Bar Harbor, Maine. Located within walking distance of downtown and the harbor. Lots of resturants and shops nearby. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The ropm was beautiful, comfortable, and updated. We would definitely stay here again

This is a great hotel right in the downtown of bar harbor. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, bed was comfortable, room was good sized. Easily walkable to all of downtown activity and only a very short drive to Scadia!

Staff was friendly and helpful. Complimentary breakfast was quite good. The hotel is one block from the waterfront.

AMAZING! I can’t say enough how much we loved this hotel. Everything from the staff, to breakfast, to the comfy beds, to the cleanliness! They go above and beyond at every turn. Located right in the heart of Bar Harbor everything is walking distance which made traveling with kiddos that much easier! Already can’t wait to come back!

Breakfast was amazingly good. Sit down service included in the room charge and great food. Wonderful selection. Would highly recommend.

What a beautiful hotel. The beds were super comfortable. The bartender was fabulous. The sit down menu breakfast was out of this world. and the location was spot on.
