Great location, reception were friendly and helpful on arrival and the room was spacious, comfortable and well appointed. The pool area was really nice, but too chilly to stay and lounge. Reception there was a little abrupt and overheard staff discussing "that Asian bloke who was here" which was distasteful. Refused a dining table at first on the Sun evening, went to reception and they were happy to book us on for 8pm? Meal was good but then had somebody else's coffees on our bill. Second night pre-booked, again great food, but incorrect drink served then server was snippy when I politely requested some lime or lemon in my G&T - not necessary behaviour really. Despite those small things and the GBNews set as the default TV Channel (??), we had a lovely relaxing stay and would recommend it to others.

Loved the property and the area. Our room although clean was very small and looked over the dirty roof of an outbuilding. Staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Some of the facilities were a bit dated and could do with a bit of upgrading. The bar was extremely small for such a large hotel and difficult to find a seat.

A lovely property, nice breakfast, and the leisure facilities were very good. Some things to keep on top of - the air conditioning unit and fan in the room we stayed in weren't working or weren't clear how to use. A small downside on an otherwise lovely stay.

Great hotel and staff very helpful. We were upgraded and room very comfortable. Pillows a bit hard. Beutiful grounds and golf course Had to pay for use of swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi of £10 each as did not book through Best western hotels direct.

My trip was very disappointing, On arrival it was hard to find a parking space. I chose this hotel as it was a spa hotel, upon arrival i was informed that the spa was out of service for the next 2 days which was disappointing. The shower head in my room was leaking as was the sink tap, I found a can of hair products on the chair in my room and the TV was on a table where you could only see half the screen from the bed. For a premier hotel that is charging premium rates I expect so much more.

Staff room and grounds nice. Spa is a little run down which is unfortunate as it comes at an extra charge of £10 per head. Bar staff are slow but breakfast staff excellent!!

Despite having to wait for someone to show up at the reception desk for like 10 mins, quite understandable having realized this place was hoppin' with a wedding and some other function going on. Property was clean and had a comfortable stay, bar staff very friendly and served late. Breakfast was good, parking free albeit this night it was tough to find a spot

We were staying just one night as we were on a course nearby. I feel the pics online dont do the hotel justice, our room was lovely, bedding really comfortable, the grounds a beautiful! Most of all we were impressed by the staff at this hotel, amazing customer service and helpful, cheery attitudes! We stayed half board and were realky wowed by the dinner! Lots of choice and courses included! My only criticism would be that the pool and leisure facilities are a bit small for the size of the hotel and not quite as beautiful as the rest of the hotel

3 night stay for GB Masters at nearby The Belfry. Although the room did not have a refigerator, which was needed for medicines, one was very promptly delivwred and installed in our room. Made full use of the facilities with much needed swim afterspending all day on our feet following the golf. Very friendly and accomodating staff with nothing being too much. Only down side was noise on the 2nd night due to a wedding being held and our room was close to function hall. Minor issue really as we were so tired we would have slept through anything but would not have been too happy with the noise on a different stay. We were in Room 75 and there were rooms even closer to the function suite. Breakfast included with drinks made to order and brought to your table, plenty of choice with "specials" cooked to order Bar food lovely and main restaurant food excellent, again service in all three was excellent

Stayed in a single room and was pleasantly surprised by the size of the room, including bathroom. It was spotlessly cleaned and felt very homely. My only complaint would be that there seemed to be a heavy door directly underneath my room which would slam intermittently through the evening/night and almost shake the whole room. The sink was slow draining as well. However, overall pleasant stay and would stay again.

Room was small and noisy extraction fan directly outside bedroom window Request to move and given room higher up No view as wooden barriers cover extraction system Room small but old fashioned, was clean. Hotel carpets landings and stairs were a disgrace tacky so you feet stuck a little in placed same with banisters, had to wash hands repeatedly….remainder of hotel was clean but old fashioned and at £160 per night zero value for money and i will never use this hotel again

The room was large (accessible room) but there was an off smell in the bathroom. We were in the area where wedding functions were held and, as there were weddings both nights, we were disturbed by guests returning to rooms. Not sure what the smell was in the corridor last day but it could have been drugs.

It was value for money. The hotel was a little tired but mostly clean and presentable. We very much appreciated a room upgrade but the chap that checked us in spoke in a robotic manner with little eye contact. The ladies at breakfast were friendly and helpful

The cleanliness was not up to high standard considering i paid £330 for the room for the night. The toilet door did not have a lock and did not close properly. There was two water cans and two sparking water with two crisps.

I was really disappointed with my stay. I was given the wrong room to what I had booked. I booked the king suite with jacuzzi and was given the duluxe double with jacuzzi. Reception made me out to be stupid saying they don’t do such a room. The double duluxe was so uncomfortable. Needs a new mattress desperately. There was a huge red stain on the floor. The room was freezing with a draft coming under the door, the signal on the tv did not work and the remote didn’t work to search on YouTube. I’m actually shocked at this property after wanting to stay for a long time. I’m so disappointed

All the staff went the extra mile for my daughter's birthday. They upgraded our room so we had a spacious room for the two of us (mother and daughter) and a plate decorated with 'happy birthday' and truffles on it when we arrived. She also had a beautiful 'happy birthday' treat for pudding that evening and also on the Saturday morning - the day of her actual birthday, so she felt very special.

Great property. The majority of the areas are4modern and well maintained. I got a free upgrade to a junior suite which was very nice indeed. The bar and restaurant were both lovely. It is an expensive hotel but I feel worth it. Lovely breakfast. Staff very friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel

My stay was horrific! I booked a room with a lot of space and a big bed, the shower and bathroom was not up to standard. My room was also right next to the events venue of the hotel and the music was blasting. I was told that the party would end around 12:30am. I was told that there were not many rooms left. I got reception to show me to around 5 other rooms. Two of these were again, next to the events rooms and the music volume was insane, one room smelt of smoke, the other of damp and the 5th that I decided to spend the night in was tiny and cramped, it was hot and the bed was a joke!! Very uncomfortable. The porter did bring me chips and a coke and the next day my pizza and 1 beer was taken off the bill. Breakfast was also terrible for a 4 start hotel. After spending GBP160 for my room, an hour looking for a new room and the above mentioned I will never book into this hotel again or recommend it to others.

This was the third time I have stayed here. The room is good and the service is good but I had to complain about the shower twice. The first time I was told the problem with lack of pressure and temperature was do to the many others using it at the same time. I tried it again in the evening and the following morning and still no improvement. I again reported it when booking out but the receptionist was simply not bothered.

All the staff went the extra mile for my daughter's birthday. They upgraded our room so we had a spacious room for the two of us (mother and daughter) and a plate decorated with 'happy birthday' and truffles on it when we arrived. She also had a beautiful 'happy birthday' treat for pudding that evening and also on the Saturday morning - the day of her actual birthday, so she felt very special.

Great location, reception were friendly and helpful on arrival and the room was spacious, comfortable and well appointed. The pool area was really nice, but too chilly to stay and lounge. Reception there was a little abrupt and overheard staff discussing "that Asian bloke who was here" which was distasteful. Refused a dining table at first on the Sun evening, went to reception and they were happy to book us on for 8pm? Meal was good but then had somebody else's coffees on our bill. Second night pre-booked, again great food, but incorrect drink served then server was snippy when I politely requested some lime or lemon in my G&T - not necessary behaviour really. Despite those small things and the GBNews set as the default TV Channel (??), we had a lovely relaxing stay and would recommend it to others.

I’ve stayed here a few times and this was the best visit so far … service at at the bar and at breakfast were great - contrary to my colleagues experience the food tased good and was presented nicely. Staff wee very friendly and attentive.

Lovely hotel in a great location. Bar staff seemed not managed and the service was terrible, arguing amongst themselves in front of customers, totally disorganised, waiting 10 minutes for 4 drinks several times, all other areas including reception and restaurant staff completely different, happy smiles and ready to please. 3 night stay for GB Masters at nearby The Belfry. Although the room did not have a refigerator, which was needed for medicines, one was very promptly delivwred and installed in our room. Made full use of the facilities with much needed swim afterspending all day on our feet following the golf. Very friendly and accomodating staff with nothing being too much. Only down side was noise on the 2nd night due to a wedding being held and our room was close to function hall. Minor issue really as we were so tired we would have slept through anything but would not have been too happy with the noise on a different stay. We were in Room 75 and there were rooms even closer to the function suite. Breakfast included with drinks made to order and brought to your table, plenty of choice with "specials" cooked to order Bar food lovely and main restaurant food excellent, again service in all three was excellent

I was really disappointed with my stay. I was given the wrong room to what I had booked. I booked the king suite with jacuzzi and was given the duluxe double with jacuzzi. Reception made me out to be stupid saying they don’t do such a room. The double duluxe was so uncomfortable. Needs a new mattress desperately. There was a huge red stain on the floor. The room was freezing with a draft coming under the door, the signal on the tv did not work and the remote didn’t work to search on YouTube. I’m actually shocked at this property after wanting to stay for a long time. I’m so disappointed

Set in a beautiful location , surrounded by a golf course and some very nice properties . The hotel /spa health club is full of character and very different to the norm . The health club and spa is obviously a big area of business for the hotel and much of the front car park is reserved for members . The hotel entrance hallways , bars and restaurant are wood panelled with a darkish wood which gives character but I felt some areas and certainly my room could do with a freshen up . It was nice enough, well appointed and reasonably comfortable . I decided to have a pizza and a glass of wine in my room and it was delicious . My only real complaint is a common gripe of mine , in that when I checked out at 7am the person on the desk , I assume the night clerk, had no clue how to work the computer to produce invoices etc. the queue of two of us took an age to get released and the efforts of the clerk were painful to watch .

Friendly staff member when we arrived late. It was dark when we arrived after a long car journey and we found the signs to the hotel difficult especially at the very end. There wasn’t a lift up to our room which was disappointing to two septuagenarians! But the lovely night porter helped with that.

The actual hotel itself is beautiful however the interiors of the rooms are in desperate need for a refurb. The roast was really disappointing as you can see everything was boiled and barely roasted. The manager at the restaurant did try to rectify this by giving us a dessert from the oak room restaurant which was lovely. The spa itself was nice however the overall quality is low with limited facilities. The massage was good.

We were staying just one night as we were on a course nearby. I feel the pics online dont do the hotel justice, our room was lovely, bedding really comfortable, the grounds a beautiful! Most of all we were impressed by the staff at this hotel, amazing customer service and helpful, cheery attitudes! We stayed half board and were realky wowed by the dinner! Lots of choice and courses included! My only criticism would be that the pool and leisure facilities are a bit small for the size of the hotel and not quite as beautiful as the rest of the hotel

Very dated room and poor quality mattress. Bathroom was modern / nice bath & shower - complete contrast to the bedroom. Indifferent service at the bar in the evening but excellent service at breakfast in the morning. Rooms really need an upgrade !

Property was nice and room ok. Shower was a powerful but temperature kept varying. Bar food and drinks were nice but disappointing that on Expedia (who we booked through) it said pets stay free but on arrival charges were applied for the dog which is why I’ve given a lower rating. Did mention to the member of staff who checked us in but nothing was done about this and Expedia still shows as pets stay free
