Nice stay in conveniently located hotel. Reasonably sized car park but can fill up quickly and on street parking not good. Only single-glazed windows (presumably because hotel is in a conservation area?) so external noise levels quite high at times

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hand Hotel. It’s a very comfortable hotel with friendly helpful staff. The location and the view over the river Dee are excellent and we loved the riverside patio area. We will return

Stayed for 3 nights, hotel is old but clean. Breakfast was nice, bar was nice. Car park got busy on the Friday, only space left was under a tree. Next morning the front left hand side and windscreen of my car was caked in bird mess, horrible thick black filth. I got a bucket of water from reception and was able to scrape the thick mess off my windscreen but had to wait until I got home to clean off the rest of the mess - went to a local handwash and had to pay a bit extra for the clean. Never seen such a filthy mess! So nice hotel but dont park under the tree, especially the end nearest the hotel.

Our bedroom was small and very dated. We thought it felt shoehorned in, but it was very clean. The bar area was lovely. Breakfast was excellent although the tea was cold. Staff were all very friendly and helpful.

Lovely little hotel overlooking the river in the centre of Llangollen. Staff are very welcoming and the rooms are good with comfortable beds. The en-suite bathroom was quite small though and in need of updating but everywhere was clean. The only real issue was the draughty windows that didn’t close properly and the room was quite cold but an extra electric radiator was in our room and worked well at warming us up. Breakfast was lovely with a great choice of good quality food. Would definitely return.

First of all I would like to say that the breakfast was absolutely wonderful, I think the staff were very nice apart from one member of staff who obviously had a evening off before work next day because I recognize him . I went to the bar waiting to be served but he came back from wherever thought I was rude by standing in this place I could tell this from his reaction on his face I moved to the other side of a bar I think he works early morning exception area , just felt uncomfortable . But on a lighter note the other staff was absolutely wonderful very clean Hotel very nice what let it down was bedroom number2, very very small very claustrophobic so that is why I've only given a few stars would I stay here again probably No

My room was as far away as you could walk in the old building and the shower was small, so narrow I had to suck it in bigtime and turn sideways to get in and out while protecting the little fella, but it served its purpose. Breakfast was great, so much to choose from. Good bar too. The staff were brilliant very accomodating. I would go back but get a different room.

Great location but the hotel needs an upgrade. Beds and pillows are very uncomfortable and the lack of air conditioning left us sweltering until morning. Love the history of the hotel but it seems understaffed and is quite dated. Breakfast is a bonus!

Loved the history and view from our room, breakfast was amazing, staff were outstanding. Poor water pressure in the shower, pub noise can be very noisy. I would look for a quiter place next time.

Car park rammed, had to park a distance away and pay. Room very small, bathroom very dated. Only one person serving at bar when busy. Too much wrong for the price quoted, will not be booking this hotel again

Lovely hotel in an excellent location. Our room overlooked the River Dee so was a quiet room. There is a lovely beer garden overlooking the river which we were able to make use of. The staff were friendly and helpful. We also had 2 good evening meals at the hotel. The food was excellent but the service was slow on the Friday evening.

Everything was brillant. Our only complaint was the hotel was very short staffed. Ie got a room for my daughter and her partner which was a really nice one. Only fault there was no bed clothes and toiletries. Luckily there was another one available. The staff were brilliant. But sadly short on numbers.

Room was comfortable although perhaps looking a little tired and unloved. Hotel was very convenient with excellent parking facilities. Breakfast was very good and staff were on the whole very helpful. The major feature for this hotel is the outdoor drinks/food area at the front over looking the river and a delightful garden. Well done Hand Hotel!

Nice stay in conveniently located hotel. Reasonably sized car park but can fill up quickly and on street parking not good. Only single-glazed windows (presumably because hotel is in a conservation area?) so external noise levels quite high at times

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hand Hotel. It’s a very comfortable hotel with friendly helpful staff. The location and the view over the river Dee are excellent and we loved the riverside patio area. We will return

Lovely little hotel overlooking the river in the centre of Llangollen. Staff are very welcoming and the rooms are good with comfortable beds. The en-suite bathroom was quite small though and in need of updating but everywhere was clean. The only real issue was the draughty windows that didn’t close properly and the room was quite cold but an extra electric radiator was in our room and worked well at warming us up. Breakfast was lovely with a great choice of good quality food. Would definitely return.

Great breakfast. We booked this hotel as there was a restaurant and as it was a Monday night we were certain of getting a meal. Unfortunately the kitchen was closed and we were reduced to a Coop sandwich. They had our email so could have informed us in advance so we could have made alternative arrangements. Shame as otherwise very good

Lovely hotel, nice and clean. Staff very friendly and catered very well for allergies. Food was delicious (would highly recommend the lamb shank)

Lovely hotel in an excellent location. Our room overlooked the River Dee so was a quiet room. There is a lovely beer garden overlooking the river which we were able to make use of. The staff were friendly and helpful. We also had 2 good evening meals at the hotel. The food was excellent but the service was slow on the Friday evening.

First of all I would like to say that the breakfast was absolutely wonderful, I think the staff were very nice apart from one member of staff who obviously had a evening off before work next day because I recognize him . I went to the bar waiting to be served but he came back from wherever thought I was rude by standing in this place I could tell this from his reaction on his face I moved to the other side of a bar I think he works early morning exception area , just felt uncomfortable . But on a lighter note the other staff was absolutely wonderful very clean Hotel very nice what let it down was bedroom number2, very very small very claustrophobic so that is why I've only given a few stars would I stay here again probably No

We only stayed the one night and it was a very good stay,requested a river view and we got one. Breakfast was very good and really enjoyed it.

Staff very friendly however not enough to cope with breakfast . Would have liked freshly cut fruit to go with the yoghurt and tea pots for the tea. Parking could be an issue. Overall a pleasant stay.

Could really do with a make over / updating.. can understand them maybe keeping it traditional for the period it was built.. room was small bathroom small Couldn't sit on toilet properly for the toilet roll holder, took about 5 mins to get the water right for the shower.. tv timing out like Couldn't get a signal.. Staff great Couldn't fault them..

Good location. Hotel ok but we stayed on the top floor which was like an oven with no fan in the room . Nearly left half way through the night because of this . Other than this the hotel is good if your looking for a short stay whilst staying in Llangollen . I would go back again but would ask for a room on the lower floors during any warm weather

The Hand Hotel is a bit tired looking but everything works. The beer garden is really good sitting by the river and the breakfast buffet is good.
