The Ranch Motel was a fantastic experience. We were in town for a wedding at the zoo and needed a pet-friendly place to stay with our dog, Coco. Our room was perfectly located, and the staff were incredibly respectful and kind. It is a bit of an oasis once you walk through the gate. A quick tip for future travelers: the motel is transparent about their leisure club events, so be sure to check their schedule. The events run on time, so if you prefer a quieter environment, you can simply plan your activities around them. We enjoyed two excellent food trucks on-site during our stay. My only suggestion for improvement would be to implement QR codes for tipping staff, as we rarely carry cash and would love to tip the bartenders, cleaning staff, and front desk clerks. if Imiised those QR codes please let me know. Other items to note: The front desk is truly available 24/7 and one bartender, whose name I did not get, came to the pool with a dog bowl with ice for our dog. Truly everyone seemed to go above and beyond when you asked for anything---much appreciated.

Came in town for a concert. Location was not close to anything special, pricey for a one night stay with minimal amenities.

My original room had two bugs on the bed comforter (looking like tiny black spiders)....I spoke to the staff and showed pictures, and they promptly assigned me a new room and said that they never heard of bugs on the bed before. They re-coded my card but kept my other one too so I can move my stuff. Well, both cards worked on all rooms....like rooms for the entire floor! It is like I got the master key, which is not great and is a safety concern. I went back again and got recoded again, and the new key worked only on the room I was assigned to. The new room was clean and good in general besides a hair on top of the toilet. At that point, I decided not to go back down. The motel has a lot of charm and great location, and it's been remodeled..so they are trying, but given the price point which is not cheap, you can stay in one of the Marriott properties 2 miles away where I have never had similar issues - and clean room and safety seems like table stakes.

I don't think the RM is needing an EXCELLENT review because the whole vibe is minimalist and super chill. Great location, super nice staff. Rooms were downright chilly in the south Texas summer and it was awesome. Great pool service from Stefan at the pool and bar. Pool set up is divine. Very relaxing. No kids while I was there. Just grown ups reading books and vibing pool side. Everyone just hanging out in the 100' heat. Great local cocktails in the evening and coffee served with smile in the morning. No TV but the internet was fast. Bathrooms are like a cabin at summer camp so don't expect the Hyatt-but that's the whole point. Bed was comfy and room was quiet. No elevators, door slams, or traffic. Adjacent pickle ball courts were going til late as this place obviously has an appeal. We will stay again.
